5 I. DISEMBER 2011 PERANGKAAN PERDAGANGAN LUAR NEGERI MALAYSIA DISEMBER 2011 # 1. Eksport Malaysia pada bulan Disember 2011 meningkat sebanyak 6.8% kepada RM60.7 bilion, bulan ke bulan. Ini merupakan peningkatan sebanyak 17.0 mata peratusan berbanding penurunan sebanyak 10.2% (disemak) dicatatkan pada bulan November Sementara itu, import turut meningkat sebanyak 10.7% kepada RM52.4 bilion, peningkatan sebanyak 16.1 mata peratusan berbanding dengan penurunan sebanyak 5.4% (disemak) yang dicatatkan pada bulan sebelum. Berasaskan tahun ke tahun, eksport dan import masing-masing naik sebanyak 6.1% dan 10.4% daripada RM57.3 bilion (disemak) dan RM47.5 bilion (disemak) (CARTA 1). 2. Berdasarkan klasifikasi produk, peningkatan eksport sebanyak 6.8% (RM3.9 bilion) disumbangkan oleh kenaikan eksport jentera, radas & perkakas elektrik dan alat ganti (RM1.2 bilion); mesin pejabat dan kelengkapan pemprosesan data automatik (RM1.1 bilion); minyak & lemak sayuran, mentah dan bertapis (RM323.0 juta); pelbagai barang keluaran kilang (RM223.0 juta) dan besi & keluli (RM194.0 juta) yang menyumbangkan 77.8% atau RM3.0 bilion kepada jumlah peningkatan, berasaskan bulan ke bulan. 3. Pertumbuhan 10.7% (RM5.1 bilion) bagi import disumbangkan oleh kenaikan import petroleum, keluaran petroleum & bahan yang berkaitan (RM1.8 bilion); minyak & lemak sayuran, mentah dan bertapis (RM451.1 juta); jentera, radas & perkakas elektrik dan alat ganti (RM362.6 juta); bijirin dan sediaan bijirin (RM361.5 juta); kelengkapan pengangkutan yang lain terutamanya kenderaan keretapi dan pesawat udara (RM324.2 juta) dan bijih logam & serpihan logam (RM281.9 juta) yang menyumbangkan 71.1% atau RM3.6 bilion daripada jumlah pertumbuhan, berasaskan bulan ke bulan. 4. Pertumbuhan eksport Malaysia disumbangkan oleh kenaikan eksport ke Amerika Syarikat (RM592.1 juta), Kesatuan Eropah (RM553.5 juta), Australia (RM500.2 juta), Republik Korea (RM437.6 juta), Republik Rakyat China (RM319.6 juta), Thailand (RM306.7 juta) dan Republik Singapura (RM292.5 juta) yang telah menyumbangkan RM3.0 bilion (77.4%) daripada jumlah Nota: # Data bulan Disember 2011 adalah provisional dan tertakluk kepada pindaan dalam keluaran berikutnya. i

6 kenaikan, berasaskan bulan ke bulan. Bagi import pula, peningkatan disebabkan oleh kenaikan import dari Republik Rakyat China (RM986.5 juta), Kesatuan Eropah (RM837.3 juta), Republik Singapura (RM665.2 juta), Republik Indonesia (RM395.1 juta), Qatar (RM392.8 juta) dan Taiwan (RM381.4 juta) yang menyumbangkan 72.4% atau RM3.7 bilion daripada jumlah kenaikan. 5. Jumlah perdagangan Malaysia bernilai RM113.2 bilion pada bulan rujukan. Ia mencatatkan pertumbuhan positif sebanyak 8.6% berasaskan bulan ke bulan. Berbanding setahun yang lalu, jumlah perdagangan juga mencatatkan peningkatan sebanyak 8.1% atau RM8.4 bilion. 6. Lebihan dagangan bernilai RM8.3 bilion direkodkan pada bulan Disember Namun, lebihan dagangan ini jatuh sebanyak 12.4% berbanding RM9.5 bilion yang direkodkan pada November Berbanding bulan yang sama tahun lalu, ia juga mencatatkan penurunan sebanyak 15.1% (CARTA 1). 7. Barangan E&E terus kekal sebagai penyumbang terbesar kepada eksport dengan nilai RM20.7 bilion atau 34.0% daripada jumlah eksport. Ia mencatatkan kenaikan sebanyak 11.5% atau RM2.1 bilion berbanding bulan sebelumnya. Walau bagaimanapun, ia mencatatkan penurunan sebanyak 2.2% daripada RM21.1 bilion berasaskan tahun ke tahun. 8. Minyak kelapa sawit & hasil keluaran kelapa sawit, sumber pendapatan eksport kedua terbesar merekodkan jumlah nilai gabungan sebanyak RM7.0 bilion atau 11.5% kepada jumlah eksport pada bulan Disember Eksport minyak kelapa sawit, komoditi utama daripada kumpulan produk ini, bertambah sebanyak 2.7% daripada RM4.9 bilion berasaskan bulan ke bulan. Peningkatan ini disebabkan oleh kenaikan purata nilai seunit sebanyak 2.6% kepada RM3,197 per tan dan pertambahan volum eksport sebanyak 0.03% kepada 1.6 juta tan. Berbanding Disember 2010, eksport minyak kelapa sawit berkembang sebanyak 10.3% disebabkan oleh peningkatan volum eksport sebanyak 11.2% walaupun purata nilai seunit menurun sebanyak 0.8%. 9. Gas asli cecair (LNG) yang merupakan komoditi eksport ketiga terbesar, bernilai RM5.1 bilion atau 8.5% daripada jumlah eksport. Jumlah eksport LNG bertambah sebanyak 6.9% daripada RM4.8 bilion berasaskan bulan ke bulan. Ini disebabkan oleh peningkatan volum eksport sebanyak 10.4% kepada 2.2 juta tan. Sebaliknya, purata nilai seunit berkurang sebanyak 3.2% kepada RM2,371 per tan. ii

7 Berasaskan tahun ke tahun, jumlah eksport LNG berkembang sebanyak 50.5% disebabkan pertambahan purata nilai seunit sebanyak 40.2% daripada RM1,692 per tan dan kenaikan volum eksport sebanyak 7.4% daripada 2.0 juta tan. 10. Keluaran petroleum, komoditi eksport keempat terbesar yang menyumbangkan sebanyak RM3.0 bilion atau 4.9% kepada jumlah eksport, meningkat sebanyak 5.1% berbanding November Namun begitu, ia menguncup sebanyak 4.1%, berasaskan tahun ke tahun. 11. Petroleum mentah, sumber pendapatan eksport kelima terbesar yang menyumbang sebanyak 4.1% daripada jumlah eksport, menurun sebanyak 12.3% kepada RM2.5 bilion pada bulan rujukan. Ini disebabkan oleh kejatuhan volum eksport sebanyak 12.4% kepada 0.9 juta tan walaupun purata nilai seunit naik sebanyak 0.2% kepada RM2,710 per tan. Berbanding setahun yang lalu, ia mencatatkan pengembangan sebanyak 9.2% disebabkan oleh kenaikan purata nilai seunit sebanyak 34.8% walaupun volum eksport jatuh sebanyak 18.9%. 12. Kayu & hasil keluaran kayu, eksport keenam terbesar, berjumlah RM1.7 bilion atau 2.9% daripada jumlah eksport. Nilai eksport produk ini meningkat sebanyak 9.4% daripada RM1.6 bilion berasaskan bulan ke bulan. Berbanding Disember 2010, ia turut mencatatkan peningkatan sebanyak 0.6%. 13. Import bagi barang pengantara yang merupakan 65.3% daripada jumlah import, naik sebanyak 13.1% kepada RM34.2 bilion berbanding November Ia turut mencatatkan peningkatan sebanyak 7.8% daripada RM31.8 bilion berasaskan tahun ke tahun. II. JANUARI - DISEMBER 2011 A. PERDAGANGAN (CARTA 2) 14. Pada tahun 2011, jumlah eksport meningkat sebanyak 8.7% kepada RM694.5 bilion, manakala jumlah import meningkat sebanyak 8.6% kepada RM574.2 bilion berbanding tahun Jumlah perdagangan Malaysia pada tahun 2011 bernilai RM1.3 trilion, iaitu pertumbuhan sebanyak 8.7%. Imbangan perdagangan luar Malaysia mencatatkan lebihan sebanyak RM120.3 bilion, peningkatan sebanyak 9.4% atau RM10.3 bilion. iii

8 B. EKSPORT (CARTA 3) 15. Barangan E&E yang bernilai RM236.5 bilion, kekal sebagai eksport Malaysia yang terbesar menyumbangkan 34.1% daripada jumlah eksport pada tahun Eksport daripada kumpulan produk ini menurun sebanyak RM13.4 bilion atau 5.4% berbanding tahun lalu. Komponen utama iaitu barangan litar elektronik bersepadu yang bernilai RM75.9 bilion atau 32.1% daripada jumlah eksport barangan E&E, mencatatkan peningkatan sebanyak 13.6% berbanding setahun yang lalu. 16. Minyak kelapa sawit & hasil keluaran kelapa sawit kekal sebagai sumber pendapatan eksport kedua terbesar dengan jumlah nilai gabungan sebanyak RM83.4 bilion atau 12.0% kepada jumlah eksport. Minyak kelapa sawit iaitu komoditi utama daripada kumpulan produk ini, meningkat sebanyak 34.9% kepada RM61.1 bilion berbanding tempoh rujukan tahun Ini disebabkan oleh kenaikan kedua-dua purata nilai seunit dan volum eksport masing-masing sebanyak 23.9% kepada RM3,314 per tan dan 8.9% kepada 18.4 juta tan. 17. LNG yang mewakili 7.2% daripada jumlah eksport adalah komoditi eksport ketiga terbesar. Jumlah eksport LNG menokok sebanyak 29.0% kepada RM50.0 bilion berbanding setahun yang lalu. Peningkatan ini disebabkan oleh kenaikan purata nilai seunit sebanyak 19.1% kepada RM2,011 per tan dan peningkatan volum eksport sebanyak 8.3% kepada 24.8 juta tan. 18. Keluaran petroleum, komoditi keempat terbesar yang bernilai RM33.0 bilion atau 4.8% daripada jumlah eksport, melonjak sebanyak 29.3% daripada RM25.5 bilion yang direkodkan pada tahun Petroleum mentah komoditi eksport kelima terbesar berjumlah 4.6% daripada jumlah eksport, naik sebanyak RM1.2 bilion atau 4.0% kepada RM32.0 bilion semasa tempoh yang dirujuk. Purata nilai seunit meningkat sebanyak 36.1% kepada RM2,557 per tan, namun volum eksport menurun sebanyak 23.6% kepada 12.5 juta tan. 20. Kayu & hasil keluaran kayu iaitu komoditi eksport keenam terbesar, berjumlah RM19.8 bilion atau 2.9% daripada jumlah eksport. Ia menyusut sebanyak 2.4% atau RM496.6 juta berbanding tempoh rujukan yang sama tahun lalu. iv

9 C. IMPORT (CARTA 4 & 5) 21. Nilai bagi produk import utama adalah seperti di bawah:- a. mesin dan alat kelengkapan pengangkutan (RM256.1 bilion atau 44.6% daripada jumlah import); b. barang-barang dan alat-alat keluaran kilang (RM111.0 bilion atau 19.3% daripada jumlah import); c. bahan api mineral, pelincir, dsb., (RM67.5 bilion atau 11.8% daripada jumlah import); d. bahan kimia (RM53.9 bilion atau 9.4% daripada jumlah import); dan e. makanan (RM34.5 bilion atau 6.0% daripada jumlah import). 22. Komposisi import mengikut penggunaan-akhir bagi tiga kategori import terbesar adalah seperti berikut:- a. barang pengantara : RM385.2 bilion (67.1% daripada jumlah import); komponen utama ialah alat ganti & aksesori barang modal (kecuali alat kelengkapan pengangkutan) bernilai RM143.0 bilion atau 37.1% daripada jumlah barang pengantara; b. barang modal : RM81.0 bilion (14.1% daripada jumlah import); dan c. barang penggunaan : RM41.0 bilion (7.1% daripada jumlah import). 23. Apabila dibandingkan dengan tempoh yang sama tahun 2010, kumpulan barangan berkenaan telah mencatatkan kenaikan nilai seperti yang ditunjukkan di bawah:- a. barang pengantara : RM19.5 bilion (5.3%); b. barang modal : RM7.2 bilion (9.8%); dan c. barang penggunaan : RM6.5 bilion (19.0%). D. ARAH HALA PERDAGANGAN (CARTA 6, 7 & 8) 24. Sepuluh destinasi eksport utama Malaysia adalah Republik Rakyat China, Republik Singapura, Jepun, Kesatuan Eropah, Amerika Syarikat, Thailand, Hong Kong, India, Republik Korea dan Australia. Negara-negara ini menyumbang sebanyak RM535.0 bilion atau 77.0% daripada jumlah eksport Malaysia pada tahun v

Sepuluh sumber import utama Malaysia ialah Republik Rakyat China, Republik Singapura, Jepun, Kesatuan Eropah, Amerika Syarikat, Republik Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, Republik Korea dan Hong Kong yang bernilai RM463.3 bilion atau 80.7% daripada jumlah import Malaysia. 26. Sepuluh rakan dagangan utama Malaysia ialah Republik Rakyat China, Republik Singapura, Jepun, Kesatuan Eropah, Amerika Syarikat, Thailand, Republik Indonesia, Taiwan, Republik Korea dan Hong Kong. Negara-negara ini secara keseluruhannya menyumbang 77.9% (RM988.5 bilion) kepada jumlah perdagangan Malaysia. 27. Eksport ke Asia Timur Laut bernilai RM251.2 bilion atau 36.2% bagi tahun Ia berkembang sebanyak 12.2% daripada RM224.0 bilion tahun lalu. Peningkatan sebanyak 12.2% atau RM27.2 bilion ini disumbangkan oleh kenaikan eksport ke Jepun (RM13.2 bilion) dan Republik Rakyat China (RM11.1 bilion). 28. Eksport Malaysia ke ASEAN bernilai RM171.5 bilion (24.7%) pada tahun Ia mencatatkan peningkatan sebanyak 5.8% daripada RM162.2 bilion pada tahun Kenaikan 5.8% (RM9.4 bilion) ini disebabkan oleh eksport yang tinggi ke Republik Singapura (RM2.9 bilion), Republik Indonesia (RM2.7 bilion) dan Thailand (RM1.6 bilion). 29. Eksport ke Kesatuan Eropah berjumlah RM71.9 bilion (10.4%) daripada jumlah eksport. Ia berkembang sebanyak 4.7% daripada RM68.7 bilion berbanding tahun Bagi wilayah ini, Belgium dan Republik Persekutuan Jerman masingmasing telah mencatatkan peningkatan sebanyak RM1.07 bilion dan RM1.06 bilion. 30. Eksport ke Amerika Utara bernilai RM60.4 bilion atau 8.7% daripada jumlah eksport, menurun sebanyak 5.8% atau RM3.7 bilion bagi tahun Penurunan ini disumbangkan oleh eksport yang rendah ke Amerika Syarikat (-RM3.4 bilion) dan Kanada (-RM352.4 juta). vi

11 (TRANSLATION) MALAYSIA EXTERNAL TRADE STATISTICS DECEMBER 2011 # I. DECEMBER Malaysia s exports grew by 6.8% to RM60.7 billion in December 2011, monthon-month. This was an increase of 17.0 percentage point compared with a drop of 10.2% (revised) recorded in November Imports also registered a growth of 10.7% to RM52.4 billion, an increase of 16.1 percentage point as compared with a decline of 5.4% (revised) recorded a month before. On a year-on-year basis, both exports and imports rose by 6.1% and 10.4% from RM57.3 billion (revised) and RM47.5 billion (revised), respectively (CHART 1). 2. Based on product classification, the 6.8% growth (RM3.9 billion) in exports was attributed mainly to higher exports of electrical machinery, apparatus & appliances, and electrical parts (RM1.2 billion); office machines and automatic data processing equipment (RM1.1 billion); fixed vegetable oils & fats, crude, refined or fractionated (RM323.0 million); miscellaneous manufactured articles (RM223.0 million) and iron & steel (RM194.0 million) which contributed 77.8% or RM3.0 billion of total increase, month-on-month. 3. The 10.7% growth (RM5.1 billion) in imports was contributed mostly by larger imports of petroleum, petroleum products & related materials (RM1.8 billion); fixed vegetable oils & fats, crude, refined or fractionated (RM451.1 million); electrical machinery, apparatus & appliances, and electrical parts (RM362.6 million); cereals and cereal preparations (RM361.5 million); others transport equipment especially railway vehicle and aircraft (RM324.2 million) and metalliferous ores & metal scrap (RM281.9 million) which accounted for 71.1% or RM3.6 billion of total increase, month-on-month. 4. Malaysia s growth in exports was contributed by higher exports to the United States of America (RM592.1 million), the European Union (EU) (RM553.5 million), Australia (RM500.2 million), the Republic of Korea (RM437.6 million), the People s Note: # The December 2011 data is provisional and subject to revision in later issues. vii

12 Republic of China (RM319.6 million), Thailand (RM306.7 million) and Singapore (RM292.5 million) which amounted to RM3.0 billion (77.4%) of total increase, month-on-month. As for imports, the growth was attributed mainly to higher imports from the People s Republic of China (RM986.5 million), the EU (RM837.3 million), the Republic of Singapore (RM665.2 million), the Republic of Indonesia (RM395.1 million), Qatar (RM392.8 million) and Taiwan (RM381.4 million) which contributed 72.4% or RM3.7 billion of total increase. 5. Malaysia s total trade was valued at RM113.2 billion in the month under review. It posted a positive growth of 8.6% on a month-on-month basis. As compared with a year earlier, total trade also grew by 8.1% or RM8.4 billion. 6. A trade surplus of RM8.3 billion was registered in December However, the trade surplus declined by 12.4% as compared with RM9.5 billion in November It also dropped by 15.1% from the same month of 2010 (CHART 1). 7. E&E products continued to be the top export products which accounted for RM20.7 billion or 34.0% of total exports. It recorded an increase of 11.5% or RM2.1 billion as compared with the previous month. However, it posted a drop of 2.2% from RM21.1 billion on a year-on-year basis. 8. Palm oil & palm oil-based products, the second largest revenue earner, registered a value of RM7.0 billion or 11.5% of total exports in December Exports of palm oil, the major commodity in this group of products, rose by 2.7% from RM4.9 billion, month-on-month. This was due to increase in average unit value by 2.6% to RM3,197 per tonne whilst export volume grew marginally by 0.03% to 1.6 million tonnes. As against December 2010, exports of palm oil went up by 10.3% which was attributed to increase in exports volume by 11.2% whilst average unit value declined by 0.8%. 9. Liquefied natural gas (LNG), the third largest export commodity, made up RM5.1 billion or 8.5% of total exports. Total exports of LNG rose by 6.9% from RM4.8 billion, month-on-month. This was a result of a growth in exports volume by 10.4% to 2.2 million tonnes. In contrary, average unit value declined by 3.2% to viii

13 RM2,371 per tonne. On a year-on-year basis, total exports of LNG increased significantly by 50.5% which was due to rise in average unit value by 40.2% from RM1,692 per tonne and increase in exports volume by 7.4% from 2.0 million tonnes. 10. Petroleum products, the fourth largest export commodity valued at RM3.0 billion or 4.9% of total exports, grew by 5.1% as compared with November Nevertheless, it declined by 4.1%, year-on-year. 11. Crude petroleum, the fifth export earner which accounted for 4.1% of total exports, dropped by 12.3% to RM2.5 billion during the month under review. This was mainly attributed to decline in exports volume of 12.4% to 0.9 million tonnes, although the average unit value grew by 0.2% to RM2,710 per tonne. As compared with a year ago, it recorded an increase of 9.2% as a result of rise in average unit value of 34.8%, despite decline in exports volume by 18.9%. 12. Timber & timber-based products, the sixth largest export earner, amounted to RM1.7 billion or 2.9% of total exports. Exports value of this product increased by 9.4% from RM1.6 billion, month-on-month. As compared with December 2010, it registered a marginal increase of 0.6%. 13. Imports of intermediate goods, constituted 65.3% of total imports, increased by 13.1% to RM34.2 billion as against November It also registered a rise of 7.8% from RM31.8 billion, year-on-year. II. JANUARY DECEMBER 2011 A. TRADE (CHART 2) 14. In 2011, total exports increased by 8.7% to RM694.5 billion while total imports grew by 8.6% to RM574.2 billion as compared with Total trade for the year of 2011 was valued at RM1.3 trillion, rose by 8.7%. Malaysia s external trade balance recorded a surplus of RM120.3 billion, an increase of 9.4% or RM10.3 billion. ix

14 B. EXPORTS (CHART 3) 15. E&E products, valued at RM236.5 billion, remained as Malaysia s leading export which accounted for 34.1% of total exports in Exports from this category of products declined by RM13.4 billion or 5.4% from a year ago. The major component, namely electronic integrated circuits, which accounted for RM75.9 billion or 32.1% of total exports of E&E products, recorded a growth of 13.6% from a year before. 16. Palm oil & palm oil-based products, continued as the second largest export revenue earner with a total combined value of RM83.4 billion or 12.0% to total exports. Exports of palm oil, the major commodity in this group of products, escalated by 34.9% to RM61.1 billion as compared with the corresponding period of This increment was attributed to both higher average unit value and exports volume which grew by 23.9% to RM3,314 per tonne and 8.9% to 18.4 million tonnes, respectively. 17. LNG, which made up 7.2% of total exports, remained as the third largest export commodity. Total exports of LNG surged by 29.0% to RM50.0 billion from a year ago. This was due to increase in average unit value of 19.1% to RM2,011 per tonne and rise in exports volume of 8.3% to 24.8 million tonnes. 18. Petroleum products, the fourth largest export commodity valued at RM33.0 billion or 4.8% of total exports, went up by 29.3% from RM25.5 billion recorded in Crude petroleum, the fifth largest commodity which accounted for 4.6% of total exports, grew by RM1.2 billion or 4.0% to RM32.0 billion during the period under review. The average unit value increased significantly by 36.1% to RM2,557 per tonne. However, exports volume dropped by 23.6% to 12.5 million tonnes. 20. Timber & timber-based products, the sixth largest export earner amounted to RM19.8 billion or 2.9% of total exports. It declined by 2.4% or RM496.6 million over the same reference period of last year. x

IMPORTS (CHART 4 & 5) a. machinery and transport equipment (RM256.1 billion or 44.6% of total imports); b. manufactured goods and articles (RM111.0 billion or 19.3% of total imports); c. mineral fuels, lubricants, etc., (RM67.5 billion or 11.8% of total imports); d. chemicals (RM53.9 billion or 9.4% of total imports); and e. food (RM34.5 billion or 6.0% of total imports). 22. The compositions of imports by end-use for the three major categories were as 21. The values of major import products were as below:- follows:- a. intermediate goods : RM385.2 billion (67.1% of total imports); the main component was parts and accessories of capital goods (excluding transport equipment) amounted to RM143.0 billion or 37.1% of intermediate goods; b. capital goods : RM81.0 billion (14.1% of total imports); and c. consumption goods : RM41.0 billion (7.1% of total imports). 23. Comparatively, the above items recorded the following increase in value over the same period in 2010 as shown below:- a. intermediate goods : RM19.5 billion (5.3%); b. capital goods : RM7.2 billion (9.8%); and c. consumption goods : RM6.5 billion (19.0%). D. DIRECTION OF TRADE (CHART 6, 7 & 8) 24. Malaysia s top ten export destinations were the People s Republic of China, the Republic of Singapore, Japan, the EU, the United States of America, Thailand, Hong Kong, India, the Republic of Korea and Australia. These countries accounted for RM535.0 billion or 77.0% of Malaysia s total exports in xi

The top ten import sources of Malaysia were the People s Republic of China, the Republic of Singapore, Japan, the EU, the United States of America, the Republic of Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan, the Republic of Korea and Hong Kong which amounted to RM463.3 billion or 80.7% of Malaysia s total imports. 26. Malaysia s top ten trading partners were the People s Republic of China, the Republic of Singapore, Japan, the EU, the United States of America, Thailand, the Republic of Indonesia, Taiwan, the Republic of Korea and Hong Kong. These countries collectively contributed 77.9% (RM988.5 billion) of Malaysia s total trade. 27. Exports to North East Asia was valued at RM251.2 billion or 36.2% of total exports in 2011, expanded by 12.2% from RM224.0 billion last year. The growth of 12.2% or RM27.2 billion was due to higher exports to Japan (RM13.2 billion) and the People s Republic of China (RM11.1 billion). 28. Malaysia s exports to ASEAN amounted to RM171.5 billion (24.7%) in It registered an increase of 5.8% from RM162.2 billion in The rise of 5.8% (RM9.4 billion) was mainly attributed to higher exports to the Republic of Singapore (RM2.9 billion), the Republic of Indonesia (RM2.7 billion) and Thailand (RM1.6 billion). 29. Exports to the EU amounted to RM71.9 billion (10.4%) from total exports. It rose by 4.7% from RM68.7 billion as compared with For this region, Belgium and the Federal Republic of Germany recorded a rise of RM1.07 billion and RM1.06 billion, respectively. 30.
