1 Featured Wine of the Month 2015 Emmolo Merlot Born into two longstanding wine families in Napa, winemaker Jenny Wagner inherited a love of farming, an eagerness to get her hands dirty, and a willingness to push boundaries. The winery is named for Jenny's mother's family. Cheryl Emmolo opened the winery in 1994 and passed the reins on to her daughter Jenny in Grapes for this wine were sourced from Napa Valley s Oak Knoll district, which includes two family vineyards. The area's cooler weather, along with crop thinning and gravelly light soil, creates ideal conditions for producing a rich, distinctive Merlot. This wine is lush and supple on the palate, with expansive, dark berry flavors, a fresh earthiness, and smooth, leathery tannins.
