Chevalier de Lascombes, Margaux, 2010 $ A rather ripe, modern style, with a big ball of red and black licorice leading the way for dark linzer torte and plum sauce notes. Chateau Bernadotte, Haut Medoc, 2005 $ Tea leaf aromas, with raspberry and blackberry, lead to a medium-to-full body, with soft, silky tannins and a pretty aftertaste. Chateau La Rose, Saint-Germain Bordeaux, 2010 $ Exceptionally tannic, broodingly backward offering displaying a dense ruby/purple color along with a provocative perfume of crushed rocks, flowers, cassis, black raspberries, and blueberries. Chateau Preuillac, Medoc, 2011 $ Cherry and black berry fruit aroma. Nice balance: fairly lean, fairly sinewy style with the oak a little raw at this stage and the tannins grippy but adding a nicely roughening edge. Folie de Roi, Madiran, 2010 $ Dark red berries on the nose with a bit of smoke and earth; vary smooth palate with silky tannins Chateau de Crouseilles, Madiran, 2010 $ Sturdy, well rounded wine with lovely length on the nose, considering. It's stock full of dark fruit, polished leather and warm earthy tones. Italy Talenti, Toscana, Trefolo, 2011 $ Dark red fruits with subtle notes of spice and leather. Smooth and lingering palate with sweet fruits and cherry with a touch of earth and leather. Attilo Ghisolfi, Maggiora Barbera D Alba, 2008 $ Plum backed up with some oak and plenty of volatility. With air, chocolate and tobacco emerge to add some complexity.

2 Talenti Rosso D Montalcino 2012 $ Earthy and mineral aromas greet the nose followed by the faint sweetness of a range of fresh, herbal aromas. This is complex and perfumed with, rhubarb and beetroot laid over ripe berry fruit. Zenato, Valpolicella, 2011 $ Dry and robust on the palate with an excellent, velvety texture, this wine offers fleshy aromas of wild berries, currant, black cherry and spice, framed by intriguing hints of chocolate. Spain Marques de Caceres, Rioja, 2012 $ Layered, stout and pure smelling, with aromas of cola, chocolate and modern, ripe berry fruit that roll out the welcome mat. Feels full and tannic, with toasty black fruit flavors accented by espresso and bitter chocolate. Finishes dark, with coffee and licorice flavors. Marques de Caceres, Crianza, Rioja 2010 $ Black fruits, earth notes and a hint of toast create a subtle, inviting nose. In the mouth, this is chunky but balanced, with mild tannins. Cassis and plum are the lead flavors, and the finish is mellow and fleshy in feel, with a certain lazy ease to it. Australia Coopers Crossing, Shiraz, 2013 $ Rich flavors and aromas of white pepper, dark plum and berries. Full bodied wine. Irvine, Barossa, Merlot, 2010 $ Plum, cinnamon and dried herb aromas lead to dense currant fruit on the complex and layered palate, which has a creamy oak backdrop. Piramimma, Mc Lauren Vale, Petit Verdot, 2011 $ Bouquet of kirsch, cherries, violets, red plum and cedar/vanilla oak. With the concentrated palate exhibiting spicy red currant, pomegranate, musk and tangy morello cherry, complemented by hints of vanilla bean. Mitolo, McLaren Vale, Jester, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2012 $ Full bodied, bright flavours of red cherry, cassis complemented by more savoury dark chocolate, dusty tobacco and dried herb with tight, bright acidity and a soft framework of tannin albeit a grainy textured finish

Ripe dark berries, plum and mulberry with a hint of regional mint highlight the abundant fruit flavours. Chile Montes, Colchagua Valley, Merlot, 2012 $ Medium-bodied with supple tannins and a juicy blackberry, cigar box and soy-tinged finish that shows good persistency. Montes, Colchagua Valley, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2011 $ Simple black currant, vanilla and violet bouquet that is joyful and well defined. The palate is mediumbodied with succulent tannin, crisp raspberry and dark cherry fruit, zesty acidity and lovely focus on the finish. New Zealand Misha s Impromptu, Central Otago, Pinot Noir, 2009 $ Bright cherry and wild herb flavours. An initial impression of sweetness quickly changes to a drying and quite sappy finish. White Wines France Comte Tolosan, Vin Le Fleur, 2012 $ Notes of fresh citrus fruits and citrus kind. Folie de Roi, Pacherenc Du Vic Bilh Sec, 2011 $ Wonderful balance. Combine delicate white blossom perfume, ripe citrus, even peachy fruit, and satisfying weight in the mouth with a flinty mineral backbone and dry, fresh finish. Herve Kerlann, Pouilly Fuisse, 2011 $ Plump Chardonnay, associated more with lighter, crisper wines. Herve Kerlann, Aligote, 2009 $ Dry in style, with floral and herbal notes, naturally enhanced by the variety s high levels of acidity.

Nice balanced acidity/sugar. Finish lingers and has some white stone fruit. Zenato, Delle Venezie, Pinot Grigio, 2013 $ Zesty fruitiness. Refreshing and soft with a smooth, dry finish. Zenato, San Benedetto, Lugana, 2012 $ Well-cut and lightly floral, with a smoky undertow and ripe notes of blood orange, pineapple and apple. Moderate finish. Australia Coopers Crossing, Chardonnay, 2013 $ Fresh stone fruit is balanced with a hint of nutty oak. Piramimma, Adelaide Hills, Chardonnay, 2013 $ Stonefruit, green apple, cashew and smoky oak all in balance. Katnook, Coronawa, Sauvignon Blanc, 2012 $ Youthful orange blossom with a touch of minerality. Chile 1870 Pacifico Block, Casablanca Valley, Chardonnay, 2010 $ This is a fresh yet tropical fruit and quince flavoured chardonnay Pacifico Block, Casablanca Valley, Sauvignon Blanc, 2010 $ A delicate white with lots of mineral, flint and sliced apple character. Full to medium body, fresh acidity and a clean finish.

Dry, medium-bodied, quite fresh and approachable with flavours of apple, green fruit, grapefruit and mineral. Peng Pagos, Maipo Valley, 2013 Crisp and racy with a balanced flavor. Showing notes of star fruit and green apple. New Zealand Misha s, Central Otago, Riesling, 2012 Medium dry with intense lime juice, slate/mineral and apricot blossom flavours. Impressively textured with good weight abd a lingering finish. Perfectly balanced with good acidity/sweetness tension. Misha s, Central Otago, Sauvignon Blanc, 2012 Less pungently fruity with more minerality and citrus focus. Bone dry with a good fruity acidity that drives a lengthy finish. Spain Marques de Caceras, Rioja, 2013 Fresh, fruity style. No oak, just bags of ripe fruit with a vibrant and clean finish. Sparkling Philippe Gonet, Belemita Blanc de blanc, Brut, 2004 Complex bouquet: smoky, grilled, nutty and candied, all underlined by a touch of acacia honey. Fleshy and welcoming palate with an elegant vanilla warmth and a buttery touch. Piere Cellier, Brut, Non Vintage Expressive nose of ripe braeburn apple. The flavors are easy and fun, with excellent balance. Santa Margarita Proseco Delicate and dry. Sparkles with a bouquet of peach and apple. Floral flavors with hints of citrus. Dolle Venezie Moscato Sweet tart flavor. Effervesence is long-lasting and low alcohol.
