4 DAY 01: ARRIVAL YOGYAKARTA CITY TOUR (NO MEALS) Arrival at Yogyakarta Airport, your English speaking Driver will be waiting Upon for you at the main gate, holding the sign board with your name. After a warm welcome you will have time to explore one of the UNESCO world heritage sites, the biggest Hindu Complex in Indonesia, known as the Prambanan Temples, locally called as Slender Maiden Temple. Partly renovated after the last strong earthquake in 2006, this elegant temple complex was built in the 9th century dedicated to the ultimate worship to the Trinity of Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. Later on you will visit the famous Sultan s Palace, still inhabited by the Sultan and his family. Proceed to the partly renovated ruins of the former Water Palace of the 1st Sultan of Yogyakarta, the Taman Sari complex, and stroll through the tiny lanes of the palace inner city with hundreds of little shops, restaurants and Batik and Wayang Kulit home industry.afterwards you will be transferred to your hotel. Check-in at your hotel and remainder of the day free for your own leisure. 5 DAY 02: THE SPIRIT OF JAVA (B) In a world where pollution, noise, crowds, unhealthy diets and stress are the norm, MesaStila offers an accommodation to escape from the demanding daily grind. In the morning you will be pampered with a 2-hours Spirit of Java package. This treatment uses traditional Jamu; a blend of natural ingredients that helps to encourage a feeling of wellness throughout the body. The Lulur mixture uses Turmeric and other ingredients to create a cleansing skin scrub, which is followed by an invigorating Javanese massage and a calming herbal bath, where you can reflect on the great, wonderful and magnificent things in life. In the afternoon you will take part at a guided Coffee plantation tour around the retreat to see the different processes of coffee production in Java. Taste a fresh-brewed coffee afterwards and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Accommodation at MesaStila DAY 03: TEMPLE WONDER (B, D) Wake up early today to visit the cultural highlights of Central Java. Borobudur is best seen at dawn, when the air is fresh and full of birdsong. As the mist begins to lift, the sun scales the surrounding volcanoes and terraced fields and highlights the stone reliefs and the many faces of Buddha. Glimpsing Borobudur for the first time is often a deeply felt emotional experience. Personal guides will bring to life the knowledge contained within the reliefs and you will appreciate the historic and cultural context of this enduring monument. Buddha s shrine and pilgrimage destination, was built in six square platforms topped by three circular platforms, and is decorated with stone relief panels and 504 life-size Buddha statues, each sculpted from a single stone. The monument occupies a modest plateau and from the top gallery, beautiful views of Central Java are revealed. The view has changed little over the centuries, embracing the Kedu Plain and its surrounding villages, looming Mount Sumbing, the twin volcanic mountains of Merbabu and Merapi and the Menoreh Hills. Return to MesaStila and have the rest of your day at leisure to relax or join the daily scheduled in-house activities. In the evening we invite you to a farewell dinner at the resort. 6 DAY 04: DEPART YOGYAKARTA TRANSFER OUT (B) If you wish, you can join the daily Yoga class at the retreat or start your day directly with another healthy breakfast. Depending on your departure flight, you might still be able to take part at the resort s daily activities before it s time to say good-bye. Your English speaking driver will meet you at the resort s lobby for your transfer to the airport to catch your flight to your next destination.
