This 2016 vintage is elegant yet powerful with notes of plums, cherries and pepper spice, and will make an excellent match with steak. Ruby purple colour with ripe dark cherry and blackberry aromas with complex spices. On the palate it shows bright acidity, some vanilla notes and sweet spice. 13.5% Journey s End Merlot Stellenbosch 2014 South Africa Bottle Merlot can be an elegant wine, showing restrained fruit characteristics and moreish spiciness the Journey s End Merlot is a fine example of this. Black fruits such as plums and blackcurrants are well balanced with liquorice, aniseed, black pepper and eucalyptus notes within a light but well structured body. Arc du Rhone Cotes du Rhone Villages 2014 France Magnum (please note this price is for a magnum i.e. 1.5l bottle) Deliciously smooth and rich, with dark berry and cherry fruit favours and a hint of spice, this will prove a great match for roast dinners, a rich gratin dauphinoise. Arc du Rhône is named after the classified group of villages which together line up to form a geographical arc across the valley of the southern Rhône and is known locally as the 'arc of gold' This Côtes du Rhône Villages is typically full-flavoured, lusciously fruity with a delicate spice in the finish; made with subtle oak maturation principally from Grenache Noir and Syrah with some enriching Carignan. Beautifully made with old vine Cabernet Franc grapes. 14% Bottega Vinai, Teroldego Rotaliano Trentino, Italy 2013 Bottle Fresh and juicy red from Trentino's Teroldego grape - one of northern Italy's most expressive varieties. Brilliant pasta wine and fantastic value. Aromas of ripe black cherry and forest fruits lead onto a richlyflavoured palate - juicy and vibrant, with fresh sappy acidity.
