On this occasion, the IMA Award 2014 will be bestowed to a personality of the Austrian exhibition industry for his outstanding achievements in the last decades. Price: Invitation only Hofburg Vienna Gala dinner with Lord Mayor s welcome Thu, 25 June, 19h30 At Vienna s town hall, nationally elected officials will celebrate this special occasion with the IFES community. Built between mainly of natural stone, stone the town hall is one of the most important buildings of the Ringstrasse. Our gala dinner will take place in one of its most imposing halls, the t Stadtsenatssitzungssaal enatssitzungssaal with its gilded, with marquetry decorated wood ceiling and the green wallcoverings made of damask silk. 3 Wine tasting Fri, 26 June, 18h30 Come and taste some of Vienna s best wine! The winery Wieninger in Stammersdorf, one of the most famous wine growing areas of Vienna, cultivates premium wines which are sold worldwide. The owner Fritz Wieninger is a forerunner of high quality wines from Vienna. During our event, you will be served 3 different types of white wine together with snacks. You will also have the opportunity to visit one of the oldest wine cellars of Vienna. After the tasting, you will take a short walk to the family run wine tavern where you will join the rest of the group for a relaxed evening. Duration: 1 hour Price: It is Leslie P.C. While you listen to Viennese folkmusic (Schrammelmusik, you will enjoy a variety of cold and warm specialities and the homemade wine or grape juice. We will pick you up near your hotel and take an oldtimer tram to the outskirts of Vienna. In Stammersdorf, a village of its own for many centuries but now part of the growing city, you can still see the typical wine cellars and wineyards along the hills. 4 Spouse programme City walk Imperial Vienna Thu, 25 June, 9h00-13h30 This city walk starts at the Heldenplatz, in front of the Vienna Hofburg, and guides you through the heart of Vienna. First you visit the Imperial apartments and the Sisi Museum at the Hofburg Palace. Then you stroll through the smallest and oldest streets in the centre of Vienna passing the Michaelerplatz with the Spanish Horse Riding School, the Kohlmarkt, a world of famous brands, the Hoher Markt with its famous Anker Uhr, St Stephen s Cathedral and finally Kärntner Strasse, another famous shopping street in the inner city. To confront the guest not only with hard facts our WienTourismus / Christian Stemper guide will tell you some stories and fairy tales which make it as lovely as it is. Today, the Adolf Loos House belongs to the most famous Jugendstil buildings of its time. Since then the representatives of Art Nouveau achieved superb recognition. gnition. Visit with us the important buildings of Otto Wagner, the Viennese Secession and the post office and as highlight the unique church of Steinhof. This important Art deco church is normally closed for public and only opened on special request. The church was designed by Otto Wagner - leader of the Viennese Mondial architectural revival of the late 19th century. 6 Vienna Woods Fri, 26 June, 14h00-18h00 A half-day excursion which shows you the most beautiful sights of the southern part of the Vienna Woods. First you will visit the Cistercian Abbey of Heiligenkreuz (1133), a medieval cloister which houses the remains of the last Babenberger, the first rulers of Austria. You pass the romantic Helenental-Valley until you arrive at the Seegrotte where you will make a boat ride on the largest subterranean lake in Europe. On the way back you make a small stop in Baden, famous for its thermal springs. Passing the wine growing areas in the South of Vienna your tour will then end again in Vienna. 8 Gala performance Spanish Riding School Sat, 27 June, 19h00 In 2015, the Spanish Riding School celebrates celebrate its 450th anniversary with a gala performance at Heldenplatz in front of the Austrian Presidency. In honour of this special occasion, the Royal Andalusian usian School of Equestrian Art of Jerez will come to Vienna and join the riders and horses of the Spanish Riding School presenting "airs above the ground" and "work in hand". The Spanish Riding School in Vienna is the only institution in the world which has practiced for nearly 450 years and continues to cultivate classical equitation in the Renaissance tradition of the WienTourismus/Span.Hofreitschule/H. As a highlight of the tour you will visit Melk, the "Cradle of Austria", the magnificent Benedictine Abbey, a pearl of the Austrian Baroque. After lunch with typical local specialities history comes alive during a romantic boat-trip on the Danube.
