2 Your Wedding at Melton Estate at The Home of Summer Love At Melton Estate, our aim is to make your wedding day an enjoyable and memorable occasion for you and your guests. As the venue owners we have the flexibility to tailor the wedding arrangements to suit you. We welcome all types of weddings and civil unions. Melton Estate hosts weddings throughout the year and has a capacity of 180 in The Pavilion for the wedding service and 150 inside for a seated wedding dinner service. Melton Estate is a boutique winery with an architecturally designed event venue purposely designed for weddings. The Pavilion is an all-weather outdoor wedding chapel and entertaining space, complete with lighting and heating. Our Banquet Room sits above the mature Pinot Noir vines and is the perfect venue for your wedding celebration. Just 10 minute s drive west from Christchurch International Airport, Melton Estate is conveniently located in a quiet rural setting, with plenty of off-street parking. Your wedding photography will be stunning amongst the sheltered gardens and expansive lawns which connect to the lush vineyards. There s plenty of space outside in our sheltered garden and terrace, on the hardwood deck overlooking the vines or inside the fully air conditioned winery with three connecting event rooms. Melton Estate is the home of the acclaimed Summer Love Sparkling Riesling a fantastic celebration wine for your wedding, plus there are many other award-winning wines. Your family and friends will be treated these boutique estate grown wines. Melton Estate was awarded the South Island Best Wine Tourism Restaurant in the 2013 (and 2012) Great Wine Capitals awards, and the only Canterbury winery wedding venue with a Qualmark Venue 4 star Plus rating. 3 What we do for you Wedding arrangements are easy at Melton Estate. The following are already included as part of your Venue Hire Fee: 1. Exclusive use of Melton Estate for your wedding. This includes all spaces inside and outdoor, plus 12 acres of vineyards for photographs. Lot s of room. 2. The Pavilion for your wedding service, which has lighting and sound system. The Pavilion also has roll down sides, so your wedding will go to plan in any weather. We will assist with chairs, barrels, etc. The day will run smoothly with our help. 3. Your host Tracy Caunter (Owner and your Wedding Coordinator) will be available to assist with planning and be on hand throughout the day to assist with all needs. 4. Professional, friendly staff serving your choice of food and drinks and ensuring all guests are well catered for. All staff are in matching uniforms with name badges. 5. Use of Melton Estate background music and use of our sound system for your music selection. Wireless microphones and a lectern are also available. 6. Linen tablecloths and napkins, our crockery, cutlery and glassware, and normal cleaning. You can add your own touches to decorate the tables, the Banquet Room, The Pavilion and outdoor areas to suit your style. 7. A separate room for gifts / tea and coffee service. How to Book your Wedding We like to make it easy for you to choose Melton Estate, so there are just four items to budget for. 1. Booking Deposit: To book Melton Estate we require a Booking Deposit of $500 (non refundable). This immediately confirms your wedding date. Payment for the deposit can be made online or via credit card. 2. Venue Hire: We host weddings all year... Summer Season: $1,950 (October to April), for exclusive use for your wedding, or Winter Season: $1,250 (May to September), for exclusive use for your wedding On a Public Holiday an additional fee of $1,000 applies to the venue hire only. 3. Meal Service: Select your meal and canapes options. We carefully cater for allergies and other dietary considerations Kids menu s also available. Tracy will guide you through the menu options and help you select which of our award winning wines will best suit your budget and food choices. All prices include GST. 4. Beverage Service: Treat your guests to our award-winning wines as they stroll amongst the vines. Beverage prices are discounted relative to our current restaurant beverage list. Our Beautiful Boutique Wines Locality Bottle Melton Estate Sparkling Riesling 2016 Ripe Riesling provides crisp fruit flavours and a touch of Pinot Noir adds the distinctive pink colour. Summer Love has an exciting spritz and is the perfect celebration wine for all occasions. Melton Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2016 Flavours of tropical fruits are underpinned by citrus and ripe lemon. This wine is up front on the palate and has a luscious finish. Melton Estate Pinot Gris 2013 A dry style with hints of pear and summer fruits. The palate has spice influences and a supple finish. Melton Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir 2014 Aromatics of strawberries on the nose. A fresh palate and fruit-driven intensity derived from Pinot Noir grapes. Melton Estate Riesling 2015 A dry aromatic style which displays hints of lime and honey. A crisp clean wine with length and elegance. Melton Estate Chardonnay 2013 Lightly oaked in barrel to allow the fruit to fully express its appeal. Butterscotch notes over golden fruit tones will appeal. Trophy Winner. Melton Estate Pinot Noir 2013 Aged in new French oak to add to the complexity of the wine. Cherry fruits, smooth tannins and just a hint of spice to discover.
