GrillSmart is an oil management system featuring matte enameled cast iron grill grates that channel fats and oils away from the food while you barbecue. With this system you get great tasting healthy food and a barbecue that will be much easier to clean How is Grillsmart better than regular barbecuing? With regular grills the fats and oils can drip straight through to the burners and catch trays below. The fat begins to accumulate around the food rather than draining away. In turn this can cause flare-ups and leave food burnt and with an unhealthy metallic taste. GrillSmart grates are made up with a series of grooved channels that are a precise width to allow the perfect amount of fat to fall through for a better barbecue taste. The cooking surfaces are positioned so they are higher at the back of the grates and angle downward toward the front of the barbecue. The edges of the cooking grates are curved allowing fats and juices to drain freely and away from the food. The plates sit on a stainless steel collection tray and channel. Small ridges spaced evenly down the length of the tray create a space between the cooking plates allowing fats and juices to flow underneath.
