James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion 2017 (Australia), August points Crushed and pressed, cold-fermented in stainless steel with cultured yeast. It has respectable varietal flavour and length. 88 points. Drink by 2016.

2 Sauvignon Blanc 2013 James Halliday, Wine Companion 2016 (Australia), 1 August 2015 Drives cleanly into passionfruit, lime and lemon territory with cut grass and sweet pea notes as afterthoughts. Midweight, even tempered and not at all difficult to enjoy.

Sweet tropical fruit/ passion fruit/ touch toasty flavours, fine creamy mouth filling palate crisp acidity. Finishes long and sweet. David Ellis, North Shore Times (Australia), 7 September 2010 The Coonawarra Fruit Colony had been founded in 1891 by John Riddoch at Katnook, and today's Katnook has just released a 2009 Sauvignon Blanc made from fruit grown on the original block. Labelled Katnook Founder's Block it's got full on Sauvignon Blanc flavours and at $18 is a great match with fresh South Australian crayfish and will have you feeling like you're drinking a little bit of history, particularly as John Riddoch's original office is now Katnook Estate's Cellar Door.
