The menu serves as a starting point, but feel free to ask one of our professional bartenders for advice, or if there is something you would like that is not listed herein. House rules We always go large, so 50ml measures are served as standard. 25ml measures are available on request as are 125ml glasses of wine. Don t ask for less ice, it is there to keep your drink cold and undiluted, so it is perfect from first to last sip. Remember our neighbours and exit the bar quietly. We can call you a cab if you have a long way to go. No trashy fancy dress, confetti, glitter, inflatables, etc. Trust your bartender - we re here to help. And remember, service isn t included!

Great with passionfruit or pear - just ask the bartender. Vanilla & Passionfruit Caipiroska Absolut vodka, fresh passionfruit, sugar and lime. Home-infused vanilla Grapefruit & Lychee Cosmopolitan A long-time favourite, Absolut vodka, Kwai Feh lychee liqueur, pressed pink grapefruit juice and naturally-sweetened cranberry juice.

6 The Reserve Collection Created by us to highlight forgotten classics, or just in a fit of creativity, we have selected some delicious drinks that sum up the Sub 13 attitude to cocktails. Using home made infusions over mass produced mundanity and with a nod to the golden age of cocktails; before they became the disco drinks served by many venues, we hope you enjoy drinking them as much as we enjoy making them. Zombie 9.00 Created by Victor Bergeron, founder of the legendary Trader Vic s, this longer version of the Mai Tai mixes just about everything Tiki in a potent but delicious drink. Its also worryingly moreish. Appleton 8, Goslings 151, Taylor s Velvet Falernum, pressed orange juice, fresh lime juice, pressed pink grapefruit juice, cinnamon, homemade grenadine, Angostura bitters and a dash of Absinthe... Mai Tai 8.50 Again, we have gone Trader Vic style for our menu. Appleton 8, Edmund Briottet Orange Curaçao, orgeat (almond) syrup, and fresh lime juice served short over cubed ice with a Goslings 151 float. The Sour 8.50 A venerable cocktail style that takes a strongly flavoured spirit or liqueur, mixes it with a citrus juice and some sugar, flavours with bitters and smooths with egg white. We use pasteurized egg white and suggest the following choices for the base: Luxardo Amaretto, Maker s Mark Bourbon, 1615 Pisco or Frangelico. Chocolate Martini 8.00 Choose between white or dark chocolate. With Absolut vodka, Mozart Chocolate liqueur and milk. Pudding in a glass. Cockatoo Pisco, mandarin liqueur, Chase Rhubarb, rhubarb bitters and egg white

7 Chocolate Orange Martini # Orange infused Absolut vodka, Mozart Black chocolate liqueur, Regan s orange and chocolate bitters. For those who want a delicious chocolate flavour without the heaviness of a milky cocktail. Negroni # Like a Negroni but with Byrrh Grand Quinquinoa instead of Campari, Williams Chase gin and Punt e Mes vermouth. The Jay Gatsby 8.50 Chivas Regal 12YO, Cherry Heering, Lillet Rouge aperitif and pressed apple juice. Dufftowner 8.50 Monkey Shoulder whisky, lemon juice and Lillet Rouge aperitif. A Scottish twist on a New York Sour, lengthened with a dash of soda. Aviation # Whitley Neal s unique botanicals including baobab tree fruit and cape gooseberry blend deliciously with Luxardo Maraschino liqueur, lemon juice and plum bitters instead of the classic liqueur de Violette. A brief history of Sub Sub 13 has always been the destination to enjoy a great cocktail, but the history of the venue goes back to the construction of the building in the 17th Century. The vaults and basements that make up our unique cocktail bar originally housed the domestic rooms for the house upstairs; the kitchen, laundry, pantries, coal storage and wine cellar. The superstitious occasionally see servant-like figures patrolling the rooms... Converted to flats and offices in the 1960s, the basement took on a new life as a bar. The much-loved Shades Wine Bar occupied these rooms until 2004 when Sub 13 -named for the thirteen steps down to the entrance- first opened its doors to the people of Bath.

8 Martinis The mixed drink in its simplest form - gin (or vodka if you must) flavoured with the delicate botanicals of a good vermouth. Choose your spirit, how dry you would like it and if you would like an olive or a twist. Dry Martini 9.50 We suggest Beefeater 24 gin and Noilly Prat vermouth, served dry and garnished with an olive, but the choice is yours. Martinez 9.50 Beefeater gin, Maraschino liqueur, Noilly Prat vermouth and orange bitters. The slightly sweeter progenitor of the dry martini, updated for a modern palate. Vesper 9.50 Beefeater gin, Absolut vodka, Lillet Blanc aperitif. James Bond s martini, although we chose to stir it for lighter aeration and a smoother drink. We also add a hint of Byrrh Gand Quinquinoa to replicate the quinine found in the original Kina Lillet specified for this drink. Manhattans The classic way to enjoy a fine whisky. Choose bourbon or rye, and whether you would like it dry, perfect (medium) or sweet. Manhattan 9.50 We suggest Maker s Mark bourbon, served just on the sweet side of perfect but the choice is yours! El Presidente 8.50 Havana Club Barrel Proof rum, Punt e Mes Italian vermouth, orange curaçao, Briottet orange bitters and a dash of homemade grenadine. A superb rum twist on the classic Manhattan.

9 Cocktail Masterclasses Our bartenders undergo a rigorous training programme to ensure that they are capable of shaking up the perfect concoction. Now you can benefit from their knowledge and expertise by arranging a cocktail masterclass, where you will learn the secrets of a good cocktail, and drink the fruits of your labour at the same time! Perfect for a hen party, team building or a bit of fun for a group of friends. Sessions last around an hour and a half, include Bellinis on arrival, eight demonstration cocktails, a one-to-one cocktail making experience for each participant, in the case of a hen party the group create a brand new cocktail for the hen, and finally a few shot games to finish off. The cost per head is with a 100 deposit required to confirm the booking*. 10 Daiquiris If ever there was an example of the simplicity of a cocktail that perfectly balances sweet and sour, it s the Daiquiri. Supposedly invented by Jennings Cox, a mining manager who, whilst stationed in Cuba ran out of his usual gin and turned to rum, mixed it with lime and sugar to make it more palatable. Natural Daiquiri 8.00 Havana 3YO rum, fresh lime juice and sugar syrup. Flavoured Daiquiri 8.00 Choose from pear, vanilla or peach. We add a dash of Licor 43 to our Vanilla Daiquiri as well to give it an edge! Hemingway 8.50 Havana 3YO rum, Maraschino liqueur, grapefruit juice, lime juice and a dash of sugar. Hemingway, a diabetic, favoured a sour Daiquiri balanced with grapefruit and cherry liqueur - we add a bit of sugar to make it more approachable! 11 Non Alcoholic Cocktails - all We can t always go large - so for those of your who are on the wagon, here are some suggestions... Immaculate Conception Ginger beer, lime and Tabasco. A spicy little number that while it doesn t contain any liquor it certainly packs a punch! Apple Mojito Like a Mojito, but with pressed apple juice in place of the rum. Passionate Peach Peach, passionfruit, pressed pineapple juice and orange juice. Apples and Pears Pressed apple juice, pear, vanilla, lime and fresh mint. Traditional Lemonade Justa like Mama used to make! Bloody Shame AKA a Virgin Mary Frappuccino A favourite of the bar team when needing an ice cold coffee pick-me-up (other than a beer) we thought we d put our secret-recipe frappé latte on the menu.

12 Bookings We offer table reservations and a guest list so you can get your evening planned in advance. On a Friday or Saturday we strongly recommend booking a table, this will give you a base for the night. There are three areas available for reservation, and a booking fee of 20 for bookings between 5pm and 8pm and 50 for bookings afetr 10pm. The Small Vault With leather seating for ten to fifteen people, this area is conveniently situated close to the main bar for easy refills. The Large Vault Similar to the small vault, this room has a large picture window at one end that overlooks the main entrance, so you can keep an eye on the new arrivals It can accommodate groups between eight and 28. The Perrier-Jouët Champagne Lounge Designed by renowned designer Shaun Clarkson (famous for the OXO tower and Harvey Nichols Fifth Floor Bar) this exclusive lounge has a very different feel to the rest of the bar, with bespoke leather sofas, a handmade carpet and unique artwork; it is the perfect spot for a more private, sophisticated party. It even has its own dedicated bar access. There is seating for twelve to forteen and space for a further eight standing. 13 Bottled Spirits We are very pleased to offer the following speciallyselected spirits for your table. Supplied inclusive of mixers and brought to your table they help to beat the queue during busy periods at the bar. Chase Vodka, EnglAND Made from King Edward and Lady Claire potatoes grown on Chase s own family farm, resulting in a very high quality base for their vodka. The vodka is exceptionally pure, with a beautifully creamy texture and deliciously sweet finish. Williams Chase Gin, EnglAND Again produced on their Herefordshire farm, this time using organically grown apples. Fermented then distilled into a beautifully crisp spirit base, which is distilled again with a selection of eleven wild botanicals. Even the water used to dilute the gin is taken from an aquifer that runs beneath the orchards. The gin itself is fruity and elegant with a distinctly dry finish courtesy of the unique addition of hops. Havana Club 7YO Rum, CuBA A multi-award winning rum from Havana Cub. Sweet and buttery on the nose with hints of toffee and spice. Full and rich on the palate with coffee, orchard fruit and an oaky finish. Maker s Mark Bourbon, USA Makers Mark is handmade in small batches with great attention to quality. Maker s mark also use the sourmash method to ensure a consistently delicious whisky. Each bottle is finished by hand with its characteristic red wax seal. Rich and fruity with aromas of honey and orange peel, along with butterscotch, spice and vanilla on the palate.
