CANA a Wine To Water Publication Vol. 2, Issue 2 February 2015

CANA Vol. 2, Issue 1 January CANA [KAY-nuh]: A small village in Galilee where Jesus performed the miracle of turning water into wine at a wedding. The miraculous but simple gift allowed the community gathered to continue in celebration. We celebrate the gift of clean water by providing for those in need around the world. (John 2:1-11). CANA is Wine to Water s digital monthly publication for you to stay up to date with what we are doing and what we hope to do. Table of Contents Page 3: An Open Invitation Page 4: Chapter Approval Process Page 5: Becoming a Chapter Wine to Water is a movement dedicated to providing clean water and sanitation to people in need around the world. We are a 501c3 non-profit aid organization -2-

An Open Invitation Dear WTW supporters, I ve had the pleasure of working with Wine To Water for 3 years. I will forever be thankful for this opportunity. I first began volunteering with Wine To Water in 2009 as a student at Appalachain State. I was inspired by the amazing work that Wine To Water was doing all over the world. In 2010, while in school, my friends and I decided to start a student service club at Appalachian State. Our goal was to unite in support of Wine To Water by providing volunteer service and fundraising. The club eventually became the very first Wine To Water chapter. Today, we have 7 student chapters and 2 city chapters that are completely run by dedicated volunteers. As we move into the new year, I want to continue growing this community by connecting Wine To Water supporters to the chapter program. One day, I hope to have Wine To Water chapters all over the world. Community is at the heart of everything that we do at Wine To Water. The Wine To Water Chapter Program gives supporters the opportunity to take the next step in service and form a community of people who are passionate about the mission of Wine To Water in their area. Together, we can end the water crisis. Please consider getting invovled. Cheers! Josh Elliott WTW Chapter Coordinator The Wine To Water Chapter Program is open to students and professionals. For more information, please visit /chapter-program. If you have questions about the Wine To Water Chapter Program, please Josh at josh@. -3-

Chapter Approval Process Purpose & Expectations The primary purpose of the Wine To Water Chapter Program is to promote awareness and involvement in the mission of Wine To Water; to provide clean water to those in need. Each Wine To Water chapter is expected to: -Support Wine To Water and assist the organization in achieving its mission. -Promote a positive image of Wine To Water in a manner that encourages sincerity and acceptance of supporters from every walk of life. -Maintain regular communications with the Wine To Water office, providing information on any chapter events, programs or partnerships. Approval Process In order to be admitted into the Wine To Water chapter program, we require that applicants participate in a 2 phase process. This allows us to build a relationship with potential chapter leadership and gives the applicant a chance to show their passion and investment in the mission of Wine To Water. The approval process is not time sensitive. However, we ask that you stay committed and work diligently through the approval process. Upon completion and approval of your Chapter Application, located at /chapter-program, the following 2 requirements must be completed. 1. Hold 1 successful event during the week of World Water Day (March 22). -A successful event is considered holding an event with more than 10 people that ultimatley supports Wine To Water through education & fundraising. Clear communication on event details is also important. 2. Attend 1 Wine To Water volunteer service trip. -All volunteer service trip destinations are listed at /volunteer. -4-

Becoming a Chapter Once Approved Upon completion of the two requirements, your chapter will be recognized as an offical Wine To Water Chapter on the Wine To Water website. Your Chapter will also receive: - Priority on upcoming volunteer service trips in 5 countries. - A custom chapter fundraising page to track your chapter donations. - Yearly invitations to attend WTW training and meet with staff. - Access to WTW promotional materials and online resources. Retaining Chapter Status The below will help your chapter build relationships within your chapter and with your surrounding community. Wine To Water s goal is to build sustainable relationships with our supporters, donors, and partner organzations around the world. This allows us to have the most efficient and effective impact possible. 1. Hold an annual Wine To Water event during the week of World Water Day (March 22). - Wine To Water will provide ample event managment support through promotional materials and staff guidance. 2. Reach your chapter s yearly fundraising goal. - The fundraising goal will be determined by Wine To Water. Wine To Water will provide ample fundraising support through promotional materials and staff guidance. Chapter donations can be easily collected and tracked through your chapter s donation page. 3. Attend one Wine To Water service trip every other year (especially chapter leaders). - Our unique international volunteer service trips give you a once in a lifetime chance to learn more about clean water solutions and work alongside nationals at every project. -5-

Our efforts are just a drop in the bucket. But if we hadn t of taken that first step, we wouldn t be anywhere right now. -Doc Follow us on facebook.com/winetowater #winetowater
