From now on until late autumn, it is possible to experience the hospitality and regional traditions of the people of the Palatinate at first hand. Places of interest, such as the Villa Ludwigshöhe and the Edesheimer Schloss are well worth a visit. In this delightful countryside on the outskirts of the old wine growing community of Edesheim lies our winery, the Weingut Werner Anselmann.

Today red and white wine grapes are grown in equal proportions on about 100 hectares of land. Above all, the range of grape varieties impresses. Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Mitos, Cabernet Blanc and several other varieties are grown alongside varieties typical for the region, such as Riesling, Dornfelder and Spätburgunder.

9 The grapes are vinified lovingly and carefully. From dry to noble sweetness, from quality wine to Eiswein, from young, fruity white to barrique-matured, powerful red, there is something for every taste and every occasion. Sparkling wine, premium brandy, liqueurs, grape juice and mulled wine round off the extensive range of products. The gentle and individual maturation of each wine is only possible because modern technology and tradition go hand in hand. Our inherited knowledge and the experience of our long-serving employees are enriched by innovative ideas and the university education of the Anselmann siblings.

11 FEDERAL PRIZE OF HONOUR IN GOLD The wine and sekt estate Gebrüder Anselmann GmbH is the DLG Wine Maker of the Year and winner of the 2010 Federal Prize of Honour in Gold! The Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection awards just one gold, one silver and several bronze Federal Prizes of honour annually. We are accordingly very excited at being awarded this high accolade. The basis for the award is our outstanding performance at the 2010 DLG (German Agricultural Society) Federal Wine Competition. The Anselmann family were delighted to receive 2 top prize awards in Gold Extra and a further 20 gold and 30 silver DLG prizes for their wines and sparkling wines.

At a Gala Evening in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, the Weingut Werner Anselmann was awarded a 2010 State Prize of Honour of the State Government of Rhineland-Palatinate. This prize is awarded for special achievement at the wine and sparkling wine competition of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Chamber of Agriculture. For the Anselmann family, this is a cause for great celebration, for you, we hope, a reason to be curious about our exceptional wines. We cordially invite you to taste our wines!

14 Again and again, awards at wine competitions around the world confirm the high quality of our wines and sparkling wines. Numerous gold and silver medals at MUNDUSvini, Neustadt; Vinalies Internationales, Paris; Sélections Mondiales des vins, Montréal; or Citadelles du vin, Bordeaux inspire Ralf Anselmann in his passion to make our wines even more well-known. He has been able to introduce several sports personalities and celebrities to Anselmann wines at events such as the Bambi Awards 2009, the Sports Ball 2010 or the Olympic Games in Sydney, Athens and Peking. Since 2010, the Anselmann family has been the official wine supplier to the German Basketball Association.

Let our long-serving employees give you some professional guidance. Our wines can also be sampled at our tasting booth, which you can see from the road. Locals and friends of wine from all over the world can meet here to drink a typical Pfälzer Schoppen or a glass of sparkling wine together. In the autumn you can also purchase apples, freshly cut table grapes, new wine and onion tart.
