Our tour will begin at the Downtown Azusa Goldline Station where you will be met by Metro staff and guided to Union Station. You will learn how to plan a trip, load your TAP card and safety & rider tips. Once at Union Station, you will be oriented to the location of the Red/Purple line, Bus Plaza, Metrolink & Amtrak, and a walk through the historic portion of Union Station. **Wear comfortable shoes and dress weather appropriate. *Lots of walking. We know that they have made a difference in many lives. AZUSA SENIOR CENTER DAY TRIPS 10 Huntington Harbor Cruise of Lights Thu., Dec. 20, 2018 Fee: $28.00 Leave: 3:00 p.m. Return: 8:30 p.m. We will arrive at the Garden Walk in Anaheim at approximately 3:45 pm for dinner (diner is on your own today). At approximately 5:00 pm, our group will depart for an evening in Huntington Beach for the 56th annual Cruise of Lights. The Huntington Harbour Philharmonic Cruise of Lights offers narrated boat tours through the waterways of Huntington Beach, CA. Spectators get to enjoy the beauty of thousands of lights and animated displays on brightly decorated homes, docks, decks, and boats. Enjoy this beloved holiday tradition. AARP Driver Safety Program ~Full 8-hour Course Mon., Feb. 4 and Tue., Feb. 5 9:00 am 1:00 pm Cost: $15 AARP Members $20 Non-members The AARP Driver Safety Program is the nation s first and largest classroom course, designed especially for drivers ages 50 and older. However, the course is open to licensed drivers of all ages. Course completion helps older drivers refine existing skills and develop safe driving strategies in today s challenging driving environment. There are no tests required. You may also be able to receive a premium discount from your auto insurance company, after completing the AARP safety driving course. Pre-registration is required. She helps every time she can by calling the table numbers for lunch, serving soup, and serving the tarter sauce on those Fridays that we serve fish. Alva is a busy lady but still finds time to participate in our exercise classes. She also is involved with other exercise programs around our city. She is doing some belly dancing to keep herself in physical shape. Alva loves to travel, and she and her husband Henry are always off on a new adventure. She was on a three month cruise earlier in the year. She is truly enjoying her golden years! Alva, thanks for being so willing and helpful at our center. VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH Diabetes Roundtable! Thursday, Dec :00 a.m. These meetings offer both preventative and important information on this controllable disease. This is a good time to ask any questions that you might have. 5 It s illegal to throw used syringes in the trash, yard waste barrels, recycling or compost bins NO COST for containers (2 per pick up) Remember, proof of residency and proof of necessity such as prescription is required in order to get a free container. Drop off box located in front of Azusa Senior Center. Residents can also deposit any rigid sealed containers such as soda bottles up to 2-liter in size. PAT PEREZ Pat is one of the busiest persons around here. She has been a volunteer at the senior center for many, many years. She serves both on the Nutrition Site Council and the Advisory Board. At lunch time, she helps serve lunch to our seniors and other times, you will find her helping out with our birthday celebrations, selling 50/50 tickets at our dances and adding her special touches to decorations at our special events. She has her hands pretty full as she also manages to bring her elderly mother,isabel, here to enjoy lunch and the fun things we do here. She led our Halloween parade as she pushed her mother in the wheelchair and at the end encouraged everyone to do a little monster mash! Thank you, Pat we really do appreciate you. 9

The suggested donation is $2.00 per meal. Guests years shall pay $3.00 per meal.
