2 AN INSIDE TRACK TO BURGUNDY 2016 LAROZE DE DROUHIN Laroze de Drouhin is a project managed by Caroline Drouhin, daughter of Philippe, and the winemaking is done at the cellars of Drouhin Laroze. Caroline purchases grapes from growers in some of the commune s top vineyard sites that complement Drouhin Laroze s impressive vineyard holdings. We ve followed the project from the very beginning in 2008 and are convinced that these wines are among the best value in. There is no doubt that 2016 is a complicated vintage and volumes are extremely low. But whereas frosts usually hit the low slopes and you d expect big losses among the Bourgogne and village wines, in 2016, it was the higher slopes with many of the Premier and Grand Crus worst affected. Consequently, there are still some very good value wines available from 2016 and the wines below show you can enjoy this classic vintage at an affordable price. Jennie Perry Laroze de Drouhin Bourgogne Chardonnay Code: C bottles 135 This is the only white made by Maison Laroze de Drouhin and comes from vineyards around the villages of Fixin and Marsannay-La-Côte. Some of these vineyards are classified Bourgogne, while others are from the Marsannay appellation. Fermented in barrel and barrel matured for eight months, it s fresh and lemony with ripe orchard fruits, mineral nuances and a long finish. Thibert Père et Fils Macon Verze Code: C bottles 140 Christophe Thibert owns 22 hectares around Macon and thanks to minimal intervention and judicious use of oak (10% of the Macon Verze is fermented in barrel), these are beautiful, terroir-driven wines that offer outstanding value for money. A lovely, zippy nose with concentrated, ripe fruit and spicy nuances. Domaine Guy & Yvan Dufouleur Hautes Côtes de Nuits Rouge Dames Huguettes Code: C bottles 165 This cuvée comes from vines with an average age of around 50 years old, therefore lower yields and greater concentration than a typical Hautes Côtes de Nuits. This is a wine that seriously over-delivers for the price with a beautiful perfume, ripe, concentrated fruit and smoky complexity. Domaine Guy & Yvan Dufouleur Hautes Côtes de Nuits Blanc Dames Huguettes Code: C bottles 165 The Dufouleur family have been winemakers and growers for over 400 years and father-and-son Guy and Yvan are the 13th and 14th generation to tend the vines. A beautifully balanced Chardonnay, this is soft and rounded with crisp, fresh acidity and a lovely oatmeal finish. Laroze de Drouhin Bourgogne Pinot Noir Code: C bottles 135 This elegant and complex Pinot Noir comes from plots close to the famous appellations of Gevrey-Chambertin and Morey-Saint-Denis, on the lower slopes. It spends around 18 months in barrel and is a great introduction to Caroline s reds. A very concentrated, savoury style with crisp acidity and lovely balance, it really packs a punch for a Bourgogne Pinot Noir! Domaine Yves Girardin Santenay Blanc Sous la Roche Code: C bottles 185 The Girardin family have been vinegrowers for 13 generations and in 1981, Jean Girardin divided the estate between his four children. A lovely floral, perfumed Chardonnay, this combines rich, peachy fruit with oatmeal notes and crisp, fresh acidity. Thibert Père et Fils Pouilly-Fuissé Code: C bottles 195 While the entry level wines represent good value, those seeking more intellect should head straight for the Pouilly-Fuisse bottlings that are often imbued with immense complexity and nuance. Domaine Yves Girardin Santenay Rouge La Maladiere Code: C bottles 195 La Maladière is one of only 11 1er Cru vineyards in Santenay and is situated on steep, south-facing slopes above the village of Santenay itself. A very pretty Pinot Noir, this has lovely concentrated, sweet ripe fruit and fresh, vibrant acidity. Domaine Christophe Buisson Saint Romain Blanc Code: C bottles 210 Christophe Buisson s domaine is tucked behind the hills of Auxey Duresses and Meursault, in the under-appreciated village of Saint Romain. We were impressed by the 2016 which has a really perfumed nose with crisp, concentrated fruit and a touch of rose petal. Laroze de Drouhin Fixin Code: C bottles 230 Fixin is a village just north of Gevrey-Chambertin and the wines can be very muscular and rich, similar in style to those of its neighbour. Caroline uses around 40% whole bunch fermentation to bring greater complexity to the wine and a silkiness of texture to the density and tannin. Lovely dark, savoury, berry fruit on the nose is complemented by an irresistible fresh and lively quality on the palate. Excellent value. 2 3

3 DOMAINE DUBREUIL-FONTAINE First established in 1879, Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine in the hillside village of Pernand-Vergelesses is today run by 5th generation Christine Dubreuil. The village of Pernand-Vergelesses is found where Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune meet and the hills are directly across the valley from Corton-Charlemagne. DOMAINE ANTOINE JOBARD This domaine has been in the same family since 1860 and Antoine is the 5th generation to take over the reins. He only makes white wines, mainly Meursault and production was down at least 50% in Antoine describes 2016 as an elegant and classic vintage as opposed to the richer vintage of Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine Pernand-Vergelesses Rouge Code: C bottles 185 The red Pernand-Vergelesses comes from a two hectare plot, so there s never a lot of this wine but there are fewer cases than ever in Lifted and open with ripe, dark berry fruits on the nose and a crunchy, freshness on the palate, it s a very pretty Pinot Noir. Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine Pernand-Vergelesses Blanc Code: C bottles 195 Pernand-Vergelesses vineyards were particularly badly hit by frosts in 2016 and production of this wine is down a staggering 80%. Having said that, what they have made is beautifully textured with voluptuous, ripe fruit, mineral notes and great balancing acidity. Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine Pernand-Vergelesses Clos Berthet 1er Cru Monopole Code: C bottles 295 Clos Berthet is a 1.5 hectare walled vineyard with vines around 40 years old. A nose of fresh peaches and honey leads into a really juicy palate with a creamy texture and mouth-watering acidity Domaine Antoine Jobard Bourgogne Blanc Code: B bottles 115 A very peaches and cream Chardonnay with a touch of spicy oak on the nose and lovely balancing acidity on the finish. Domaine Antoine Jobard Meursault En La Barre Code: B bottles 240 This is a village wine from a lieux-dits vineyard just down the road from the Jobard home. Very restrained and elegant with a delicate floral nose and a touch of new oak. Domaine Antoine Jobard Meursault Poruzots 1er Cru Code: B bottles 370 A 1er Cru that tends to be full and rich in style, this has super concentration this year with lots of soft, creamy oak. Really fresh with a silky texture and long finish. Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine Corton Bressandes Grand Cru Code: B bottles 230 The hill of Corton is home to the only red Grand Crus of the Côte de Beaune and Dubreuil-Fontaine s plot is right in the middle of Bressandes on a steep slope. There s plenty of richness with dark, inviting, ripe sweet fruit balanced by beautiful freshness and energy. DOMAINE BACHELET-MONNOT Domaine Dubreuil-Fontaine Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru Code: B bottles 330 Production was again down significantly this year, around 60-70%. A lovely nose with lemon rind, buttered toast and hints of mineral. Full, rich and creamy with a fresh lemon fruit seam. These guys are just making stupendous white wines that rank alongside the best you can find...if you have not discovered the Bachelet brothers yet, it s time to do so. Neal Martin, The Wine Advocate Domaine Bachelet-Monnot Bourgogne Blanc Code: C bottles 155 From vineyards around 30 feet from Puligny-Montrachet, this is very much a mini-puligny. The vineyards weren t affected by frost at all and it has lovely fruit concentration with a mineral finish. DOMAINE JEAN MONNIER The Monnier family established their estate in Meursault in 1720 and today own around 16 hectares between Beaune and Puligny- Montrachet. The Monniers are enthusiastic about their 2016 wines, describing them as very concentrated with great balancing acidity. Domaine Bachelet-Monnot Maranges 1er Cru La Fussière Rouge Code: C bottles 190 A really elegant Pinot Noir with a complex nose of orange peel, chocolate orange and Christmas spices. Pure, fresh and delicious! Domaine Bachelet-Monnot Maranges 1er Cru La Fussière Blanc Code: C bottles 230 Marc and Alex s father was instrumental in making Maranges an AC in A creamy nose with a touch of hazelnut and really lively, concentrated fruit. There s a streak of lemon acidity and clear minerality. Domaine Jean Monnier et Fils Beaune-Montrevenots 1er Cru Code: C bottles 170 Full of ripe berry fruit on the nose and fresh, crunchy fruit on the palate. A really lively, expressive, easy-drinking red. Domaine Bachelet-Monnot Chassagne-Montrachet Code: C bottles 325 This is the first time we ve received an allocation of the Bachelet brothers Chassagne-Montrachet but it s only available in limited quantities. Domaine Jean Monnier et Fils Meursault Code: C bottles 260 This comes from 40 year old vines and has a beautiful, expressive nose with floral fruit, lemon and lime. Rich and rounded with a touch of peach and spicy new oak. Domaine Jean Monnier & Fils Puligny-Montrachet Code: C bottles 280 From two parcels, one in the village and one just below the Les Referts 1er Cru, this has a core of gorgeous sweet fruit with creamy new oak and a mineral line running through to the finish. Domaine Bachelet-Monnot Puligny-Montrachet Code: C bottles 345 Another textbook Puligny from the Bachelet brothers with a gorgeous perfume, super concentration and mineral drive. Crisp and elegant with white peach and a touch of sweet spice Domaine Jean Monnier et Fils Meursault-Genevrieres 1er Cru Code: B bottles 195 The Genevrières vineyard is at the top of the slope where the minerals are more predominant and there s always a delicate minerality to this 1er Cru. A pretty, floral and inviting nose with a very open and expressive palate. Lovely freshness with a touch of savoury oak on the finish. Domaine Bachelet-Monnot Meursault Clos du Cromin Code: C bottles 350 The Clos du Cromin lieux-dits is located on the north side of Meursault, near Volnay. Half the vines were planted by the brothers grandfather 80 years ago, the rest in Very rich for a village level wine and has great finesse. Domaine Bachelet-Monnot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts Code: B bottles 265 Intense but focused with soft creamy fruit on the nose, hints of white flowers and really impressive concentration. 4 5

4 Thierry Beaumont is a seventh generation winemaker with around 5.5 hectares of vineyards in Morey, Gevrey and Chambolle Musigny. He was one of the lucky ones in 2016 and managed to escape most of the hail and frost with grapes being picked in great health and almost no sorting necessary. DOMAINE DES BEAUMONT DOMAINE LAMARCHE This estate is run by 6th generation of the Lamarche family, Nathalie and Nicole. They lost about 50% of production in 2016 and decided to eschew any new oak this year and instead focus entirely on fruit purity. Domaine Lamarche Bourgogne Pinot Noir Code: B bottles 140 A very pretty Pinot Noir with sweet, ripe red fruit on the nose, a silky texture and vibrant, fresh acidity. Domaine Lamarche Vosne-Romanée Code: B bottles 210 This year they only made 2 of the usual 16 barrels, worth getting your hands on if you can really poised and elegant with silky berry fruit. Domaine Lamarche Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots Code: B bottles 450 This renowned 1er Cru is dark and smoky on the nose with powerful, concentrated fruit and firm tannin balanced by lovely freshness. Seventh generation winemaker, Thierry Beaumont Domaine des Beaumont Morey-Saint-Denis Code: C bottles 350 A lovely sweet berry nose with really bright, succulent fruit on the palate and a long, crunchy berry fruit finish. Domaine des Beaumont Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Code: C bottles 365 Coming from vines over 60 years old, this has wonderful concentration and length. Full-bodied yet elegant with spicy blackberry fruit and firm, smooth tannin. Domaine des Beaumont Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Cherbaudes Code: B bottles 295 Cherbaudes lies next to the Grand Crus of Mazis-Chambertin and Chapelle- Chambertin. A powerful, rich Gevrey with dark forest fruit and new oak with a long, fleshy finish. Domaine des Beaumont Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Millandes Code: B bottles 295 There s lovely old-vine intensity to this deep, juicy Pinot Noir thanks to 70 year old vines. A core of concentrated, sweet dark fruit with a sleek, mineral backbone. Domaine des Beaumont Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Les Ruchots Code: B bottles 305 From Thierry s smallest plot, a fantastic site just below Bonnes Mares and Clos de Tart. An elegant nose of strawberries and raspberries with a supple, silky palate. Domaine des Beaumont Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes Code: B bottles 310 Combottes sits between the Grand Crus of Clos de la Roche and Latricières Chambertin. It opens with rich, dark fruit on the nose and a touch of liquorice. Fresh and full with black fruits on the palate and a taut structure. Domaine des Beaumont Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru Code: B bottles 510 A seductive Pinot Noir with an alluring perfume of rich, dark fruit enhanced by savoury notes. Serious and structured with impressive tension and elegant berry fruit. Domaine des Beaumont Mazoyeres Chambertin Grand Cru Code: B bottles 560 This is only the third vintage Thierry has made of this Grand Cru. Incredibly dense and fragrant with a soaring perfume and intense, sweet fruit. Domaine Lamarche Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Malconsorts Code: B bottles 585 Malconsorts is next door to the Grand Cru of La Tache and is very fragrant and floral with lots of tannin evident but extremely fine and supple. Domaine Lamarche Echézeaux Grand Cru Code: B bottles 660 A very attractive perfume with ripe strawberries, raspberries and spice. Really dense fruit, brooding and powerful with smooth tannin. Domaine Lamarche La Grand Rue Grand Cru Monopole Code: B bottles 2520 From a 1.65 hectare Monopole, this is ripe and luxuriously creamy with a touch of caramel and really vibrant acidity. DOMAINE JEAN GRIVOT Etienne Grivot is steadily handing over the reins to his daughter and son, Mathilde and Hubert, who will be the 6th generation to make wine in Vosne-Romanée. Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne-Romanée Code: B bottles 282 Already delicious, this fine, silky Vosne has sweet blackberry notes on the nose with really fresh, juicy, bright fruit on the palate. Very charming. Domaine Jean Grivot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Roncières Code: B bottles 576 A beautiful nose with sweet, juicy bramble fruit. Pure and concentrated with great depth of fruit and fresh, floral tones. Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Suchots Code: B bottles 960 A hugely complex and complete Pinot Noir. Very fragrant with perfumed fruit on the palate and a long, fresh finish. Domaine Jean Grivot Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru les Beaux Monts Code: B bottles 798 A gorgeous nose of floral black fruit with great purity and freshness. Impressive concentration and lively acidity with a long, berry fruit finish. Domaine Jean Grivot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru Code: B bottles 960 This was a standout wine. Perfectly balanced, it s powerful, rich and spicy but also delicate, elegant and sophisticated. Domaine Jean Grivot Richebourg Grand Cru Code: bottle 750 Finally a plot that suffered no frost at all, the Richebourg is incredibly dense and powerful but with lovely floral freshness. 6 7

5 DOMAINE BERTAGNA The vineyards of Domaine Bertagna once belonged to the Cistercian monks, famous for founding Clos de Vougeot in the 13th century. The winery is today owned by the Reh family who have an exceptional collection of vineyards including five Grand Crus. DOMAINE LOUIS BOILLOT Louis was formerly at his father s domaine in Gevrey Chambertin but in 2002 moved to Chambolle to be with his partner, Ghislaine Barthod. The two work side-by-side in a small winery and share the same winemaking style but the wines are produced and bottled separately. These are first-class, terroir-driven wines but, sadly, only available in very limited quantities this year. Domaine Bertagna Vougeot Code: C bottles 345 Vougeot is dominated by the 1er and Grand Crus, so it s nice to find an attractive village wine. Very silky and fresh with a delicate floral perfume and savoury notes. Domaine Bertagna Vougeot 1er Cru Clos de la Perrière Monopole Code: B bottles 290 More complex in style, this is layered with ripe black fruits, spicy, herbal notes and a hint of liquorice. Domaine Louis Boillot Côte de Nuits-Villages Code: C bottles 240 Louis Côte de Nuits-Villages wines come from his vineyard holdings in the village of Brochon. Rich and dense with good depth of fresh berry fruit and a silky texture. Domaine Louis Boillot Gevrey-Chambertin Code: C bottles 390 The Gevrey-Chambertin comes from old vines including a plot of 80-year-old vines. A sleek and elegant style with lots of fruit purity. Domaine Bertagna Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts Code: B bottles 290 A full, muscular Vosne-Romanée, this is loaded with rich, dark fruits balanced by fresh, vibrant acidity. Domaine Louis Boillot Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Champonnet Code: B bottles 345 Champonnets is one of the cooler sites in Gevrey-Chambertin and consequently, can be more discreet and elegant than some. Very fine, mineral and taut. Domaine Bertagna Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Murgers Code: B bottles 290 Vibrant, fresh and spicy on the nose. Very good concentration with a burst of juicy acidity on the finish. Domaine Bertagna Corton Les Grandes Lolieres Grand Cru Code: B bottles 485 There s impressive concentration of fruit here and lots of new oak yet it s still very elegant with great mineral drive and a soaring finish. DOMAINE FRANCOIS BUFFET Domaine Bertagna Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru Code: B bottles 495 A really perfumed, elegant Pinot Noir beautifully expressive and very delicate with a complex, long finish. DOMAINE HENRI GOUGES Gouges is probably Nuit-Saint-Georges most famous domaine, renowned for its masculine, brooding reds which are always highly sought after. Yields were down about 70% in places but what was harvested was extremely high quality. Early orders essential. The Buffet family have been making wine in since 1692 and since Marc-Olivier Buffet took over in 2005, quality has soared. Volumes are down massively in 2016 so please get in touch with us as soon as possible to reserve these wines. Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges Code: B bottles 105 Several of the Gouges 1er Cru vineyards were decimated by frost and in some cases, there wasn t enough fruit to fill a barrel. Instead, the fruit s gone into this delicious Nuits-Saint-Georges which will be excellent value for money. Winemaker, Marc-Olivier Buffet. Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Porrets Code: B bottles 255 From a 3.7ha monopole, this has real depth and concentration with fragrant dark fruit balanced by lovely fresh acidity and firm, supple tannin. Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers Code: B bottles 325 A beautifully balanced 1er Cru with old vine fruit giving concentration and younger vine fruit adding energy and freshness. Domaine François Buffet Volnay Code: C bottles 305 Marc-Olivier usually makes around 20 barrels of this wine. This year, he made just one. A very elegant expression of Pinot Noir with pretty cherry fruit on the nose. It s lively, fresh and juicy with a delicacy typical of Volnay. Domaine François Buffet Pommard Code: C bottles 315 Pommard is considered one of the most powerful reds of the Côte de Beaune and yet this is tremendously elegant in style. Very fragrant with silky berry fruits and supple tannin closer to a 1er Cru in quality. Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Vaucrains Code: B bottles 440 Yields are always low in this plot and in 2016 even more so. Very concentrated and brooding with dark fruit and firm, crisp acidity. Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les St Georges Code: B bottles 595 There are no Grand Crus in Nuits-Saint-Georges but many consider Les Saint Georges its finest vineyard. Extremely perfumed with mineral notes, fine-grained tannin and a long, driving finish. Domaine François Buffet Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens Code: B bottles 325 An incredible wine, this comes from 100+ year vines and has lovely concentration and depth. A dark, dense and smoky nose leads into a silky, creamy palate with great density and a firm, muscular finish. 8 9

6 For those who prefer their more classic in style, for those that might have a penchant for de Montille or Michel Lafarge, Joseph Voillot will be right up your street. Neal Martin, Joseph Voillot retired in 1995 and the estate is now looked after by his son-in-law, Jean-Pierre Charlot, one of our favourite winemakers in the Côte d Or. His wines have a stunning sense of balance with beautiful delicacy and grace. As Neal Martin suggests, they rival wines from the best domaines in Volnay and yet prices, as yet, do not reflect this. DOMAINE JOSEPH VOILLOT The Avery family has been good friends with the Remoissenets for over half a century and Roland Remoissenet even spent time working in our Bristol Cellars. Roland has now retired but the company is thriving under Bernard Repolt, together with Pierre Rovani, former editor at Robert Parker s The Wine Advocate, and winemaker Claudine Jobard. REMOISSENET PÈRE ET FILS Jean-Pierre lost around 50% of his crop in 2016 owing to hail and consequently, it is more important than ever to secure these wines en primeur. This was one of the highlights of our trip to last year and we cannot recommend the wines highly enough. Winemaker Jean-Pierre Charlot Domaine Joseph Voillot Bourgogne Pinot Noir Code: C bottles 165 Coming from vines around Volnay and Meursault, this is very fragrant with hints of rose petal and underlying creamy notes. It s very typical of Jean-Pierre s wines which are incredibly finely spun and tendre in style. Certainly not a typical Bourgogne Pinot Noir, this is always a superb buy. Domaine Joseph Voillot Pommard Code: C bottles 305 Jean-Pierre s Pommard is as far away from the rustic Pommards of old as you can imagine. Very elegant with ripe black fruits, herbal notes and supple, ripe tannins, it s already accessible and will be delicious on release. Domaine Joseph Voillot Volnay 1er Cru Champans Code: B bottles 255 Jean-Pierre considers Champans to be his top cuvée and fortunately, this walled vineyard was largely spared by Mother Nature in The vines average 60 years old but some were planted as early as These old vines give it a richness and density balanced by a silkiness of texture and overall finesse. Domaine Joseph Voillot Volnay 1er Cru Fremiets Code: B bottles 255 From a 1.5 acre plot whose vines date from 1932, 1950 and A lovely bouquet with dark fruits framed by a variety of spices. Powerful yet elegant with a really long and fresh finish. Domaine Joseph Voillot Pommard 1er Cru Pézerolles Code: B bottles 350 Pezerolles sits just above Epenots on the border with Beaune and produces arguably the most elegant and perfumed of Pommards. The 2016 has a beautiful floral bouquet with fresh berry fruit. Excellent precision and fluidity with a breezy, lifted finish. Domaine Joseph Voillot Pommard 1er Cru Epenots Code: B bottles 350 This was the most muscular and structured wine we tasted at Voillot. From vines over 50 years old, it has an intense bouquet with dark fruits, spice and blueberry notes. A Pinot Noir that manages to perfectly balance richness and freshness. Remoissenet Père et Fils Saint-Romain Blanc Code: C bottles 220 From vineyards in Combe Bazin, an area of Saint-Romain being considered for 1er Cru status. Rich and rounded with soft peach aromas and a streak of crisp, fresh mineral acidity, it s reminiscent of Meursault. Remoissenet Père et Fils Beaune 1er Cru Marconnets Code: B bottles 185 Marconnets sits on the far northern side of Beaune, near Savigny. There s lots of creamy perfumed oak on the nose nicely balanced by rich, old-vine fruit. Full and structured with a long, creamy finish. Remoissenet Père et Fils Nuits-St-Georges Code: B bottles 200 Remoissenet s Nuits-Saint-Georges comes from vineyards in the north of the appellation, near Vosne-Romanée and it s very silky and feminine in style. Crisp red berries come to the fore on the nose with a driving energy and freshness on the palate and lovely density of fruit. Remoissenet Père et Fils Vosne-Romanée Code: B bottles 220 As is typical of Vosne-Romanée, this manages to combine power and finesse. Rich, ripe black fruit is complemented by a silkiness of texture and a fresh, mineral finish. It s a complex, rich wine with layers of crunchy dark fruit, mineral notes and spice. Lyne and her team suffered significant damage in the April frosts, so we consider ourselves incredibly fortunate to have these wines to offer you. Lyne Marchive Domaine des Malandes Chablis Villages Code: C bottles 130 A lovely, fresh Chablis with mouth-watering citrus fruit, a hint of creaminess and clear minerality. Delicate floral notes combine with lovely lemon fruit on the crisp, fresh finish. Domaine des Malandes Chablis 1er Cru Vau de Vey Code: B bottles 160 This wasn t yet bottled when we tasted it in November but it was already very weighty with ripe, concentrated fruit and a lick of fine oak. There s still plenty of minerality and crisp citrus fruit to invigorate the palate with baked apple and vanilla notes on the long finish. Domaine des Malandes Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir Code: B bottles 185 Vaudesir is widely considered one of Chablis very best Grand Crus and this wine demonstrates why.
