1 The Barding Huse is lcated in a building built in 1872, shrtly after the Great Chicag Fire. Owner/Prprietr Alpana Singh set abut n a missin t discver the histry f 720 Nrth Wells, and spent a cnsiderable amunt f time researching decades' wrth f archives at the Chicag Histry Museum. Recrds revealed the riginal wner f the building, Christian Ktz, perated a dry gds stre n the first flr and rented the upstairs t barders. In subsequent decades, the first flr was als a cheese cmpany, saln, tbaccnist's shp, a sht and beer pub, and even a labratry. The upstairs cntinued t functin as a residential space until 1988, when Jerry Kleiner and architect Jrdan Mzer transfrmed the entire building int the trendy Cair nightclub. Kleiner and Mser s design elements included Greek clumns (that are still in place), pink granite, large splashes f clr, multiple flrs fr dancing, and basement catacmbs carved ut underneath the sidewalk. A series f nightclubs fllwed Cair, the last f which was called Religin. Turning the space int a restaurant fr the first time was a majr design and architectural undertaking, the mst invlved element f which was the building f tw separate kitchens in space that nce hused a dance flr and a bar.

We will crdinate details fr flrals, lighting, prps, themed linens, specialty equipment. Furthermre we prvide prfessinal calligraphers, phtgraphers, musicians, disc jckeys and entertainers. The Catering Directr will prvide a qute n any décr needs. Parking Valet Parking is available at the frnt dr f The Barding Huse at current rates. Yu may elect t bill the valet parking expense t yur master bill s yur guests d nt incur an ut-fpcket expense. Cat Check The Barding Huse prvides supervised cat check fr all events. Liability The Barding Huse assumes n respnsibility fr persnal prperty and equipment brught int the restaurant. Gratuity & Taxes A gratuity f 20% (f fd & beverage expenditure) will be assessed t yur special event. Applicable state and lcal taxes f 10.75% will als be added. Tax-exempt rganizatins must prvide an fficial letter f exemptin a minimum f ne week prir t the event. Miscellaneus Fees We request that guests btain management apprval befre bringing in any utside fd r beverage. There is a crkage fee f $50.00 per bttle fr all wines brught int the restaurant. There is a $5.00 per persn cake cutting fee fr cakes brught int the restaurant. Terms & Cnditins Guarantee A final cnfirmatin r guarantee f the number f guests is required by 12:00 p.m., three business days prir t the functin. The number given at this time will becme the minimum guarantee. In the event that fewer guests are served n the day f yur functin, yu will be charged based n this guaranteed number. In event that mre guests are served, the actual number f guests served will determine the amunt yu are charged. Cancellatins Depsits are fully refundable up t 30 days prir t the functin. Cancellatins within 30 days, may apply the depsit t a future event t be scheduled within 6 mnths. Within 7 days f the event the depsit will be frfeited. Rm Minimum The Barding Huse des nt autmatically assess a rm fee. Instead, we have established a minimum f fd and beverage dllars that must be spent. Shuld these minimums nt be met, the fd and beverage minimum will be added t yur final bill. Taxes and gratuities d nt cunt twards the fd and beverage minimum. Fd and beverage minimums cannt be reach by gift certificates, carryut fd r bttles f wine and nly pertain t fd and beverage cnsumed during the time f the event. Depsits In rder fr a cntract t be binding, a depsit is required prir t the cntract signing. Depsits may be submitted in persn r by filling ut the credit card authrizatin frm and returning it via . The depsit amunt is 25% f the stated fd and beverage minimum fr the specified rm. Rms will nt be held r cnfirmed until a depsit is received. Final Payment Final payment is due at the cnclusin f the end f the event. Cash r majr credit cards are accepted.
