Scams - We have heard of a telephone scam that we would like you to be aware of: scam - someone calling you on the phone, saying they are from the Social Security or Medicare / Medicaid Offices asking for your personal information in order to send you a NEW Medicare ID Card. Then enjoy a delicious Birthday Lunch at 11:30am. Join us in wishing everyone born in July a very Happy Birthday!! Seniors Night Out - Tuesday, July 10th- we ll leave the Defiance Center at 4:00pm and enjoy a delicious supper at Richards in Auburn. Seating is limited, so call Dawn to make your reservation after July 1st Wednesday, July 11th - we ll have a speaker provided by Genesis, Twin Rivers at 10:30am. Plan on joining us. Monday, July 23rd - Dawn Ludwig from Genesis- Twin Rivers will help you care for your nails and share some lively conversation at Nails & Tails!! Join Dawn at 10:00am in the Activities Room Wednesday, July 25th - Hearing Aid checks and cleanings will be available at 10:00am. This wonderful FREE service is provided by our friends at The Hearing Aid Center of Northwestern Ohio. At the DPOA s request, their donation was used to complete the cement work around the raised garden area; making our gardens safer and more beautiful. We also want to Thank The Defiance Co. Maintenance department for providing all the labor and talent on this project. We truly appreciate all you do for us!

Program provides eligible seniors, age 60 and older, a monthly package of approx. 50 pounds of USDA basic nutrient-rich food. July Vegetable Blends Below is this list of the delicious vegetable blends we ll be using in our July meals - enjoy! Fiesta Blend - broccoli, carrots, white beans, kidney beans, garbanzo beans, Italian beans and red bell peppers. Italian Blend - carrots, cauliflower, zucchini, Italian beans, baby lima beans and red bell peppers. Key West Blend- green beans, carrots and red peppers Oriental Blend - green beans, broccoli, onions and mushrooms Riviera Blend - green beans, wax beans and baby carrots Each participant may determine what they can comfortably contribute toward the cost of a meal.
