1 In house ladies group of the Hawthorn Football Club Number 2 April 2018 FASHION PARADE On Tue 1 st May we are holding a fashion parade at the Black Pepper store in Knox City Shopping Centre starting at 10:30am. It is in aid of Ovarian Cancer Australia a most worthwhile cause. There will be raffle prizes donated by Black Pepper plus morning tea. There are plenty of cafes & restaurants in the centre for those ladies who wish to stay for lunch. (Booking form attached) We require 3 models for the parade so here is your chance to volunteer to strut-your-stuff. This was a terrific event last year and with your support we hope this year will be even better. SEASON LAUNCH 2018 We had a slightly different launch this year. We enjoyed a very appetising morning tea in the Bistro at Box Hill Golf Club. It was a fun morning with a very entertaining and informative talk from Chris Nanni HFC s Senior Corporate Sales Executive. He explained that the proposed move to D..(an unmentionable suburb according to the President Jeff Kennett) will be known as the Kennedy Community Centre. PRE-EASTER COFFEE MORNING Once again our ladies were magnificent in the lead-up to this Coffee Morning donating lots of colourful Easter eggs, bunnies, chocolates etc. All these donations were skilfully made into baskets and boxes thanks to our talented Win! which we then raffled on the day. After hot cross buns, coffees and teas we got down to the business of drawing the raffle. Everyone got a raffle prize and we raised $ for the Royal Children s Hospital Appeal. As always you ladies were magnificent many, many thanks. Page 1

2 SPIRIT OF TASMANIA TOUR We were collected by the bus from the Box Hill Hawks carpark so convenient to be able to safely park there. We were on the road early which was good and even better it was school holidays so the run was super easy. We stopped just before the boat and Spirit of Tasmania tour organizer Debbie produced tea, coffee and biscuits which were gratefully received. Everyone loved the boat and was amazed at how good it actually was it is definitely a step for many of us. Set off to Williamstown for lunch which was incredible, FRESHLY cooked blue grenadier served on a plate with chips, very generous serves and everyone raved about it. To walk off the lunch there was time to wander around Nelson Place in the sun and time for shopping before back on the bus with our tour man who was so amazing! Got back to Box Hill about 4.30 or so of course traffic home is always worse. We presented Debbie with a Hawks bag and Tea Towel which she was pretty rapt with especially as they take the St Kilda cheer squad over for our game so she will bring them out that weekend! KARRALYKA CENTRE MUSIC MORNING On 17 th of April we are off to Karralyka Centre, Mines Road, Ringwood East In 2018, it will be the centenary of the end of WW1. To help commemorate this historic occasion we are to enjoy music from the eras of WW1, WW2 and Vietnam War, against a backdrop of historic slides on the big screen. Prior to the show delicious treats, tea and coffee will be served from 9:30am. Bookings for this event are now closed. Page 2
