4 2 Introduction About your new oven Thank you for buying a Fisher & Paykel Soft Touch electronic built-in oven. This model has some special features, which are explained in this supplementary user guide. Before using your new oven, please read the main user guide first, which gives you important safety and other information for all built-in oven models.
5 Clock and timer 3 Fig.1 Electronic Soft Touch control panel and clock Setting the clock To set the clock, press the CLOCK button, and then press the HOURS and MINUTES buttons until the clock shows the correct time. You can choose between 12 or 24 hour clock displays. To do this, press and hold down the CLOCK button and CLEAR button at the same time. Each time these buttons are pressed together the clock alternates between 12 and 24 hour displays. Using the timer You can use the timer at any time, even when the oven is not in use. The timer does not turn the oven off. To set the timer, press the MINUTE TIMER button, then the HOURS and MINUTES buttons to set the time you want. The display will show the remaining time, counting down in minutes and seconds. To see the time of day while the timer is running, press CLOCK. The display will briefly show the time of day, then return to showing the countdown of time remaining. When the time is up, the timer will beep and TIMER will flash in the display. To turn it off, press any clock button. To cancel the timer at any time, press CLEAR. Limiting the number of beeps You can limit the number of times your oven beeps to five beeps. To do this, press the CLOCK and FUNCTION buttons together. Do the same again to return to a longer beep time of approximately five minutes.
6 4 Operating your oven Fig.2 Electronic Soft Touch control panel, display and clock 1 Turn the oven on with the ON/OFF button. Your oven has been pre-set to FAN BAKE 160 C. 2 Scroll to the required function with the FUNCTION and buttons. Scrolling down, the order of functions is: FAN BAKE FAN BAKE WARM DEFROST GRILL H9 GRILL E9 FAN GRILL 3 Adjust the temperature in 5 C steps with the TEMP and buttons. Each cooking function has a pre-set temperature which can be adjusted, except for WARM. The temperature display will alternate between the set and actual temperature, and the red oven indicator light will glow until the oven has reached the set temperature. The oven beeps twice when it reaches the set temperature. 4 When you have finished cooking, turn the oven off by pressing the ON/OFF button. Note: the oven cooling fan comes on automatically at different stages of the cooking cycle. It blows out warm air above the door. When the oven is turned off, the cooling fan may stay on until the oven cools down. Locking the control panel For extra safety, you can lock the control panel to guard against accidental bumps, for example when you are cleaning the oven, or to stop children using the oven when they should not. To lock or unlock the control panel, press and hold the KEY LOCK button for two seconds. Note: for safety reasons, you can still turn your oven off when KEY LOCK is on.

FAN (FAN FORCED) Fan plus fan element Heat from the element around the fan is forced throughout the oven. FAN is perfect for multi-shelf cooking and batch baking, casseroles and baked potatoes. 1 Press the ON/OFF button. 2 Press the FUNCTION button once. 3 The default temperature is 180 C. Adjust this using the TEMP and buttons 4 Preheat the oven before use. BAKE Top and bottom elements BAKE is the traditional method of cooking. It is best to cook on only one shelf at a time in this function. Use BAKE for delicate food and foods that require long cooking, eg fruit cakes, bread and roasts. WARM Top and bottom elements WARM is a constant low heat, useful for keeping hot food warm or warming plates. It should not be used to reheat food as the food will not reach a temperature high enough to kill any harmful bacteria. 1 Press the ON/OFF button. 2 Press the FUNCTION button twice. 3 The default temperature is 180 C. Adjust this using the TEMP and buttons. 4 Preheat the oven before use. 1 Press the ON/OFF button. 2 Press the FUNCTION button three times. 3 The default temperature is 75 C. This cannot be adjusted.

You can adjust this between 50 C and 30 C, using the TEMP and buttons. 4 Preheat the oven before use. Grilled vegetables are quick to cook and full of flavour. GRILL-ECO Top inner element GRILL-ECO uses the inner area of the top element and is useful when you need to grill single servings or small pieces of food. For best results leave the door open at the first stop position. 1 Press the ON/OFF button. 2 Press the FUNCTION button five times. 3 The default temperature is H9, the hottest. Adjust this using the TEMP and buttons. 4 Preheat the grill before use. 1 Press the ON/OFF button. 2 Press the FUNCTION button six times. 3 The default temperature is E9, the hottest. Adjust this using the TEMP and buttons. 4 Preheat the grill before use. FAN GRILL Fan plus top elements FAN GRILL circulates hot air from the top elements and is excellent for food that would normally be fried. Large cuts of meat can be cooked using this function with results similar to using a rotisserie. Use FAN GRILL for dishes such as lasagne and moussaka. Fangrilled whole chicken is excellent. Fan grill with the oven door closed. 1 Press the ON/OFF button. 2 Press the FUNCTION button seven times. 3 The default temperature is 180 C. Adjust this using the TEMP and buttons.

Using the HOURS and MINUTES buttons, set the cooking time, eg 1 hour. COOK TIME will flash and AUTO will show in the clock display. 5 Select the time you would like the oven to turn off by pressing the button. STOP TIME will flash in the display. Enter the time you would like the food to finish cooking using the HOURS and MINUTES buttons eg 7.45 pm. If you are already at home to turn the oven on and only want the oven to turn off automatically, start cooking as normal, then follow step 5 to set a time for when you want the oven to turn off. If there is time to wait before automatic cooking starts, the current time of day and AUTO will show in the clock display. The red oven indicator light will go out, and the oven will switch off, but the oven lights will remain on. The oven is now set for automatic cooking. Note: the cooling fan may remain on. When automatic cooking starts, AUTO and the remaining cook time will be displayed and the oven will turn on. To see the stop time, press the STOP TIME button.
