7 Waiter: Good afternoon. Welcome to the Tau-Tau Chinese Restaurant. How many persons? Gilbert: A table for two. Waiter: Do you have a reservation? Gilbert: No. Waiter: Okay. This way, please.

8 Waiter: Will this be alright? Gilbert: Yes, that s fine. Waiter: What kind of tea would you like? April: What do you have? Waiter: We have oolong tea, jasmine tea, Ti- Kuan-Yin, and Pu-Erh. Gilbert: What would you like, April? April: I d like oolong tea. Gilbert: I d like jasmine tea.

9 Waiter: The tea is on the house. And may I show you our menu now? Gilbert: Thank you. Waiter: Please take your time. When you are ready to order, please let me know. Gilbert: Yes, alright.

10 A few minutes later Waiter: May I take your order now? Gilbert: Umm I don t think we re ready yet. Can you explain the menu to us? Waiter: Yes. What kind of food do you prefer? April: I d like to try the local Taiwanese snacks. Gilbert: I prefer local Chinese food.

11 Waiter: Would you like to try radish cake and shark s fin pottage, ma am? April: What s radish cake? Waiter: It s made of rice and radish. It s one of the most famous snacks in Taiwan. April: It sounds good. I d like one. And what is shark s fin pottage?

12 Waiter: It s a kind of high-nutritional food made of shark s fin, meat, mushroom, and bamboo shoots. It s quite famous. But now for environmental reason and to protect the marine species, we don t use the real shark s fin, but I guarantee it s still very tasty.

13 April: Umm it seems delicious and healthy. Please get me one. How about you, Gib? Gilbert: I d like one, too. I also want to try sweet and sour fish.

14 April: Oh! I d like to try honey ham. One of my friends told me not to miss it. Waiter: Yes, and would you like to have some noodles or rice? April: I want fried rice-noodles. Gilbert: I d like Cantonese fried rice. Waiter: Would you like some dessert?
