In buttered 1 Vi -quart casserole, arrange layers of tuna, asparagus, sliced eggs, Wheat Germ mixed with crumbs. Cover with cream sauce, top with crumb mixture, dot with butter. Bake in mod. oven (350 ) 30 min. 12 DRIED BEEF CASSEROLE 1 6-oz. package macaroni 2'/2-OZ. jar dried beef, chopped Vz cup chopped green pepper 1 cup sliced mushrooms 4 tablespoons butter 3 tablespoons flour 1 Vi cups milk 1 cup cooked tomatoes 1 cup grated American cheese 2 A cup Kretschmer Wheat Germ Cook and drain macaroni. Saute meat, green pepper and mushrooms lightly in butter; blend in flour. Add milk gradually, stirring constantly until thick. Stir in 2 A cup cheese until melted; add tomatoes. Combine sauce, macaroni and Wheat Germ. Pour into 1 VI-quart casserole; top with remaining cheese. Bake in a moderate oven (350 ) minutes. Makes 6 servings. LIVER LOAF 1 VI lb. beef liver 1 lb. ground pork 1 small onion, chopped 1 cup tomato juice 2 eggs, beaten VA cup bread crumbs VA cup Kretschmer Wheat Germ 2 teaspoons salt VI teaspoon pepper 2 tablespoons catsup 1 tablespoon Worcestershire VI cup tomato juice for basting Parboil liver 5 minutes; then cool and remove skin and veins. Put through food chopper. Combine with all other ingredients and mix well. Put into greased 9x5x3" loaf pan; pour tomato juice over top. Bake in a moderate oven (350 ) for 1 VA hours. Makes 8 servings.

Pour mixture into 1 VI -quart casserole or skillet. Cut a few slices of fat over top. Bake in a moderate oven (350 ) 1 hour. Serves 4. Add Kretschmer's to poultry stuffing; use it to bread chops and cutlets. Moisten with milk; add to hamburgers.
14 BAKED STUFFED ONIONS 4 large onions Vi lb. pork sausage Vi cup Kretschmer Wheat Germ salt pepper 1 can tomato soup Peel onions, boil minutes. Drain, remove center. Mix sausage, VA cup chopped onion pulp, Wheat Germ, seasoning; moisten with tomato soup. Fill onions with mixture. Sprinkle with Wheat Germ. Pour soup on top. Bake in moderate oven (350 ) 30 min. Serves 4. TOASTY BAKED TOMATOES Cut tomatoes in half. On each cut side sprinkle salt and pepper to taste, Vi teaspoon sugar, 1 tablespoon Kretschmer Wheat Germ, Vi teaspoon butter. Bake in mod. hot oven (400 ) 15 min. CORN PUDDING 1 No. 2 can cream style corn 2 eggs, beaten VA cup milk salt and pepper to taste ] A cup fine bread crumbs 1/3 cup Kretschmer Wheat Germ butter Combine corn, eggs, milk and seasoning. Mix crumbs and Wheat Germ. Alternate layers of corn mixture with crumbs in well-buttered baking dish. Dot each layer and top with butter. Sprinkle grated cheese over top if desired. Bake in moderate oven (350 ) 45 minutes. Makes 6 servings.
15 CHEESE DREAM CAKE 1 Vi cups cottage cheese 1 Vi tablespoons flour VA teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons cream 3 eggs, separated VA cup sugar 1 tablespoon melted butter 1 tablespoon lemon juice 1 Vi teaspoons grated lemon rind VA cup Kretschmer Wheat Germ Vi cup finely chopped nutmeats Mash cheese through strainer; mix with flour, salt, cream, beaten egg yolks, sugar, butter, lemon juice, rind, Vi cup Wheat Germ. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Butter 9" square pan, sprinkle with 2 tablesp. Wheat Germ. Pour in batter; top with Wheat Germ, nutmeats. Bake in moderate oven (375 ) 30 min. ORANGE RAISIN CAKE 1 large orange 1 cup raisins Vi cup shortening 1 cup sugar 2 eggs, beaten 1 cup milk 3 teaspoons baking powder 1 Vi cups sifted all-purpose flour Vi cup Kretschmer Wheat Germ VA teaspoon salt Squeeze orange; save juice. Put raisins, orange pulp, rind through food chopper. Cream shortening, sugar; beat in eggs. Stir in sifted dry ingredients and Wheat Germ. Stir in fruit. Pour into greased, floured 12x8x2" pan. Bake in moderate oven (350 ) 50 minutes. Topping Dissolve Vi cup sugar in juice of orange. Pour over top of cake as soon as removed from oven.

Makes 3 dozen.
18 PINWHEEL COOKIES 1 cup shortening 2 cups sifted brown sugar VI teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 eggs, unbeaten 2 A cup Kretschmer Wheat Germ 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour 3 teaspoons baking powder VI cup chopped nuts 1 square melted chocolate Cream shortening with sugar, salt and vanilla. Stir in eggs, Wheat Germ and flour sifted with baking powder. Divide into 2 parts. To one add nuts; to the other melted chocolate. Chill. Roll each part Va" thick. Place chocolate layer on top. Roll together. Slice. Bake in mod. oven (375 ) 10 min. Makes 5 dozen. PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES VI cup peanut butter VI cup shortening 2 cups brown sugar 2 eggs, unbeaten 1 teasp. salt, 1 teasp. cinnamon 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder VI teaspoon baking soda 1 cup uncooked rolled oats 1 cup Kretschmer Wheat Germ Cream peanut butter, shortening, sugar; mix in eggs, seasoning. Stir in flour sifted with baking powder and soda; then oats and Wheat Germ. Shape in rolls in waxed paper. Chill overnight. Slice thin; bake on ungreased cookie sheet in moderate oven (375 ) 12 minutes. Makes 6-7 dozen.

20 APPLE WHEAT GERM CRUNCH 5 or 6 cooking apples VA cup all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt Vi to 1 cup sugar 1/3 cup Kretschmer Wheat Germ 1 egg, unbeaten Vz cup melted shortening or cooking oil cinnamon or nutmeg Peel and slice apples into buttered 9" square pan. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together; add Wheat Germ and blend with fork. Break egg into mixture; work with fork until crumbly. Spread over apples; pour shortening on top. Sprinkle with spice. Bake in mod. oven (350 ) 45 minutes. CRUSTED LIME SNOW 1 package lime flavored gelatin 2 cups boiling water 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten Vi cup Kretschmer Wheat Germ Vi cup graham cracker crumbs Dissolve gelatin in water. Chill until partly set; beat frothy; fold in whites. Pour into 9" square pan; top with Vi mixture of Wheat Germ, crumbs. Chill. Cut in cubes. Sprinkle with rest of crumbs.
