1 Thanks to all who came out for Open House and Grandparents Day in September! It was great to see our students and their families share some good times together. In October, we will have our Parent/ Teacher conferences shortly after our first report card comes home. We encourage everyone to make an appointment with their student s teacher to discuss academic progress and concerns. Conferences will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21 st and 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 22 nd. Our after school student pick-up is going very well. We would like to remind you of 2 very important points: Pine Crest Newsletter October 2015 A Note From Mr. Smith & Mr. Rossi Stomp Out Bullying! Please wear BLUE on Monday, Oct. 5th for National Stomp Out Bullying Day. 505 Kennedy Drive Georgetown, IL Book-It! Phone: Fax: *Those dropping off students in the morning to stay in a single line to the right as they pull in front of the school. The outside lane is for those parking their cars in the spaces or exiting the drive. Letting students out in the second lane can cause a safety hazard since they must pass through traffic to get to the sidewalk. Please NO parking in front of the building during a.m. drop-off. *The front driveway will be closed each day at 1:45. If you must pick your student up early for an appointment, you must do so before 1:40. Plates in windows help things move faster! The Book-IT program officially begins on Thursday, October 1 and goes through the month of March Each year Pine Crest Elementary participates in this program by rewarding student reading achievements with praise, recognition and FREE pizza! This year's program is titled "Read Your Heart Out" and partners with the Diary of the Wimpy Kid character. Each classroom or grade level sets reading goals and rewards the student with a certificate that can be redeemed for free pizza. Please encourage your children to work towards their Reading goal each month. LIBRARY LINES Devour great books at this year s book fair! The Book Fair is Monday, October 19 through Thursday, October 22. during school hours AND will be open 4-7:00 p.m. (Wed.) and 4-7:00 p.m. (Thurs.) during Parent-Teacher Conferences.
