Dark, layered and brooding, the 2010 covers every inch of the palate with intense dark fruit and a seemingly endless mélange of powerful, balsamic-inflected notes. The finish is long, intense and superbly layered. Today the 2010 is huge, explosive and flat-out great. Hints of rose petals and violets leave a lasting impression. This firmly-structured, classic, tightly-knit, restrained port exhibits brilliant purity as well as impressive intensity. While not the most dramatic or flamboyant, it is a beautiful, classically structured port that will age gracefully. Anticipated maturity: (94/100) - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate 1997 Port (Fonseca)... $ $ Port (Taylor, Fladgate)... $ $ Saturated black/purple-colored, with stunning aromatics of blueberries, blackberries, licorice, and iron, this spectacular vintage port is one of the stars of the vintage. Extremely full-bodied, with silky tannin, spectacular concentration and purity, multiple flavor levels, and an evolved, forward personality, this is an exquisite yet precocious 1997 vintage port. Anticipated maturity: (96/100) - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate 1994 Port (Fonseca)... $ $ One of the most spectacular 1994s, this opaque purple-colored wine is an exotic, flamboyant, ostentatious port. Extremely fragrant and pungent, with a flashy display of jammy cassis, pepper, licorice, and truffles, this port is an attention-grabber. Awesomely rich, and full-bodied, with superb length, richness, and overall balance, it possesses a huge mid-palate, layers of flavor, an unctuous texture, and a blockbuster finish. This wine will drink fabulously well at age ten, but keep for up to thirty years (97/100) - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate 1994 Port (Taylor, Fladgate)... $ $ When tasting young vintage ports, Taylor is always the most backward. Yet potentially, it has the capability to be the most majestic. This classically made, opaque purple-colored wine is crammed with black fruits (blueberries and cassis). It reveals high tannin and a reserved style, but it is enormously constituted with massive body, a formidable mid-palate, and exceptional length. It is a young, rich, powerful Taylor that will require years of aging. Compared to the more flashy, forward style of the 1992, the 1994 has more in common with 1977 and (97/100) - Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate 1992 Port (Fonseca)... $ $ Port (Taylor, Fladgate)... $ $ Taylor's 1992 Vintage Port is unquestionably the greatest young port I have ever tasted. It represents the essence of what vintage port can achieve. The color is an opaque black/purple, and the nose offers up fabulously intense aromas of minerals, cassis, blackberries, licorice, and spices, as well as extraordinary purity and penetration. Yet this is still an unformed and infantile wine. If Chateau Latour made a late-harvest Cabernet Sauvignon, I suspect it might smell like this. In the mouth, the wine is out of this world, displaying layer upon layer of concentrated black fruits backed by well-integrated tannin and structure. This is a massive, magnificently rich, full-bodied port that will be far more flattering in its youth than were such Taylors as the 1983, 1977, or It possesses awesome fruit, marvelous intensity, and lavish opulence, all brilliantly well-delineated by the wine's formidable structure. Lemon, iodine and lavender on the soil-driven nose. Rich, opulent and sweet, with an almost exotic ripeness to the pineapple and honey flavors. This very ripe, saline wine conveys a strong impression of solidity. (93/100) - Steve Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Champ-Canet (Jean-Marc Boillot)... $ $ Puligny-Montrachet Les Perrieres (Francois Carillon)... $ $ Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts (Etienne Sauzet)... $ $ Bright, light yellow. Very pure, scented aromas of lime, lemon ice and acacia flower; conveys a strong impression of the site's deep soil. Big, broad and sweet, but kept firm and fresh but harmonious acidity. Communicates a strong impression of extract and finishes with good tactile grip. Really stimulates the salivary glands. But I'd hold this for a few years. Dense, rich and taut, with terrific innermouth energy to the citrus, stone fruit and spice flavors. Classic Boillot white Burgundy in its tension, purity and brisk acidity. Tightly coiled, very long wine with the spine for a graceful evolution in bottle. There is a lacy and cool mouth feel to the delicious and refined middle weight flavors with very fine-grained tannins supporting the ever-so-slightly austere finish (87-89/100) - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com 2012 Morey-Saint-Denis "Aux Chezeaux" (Arlaud)... $ $ Morey-Saint-Denis "Les Millandes" (Arlaud)... $ $ An interesting and very pretty nose combines notes of lavender, cherry, raspberry and just enough earth to notice. There is good volume and punch to the solidly well-concentrated medium weight flavors that terminate in a mildly chewy and serious yet well-balanced and complex finish (89-92/100) - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com 2012 Morey-Saint-Denis "Les Ruchots" (Arlaud)... $ $ Here the nose is intensely floral with a broad-ranging nose of raspberry, cherry, red currant and soft earth nuances. There is a lovely mouth feel to the beautifully well-detailed medium weight flavors that possess good volume and verve before terminating in a moderately austere, wellbalanced and impressively persistent finale. Good stuff that is worth your attention (90-92/100) - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin "Les Combottes" (Arlaud)... $ $ A perfumed, cool and restrained nose features pure aromas of red and black currant, cassis and rose petal scents. The delicious, intense and well-detailed flavors possess a wonderfully beguiling and silky mouth feel, all wrapped in a mineral-inflected, balanced and strikingly long finish. A classic Combottes of finesse and punch (90-93/100) - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com

5 2012 Charmes-Chambertin (Arlaud)... $ $ Good medium red. Wild aromas of berries, licorice and gibier. Densely packed and animated, with enticing floral lift to the flavors of wild small red berries. This firmly built, youthfully tight wine doesn't have quite the sweetness or perfumed character of the Clos de la Roche but there's nothing hard about its tannins. (91-93/100) - Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 2012 Clos de la Roche (Arlaud)... $ $ Palish red. Captivating aromas of strawberry, raspberry, brown spices, rust and rose petal. Silky on entry, then shapely and energetic, boasting excellent inner-mouth tension to the saline red berry, spice and orange peel flavors. This, too, spreads out nicely to saturate the palate, with the fine-grained tannins in perfect balance with the wine's fruit. A lovely Clos de la Roche in the making. (92-94/100) - Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar 2012 Bonnes-Mares (Arlaud)... $ $ Bright medium red. Ripe, musky nose combines redcurrant, cherry, roasted herbs and underbrush, with a mounting wild berry character; quite mellow and complex. Sweet and silky on entry, then dense with extract in the middle, showing multidimensional flavors of red fruits, blueberry, minerals, orange peel, spices and crushed rock; offers the uncanny combination of saline extract and fresh fruit found only in Burgundy. Finishes with a serious spine but the tannins are ripe and complex. Based on my tasting of more than a dozen examples of 2012 Bonnes-Mares, this is a seriously good vintage for this normally austere grand cru. If Arlaud's 2012s don't quite offer the taut, high-pitched aromatics of his 2010s, their richness will make them more pleasurable earlier on. There is also good volume to the concentrated, round and very fleshy middle weight plus flavors that conclude in a moderately austere, well-balanced and solidly complex finale (91-93/100) - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com 2012 Echézeaux La Grande Complication (Mongeard-Mugneret)... $ $ A background application of wood frames the intensely floral aromas of ripe black cherry fruit and Asian spice nuances. The stems are evident on the big, dense and very serious flavors that brim with dry extract that helps to buffer the very firm tannic spine on the wonderfully complex and persistent finish. This is decidedly old school in style and I wouldn't buy this beast without the express intention of cellaring it for the long-term (92-94/100) - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com 2012 Grands Echézeaux (Mongeard-Mugneret)... $ $ This is also quite floral with plenty of lovely spicy elements adding breadth to the reserved yet layered aromas of black cherry, plum and slightly earthy aromas. There is very solid concentration to the supple and relatively refined medium weight plus flavors that display subtle but focused power on the wonderfully long, harmonious and palate staining finish. This is excellent though note too that plenty of cellar time will be required (92-95/100) - Allen Meadows, Burghound.com 5

FORMAN CABERNET SAUVIGNON VERTICAL FRIDAY 12/26 & SATURDAY 12/27 Ric Forman is arguably Napa Valley s first superstar winemaker. Although sometimes overlooked today, there is little question Forman has had a profound influence on a number of younger winemakers who still speak of him with great reverence. In 2012 Forman celebrated his 46th harvest. Today, Forman counts on the assistance of his son Toby, in running this small, family-owned jewel of an estate. As for the wines, they are superb, but, best of all, remain realistically priced for the consumer who wants to drink top-flight Cabernet Sauvignon without having to take out a second mortgage.
