Beekeeper Supplies Dear Potential Beekeeper, Our first Informative webpage is an overview of some of the equipment you will need in your endeavours to become an awesome beekeeper. It is essential that the right supplies are used in beekeeping. Beekeeping is a hobby that could be dangerous. But, beekeepers can minimize their chances of being injured by using the right supplies. Equipment is also needed in the extraction of the honey but, there are also supplies that beekeepers need in order to properly manage and maintain the colonies of bees. A large aspect of beekeeping is keeping the beekeeper safe while they are tending to the bees. They do this in a number of ways. One way that beekeepers protect themselves is by wearing protective clothing. Protective clothing includes a hat and veil, gloves and a beekeeping suit. The face is the most vulnerable part of the body that can be stung. It is extremely important for even experienced beekeepers to protect their faces with a hat and veil. The beekeeping suit consists of a light weight, white full length suit. It is not easily penetrable by the bee s stinger protecting the beekeeper from the bee s venom.

Although some beekeepers find wearing gloves too cumbersome while performing delicate beekeeping tasks, gloves serve as an important part of protecting the beekeeper s hands while working with the colony. Most beekeepers also use a "smoker" as a way to calm the bees in order to work with them. A smoker is a device that is designed to emit smoke by using various fuels. Many different natural types of fuel can be used in a smoker. Some beekeepers use fuels like hessian, twine, burlap, pine needles, corrugated cardboard, or rotten wood. Beekeepers can also use fuels like pulped paper and compressed cotton, or even aerosol cans of smoke. The smoke initiates a feeding response within the bees in preparation to possibly having to leave the hive due to a fire. The smoke also masks the alarm pheromones that are released by the colony s guard bees when they sense an intruder. As the colony is confused, the beekeeper has an opportunity to open the hive and work without triggering a defensive reaction. Although bees are more than capable of finding food on their own, some beekeepers supplement their bee s diet with sugar syrup. This prevents starvation during bad times of the year and it also stimulates the laying of eggs. In order for beekeepers to feed their bees they use a feeder. Different kinds of feeders are available to beekeepers. Hive top, pail or division boards can be used as inside feeders during the winter. During the summer when the bees are most active outside of the hive, an entrance feeder can be used.

The largest part of keeping bees has to do with what you house them in. Beekeepers use artificial hives to house their bee colonies. They use a wax foundation to encourage bees to build comb in a way that is convenient for the beekeeper to harvest. Foundation is a thin sheet of wax with a hexagonal cell base pattern embossed on both sides of it. It also assists the bees so that they do not have to use as much effort in the construction of the combs. Ok, keep your eye open for part two tomorrow in your box! 4 Understanding the Beekeeping Suit and Beestings Dear Friend of the Bees, Hello again and welcome back... In part one you learned the basic tools and supplies you will need to start beekeeping. I hope you found the information useful. Today, I want to continue a bit more on equipment, but more specifically on the bees suit itself as it is an important piece of equipment. The first part of preparing yourself to work with bees is understanding the bee s first line of defence. Even with an understanding of bee behaviour, most beekeepers also wear some protective clothing. Many people are allergic to bee stings. But, sometimes the only way that someone discovers that they are allergic to bee stings is the first time that they get stung. If you are considering keeping bees, you should first determine whether or not you are allergic to bee stings. A good way of doing this would be to get yourself a mentor beekeeper and spend some time with them when they work their hives. Maybe even let a bee sting you to find out. A lot of

seasoned beekeepers do not even wear gloves anymore as they have built up such an immunity that they do not need them. They are also immune for the most part to the pain. Let s look at why this happens. Even very experienced beekeepers get stung. In fact, some beekeepers believe that the more stings a beekeeper receives, the less irritation each one will cause to the body in the future. They believe that it is important for the beekeeper to be stung a few times during the season. With frequent bee stings the beekeepers develop higher levels of antibodies due to the reaction of the bee venom which offers them a resistant to stings in the future. But, to minimize the amount that they are stung, even very experienced beekeepers usually wears gloves and a hooded suit or hat and veil. Although, some experienced beekeepers sometimes choose not to use gloves because they inhibit some of the delicate work of working with bees. Plus, a bee sting that is received on a bare hand can usually be quickly removed by scraping it with a fingernail in order to reduce the amount of venom that is injected. A person s face and neck are the most important areas to protect because defensive bees are attracted to the a person s breath. There can be much more pain and swelling on the face than a sting received elsewhere on the body. Plus, it is difficult for the beekeeper to remove the bee sting from their face without looking in a mirror. It is important to learn how to approach the bees calmly in order to avoid an aggressive assault from a large group of bees that is targeting the face. Beekeeping suits are full length jumpsuits that are worn by the beekeeper when they are tending to the bee hive. The protective suit that beekeepers wear is usually light in colour, typically white, and made out of a smooth material.

A bee suit that is light in colour provides the largest difference from a bee colony's natural predators like bears and skunks which tend to be dark-coloured and furry. The beekeeping suit also gives the beekeeper a way to remove stings and venom sacs simply with a tug on the clothing. Protective clothing may also hinder or reduce the venom from the bee-stings from entering into the body. The stings that are left in the fabric of the suit will continue to pump out an alarm pheromone that attracts aggressive action and further stinging attacks from the bees. In order to reduce the risk of the bees picking up the scent the next time that the beekeeper visits the hive, the suit should be washed regularly. They can also rinse their hands in vinegar to minimize the bee s attraction. I hope you are enjoying the information that we are sharing with you so far! I've got a lot more to come! If you want to really learn the tips, tricks and secrets of beekeeping with full details, be sure to seriously consider the Total Urban Beekeeping Mastery package on the internet at our main site,: Have a great day and in part three we shall be looking at Honey. 7 The Top Bar Hive/ An Alternative Beekeeping Method Dear Beekeeper, Welcome to the next part of building your knowledge about bees. I really hope that you have decided to go for it. There will be challenges off course but you will love the journey. Guaranteed! Imagine that first spoonful of your own pure organic honey! Today we are going to talk about what kind of hive you should get. By far the most popular is the Langstroth hive and we will talk about this later. Today, I wanted to show you an alternative which might make your life that little bit easier, especially as a beginner. The Top Bar beehive is not a new concept. Historical reference to the top-bar hive dates back to the 1600 s. Most of today s top bar bee hives are derived from work in the 1960 s. It was perfected for use in Kenya, Africa, and is often referred to as the Kenya Hive. Today it is also used in many other developing countries for it s simple design and cost effective management methods. In recent years it has also become more popular in the United States.

The traditional Langstroth beehive consists of several boxes (supers) and numerous other parts that are either difficult to build or expensive to buy. In addition to the beehive, the Langstroth hive requires many other pieces of equipment to harvest honey and manage your bees. Not so with the top bar hive as you can read below. Simple and Maintenance-Free The top bar hive has only a few components: the hive body (box), 20 to 30 top bars (frames), and a lid. That s all you will ever need. Compare that to your Langstroth hive. Bees build their own comb which eliminates the need for costly frames. The top bars are re-used after the harvest. Non-Invasive Design The top bar hive is healthier for bees. To check your bees, you will not have to take the whole thing apart. Hence, your bees will be less disturbed by your presence and checking of the comb. Easy Harvest To harvest your honey, you simply remove the bars with honeycomb. Unlike traditional methods, you won t have to take the hive apart and disturb the bees as much. Not only is the top bar hive less stressful to harvest for you, it also does not disturb the bees as much. In addition to honey, the top bar hive has more beeswax to harvest. You also do not need a honey extractor/centrifuge or uncapping knife which saves you dollars. Smoking is completely unnecessary and many top bar hive users do not wear protective clothing either. (For the beginner I do advise to use some kind of protection, gloves and veil as the minimum!) Once you remove the honey comb, the bees will go about their business as usual. Try that on a Langstroth hive. Healthier Bees The top bar hive is designed for the bees optimal living conditions. This makes a colony much stronger and enables it to fight off pests and diseases on their own, much better than in a Langstroth hive. Besides healthier bees this will save you hundreds of dollars in medication as well as disappointment.

Why doesn t everyone use top bar hives? The top bar hive is not designed for maximum honey production, although there have been reports otherwise. For the hobby beekeeper a few pounds less honey are well worth the ease of management. You will harvest more beeswax with a top bar hive though. Any hobbyist should have more of an interest in keeping healthy bees than in squeezing out a few more pounds of honey from a stressed, overworked colony. With just one top bar hive, you will still have more than enough honey for your whole family and friends. Just a reminder, if you purchase your own copy of The Total Internet Bee Package on the Web (if you haven't already), you will get multiple "how to" guides. Everything from checklist, timetables, audio read books, organic gardening and lawn establishment books as well as scientific and extremely detailed books on bees for those who want to delve a little deeper such as on the anatomy of bees etc... In other words this is the information you need to establish and work your bees. We have left no stone unturned. All the best, Alexandra Gabriel The Total Beekeeping Mastery Package

Beekeeping, Honey Bees and Honey Dear Friend of the Bees, In the last few lessons we have focused on the equipment and what a beekeeper actually uses when they are into the process of beekeeping. Now let's take a look at that all important and vital thing called honey. After all this is one of the main reasons you want to keep bees right? No chemicals, all organic, the joy of working with nature... with yummy food as a bonus. Beekeeping can be an enjoyable and rewarding activity. Not only does the beekeeper have the benefit of pollination of any nearby gardens, they are also able to enjoy delicious honey. Everyone knows the expression busy as a bee and it is true. In fact, bees work so hard bringing nectar back to the hive to make honey that after about 35 days of life, they actually wear out their wings and their usefulness to the colony and die. The bees store the honey which can then be used as food during times when flowers aren't blooming. If it is a good season with a lot of nectar producing flowers, the bees are able to collect a lot of nectar and they end up making much more honey than they could ever eat by themselves. The beekeepers are then able to harvest a good amount of honey to use for themselves or to sell for profit.

It is possible for beekeepers to profit from the honey that their bees are producing by selling two different types of honey. The honey that is easily extracted from the hive is liquid honey. Beekeepers are able to remove it from the honey combs by the use of centrifuge equipment. These machines are called extractors. Beekeepers are also able to sell honey in another way; they sell pieces of the comb. Comb honey is honey that is still in the original wax combs that the bees made. Although this honey is less adaptable to use in cooking or with mixing in tea, it is enjoyed by those who prefer its natural flavours. It is not widely known that honey comes in lots of different colours and flavours. Different flowers have different scents. Therefore the nectar that is given off by the flower will smell and taste different as well. Soil chemistry is another thing that determines how honey tastes and looks. Honey that is made from the nectar of alfalfa which grows in drier, alkali soil, may vary from white to clear. On the other hand, honey that is made from the nectar of buckwheat which grows in more acidic soils tends to be very dark. Plus, the quality of the honey comb that the bees make is a factor in the colour and taste of honey. The colour of honey can also be golden, red, and even green hues. It is very important that they follow state and federal regulations for processing, labelling, and handling food products when beekeepers are processing honey and other types of bee products. It is a real business and local governments may vary in the guidelines that they have set up regarding beekeeping in the area. Beekeepers must also consider marketing strategies to sell their honey and other types of bee products. Where will they sell their honey and what types of consumers are they targeting for sales?

Beekeeping is a rewarding hobby but when the beekeeper is trying to turn a profit, they must view their hobby like a business and make decisions that will allow them to not only survive but thrive. All the best, Alexandra Gabriel The Total Beekeeping Mastery Package

Beekeeping and Understanding the Bee Hive Dear Bee Lover. If you are serious about beekeeping, this is the package for you. You can see more about it or get your copy at: This is an article on the Langstroth Hive which is the most widely used today. Remember that I did give you a great alternative, especially if you are not a commercial keeper. We also discuss where to keep your hive. The main aspect of beekeeping has to do with the hives in which the bees are kept. Over the years beekeepers have improved upon the hives for the bees in order to make honey gathering easier. The Langstroth hive is the most commonly used hive today. It is what is called a movable frame beehive. The support structure of the Langstroth hive is a rectangular wooden frame which holds the combs within it. There are typically nine or ten of these combs inside the frame.

Amazingly, there is no top or bottom of the frame. The combs hang freely within the frame. The combs are made of a sheet of wax or plastic foundation. The bees are able to produce wax and build honeycomb by using the wax sheets as a starting point. They are then able to deposit honey and pollen into the cells of the comb. The box is designed to easily be able to remove the frames full of honey to be extracted. Some hobby beekeepers within the United States are using top-bar hives that are commonly found in Africa. A top-bar hive has bars across the top of the structure which allows the honey bees attach and hang wax combs from. Different from the frames that are used in a Langstroth hive, the combs on bars cannot be reused after the honey extraction. This type of design results in a lower production of honey. But the honey from the clear yellow combs produced in a top-bar hive is of the highest quality. It can be sold as an in-comb honey product. Regardless of which hive design the beekeeper decides to use, certain aspects of keeping these hives on the property must be considered. First off, before the beekeeper decides to keep bees on their property they must research the local restrictions to keeping bees found in some areas. They should also consider the amount of room that is available on their property and the placement of the hive. The bee hives should not be placed near homes or areas that are used for recreation. Bees can be bothersome to some people especially those who suffer from bee sting allergies.

The bee hives also needs to be placed near nectar and pollen sources in order to give the bees easy access to a food source. Some beekeepers use bees solely to pollinate their crops. The hive should also be placed near a fresh water source. This can be a natural water source or something that is supplied by the beekeeper. Another important aspect that should be considered when placing a bee hive on one s property is predators and vandals. The hive needs to be protected from natural predators like bears and skunks and from human vandals that might be interested in gathering some free honey. The hive also needs to be protected from severe weather conditions and it needs to be accessible throughout the year. Although bees are most active during certain times of the year, beekeeping is a job that lasts throughout every season of the year. Have a great day and hopefully you have decided to start your journey and have taken the steps to do so. All the best, Alexandra Gabriel The Total Beekeeping Mastery Package

Dear Fellow Beekeeper, I hope that you are finding all this information really useful. So far we have looked at the supplies and equipment a beekeeper uses, we looked in particular at the beekeeper s suit, the top bar hive and acquiring bees. We also looked at the benefits of honey and now, we are going to have a bit of fun and give you an idea of some of the yummy foods you will be able to prepare with your own honey. In fact, honey out of your hive is thick and white like a thin paste. It becomes clear liquid when heated. Cooking With Honey/ The Healthy Sweetener If you want to be able to cook sweets without the negative health effects of refined sugar, honey is an excellent option. Among other reasons, honey is metabolized more slowly by your body, meaning that you are less likely to get a sugar high after eating something made with honey. Honey can be challenging to cook with, though, for several reasons. So many people don t cook with it because they don t know how. But once you know how to use honey in your favorite kitchen creations, it s not hard at all to use. The first challenge that honey presents is that it burns more easily that normal sugar. This problem is usually eliminated by doing your cooking or baking at a slightly lower heat.

The main hurdle to cooking with honey is that it is a liquid. Replacing sugar with honey will ruin some recipes if you don t make an allowance for the extra liquid that the honey adds. Most muffins, simple quick breads, yeast breads, etc you can make the substitution without any adjustment. Cakes, cookies and some other recipes you should decrease the amount of liquid in the recipe to account for the honey. Honey is also very easy to use in pies. Since they are already somewhat liquid, you can replace the sugar with honey. If the pie filling seems too runny, just add a little extra thickener before you pour it in your pie shell. The flavor of honey can sometimes be an issue, but not usually. If you are making a recipe that you don t want the flavor to be noticeable, there are several things you can try. First of all, get the mildest flavored honey you can. Usually that will be a very pale clover honey. (The paler the honey, the sweeter and milder the flavor, in general.) If necessary, you can use part honey, and part some other sweetener, such as apple juice concentrate, agave nectar, stevia, or even sugar if you have to. Honey Honey is not often seen on many lists of healthy foods, but don t let that fool you. Eating honey daily increases the amounts of antioxidant in the blood, helps to prevent constipation, and reduces cholesterol and blood pressure. If you are running low on energy, reach for the honey, not sugar. Honey does a better job of maintaining blood sugar and energy than other sweeteners. And choose dark honeys over light ones, because they are higher in antioxidants and flavor. One to two teaspoons several times a week should do the trick. Honey Recipes Honey is easy to cook with. It doesn t need to be refrigerated and if it crystallizes, you can simply warm it up before you use it. It s a delicious addition to a peanut butter sandwich and it s amazing on top of pancakes. But honey is more than something you add to pancakes or sandwiches, it can be the premier ingredient in a recipe. If you want to add more honey into your daily diet, enjoy the following easy to make recipes. Honey and Oil Vinaigrette 1/3 cup - honey 1/4 cup - balsamic vinegar 3 Tablespoons - soy sauce

2 cloves - garlic, coarsely chopped 1/3 cup - olive oil Combine the ingredients in a blender and pulse until smooth. Pour over your favorite salad greens and enjoy. You can keep this dressing in your refrigerator for a week. Honey Glazed Acorn Squash 2 - acorn squash 1 cup plus 1 tablespoon - water ¼ cup honey (Try sage honey for a nice flavor) ½ teaspoon - kosher salt For Honey Butter: ½ cup - unsalted butter ½ cup - honey Sea salt to taste Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut the squash in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds. Place a cup of water in the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange squash with pulp facing up. Combine honey, salt, and a tablespoon of water, in a small bowl. Brush the top of the squash. Cover pan with foil and bake for thirty minutes. Make the honey butter while the squash is baking. In a small sauce pan melt the butter and cook until it begins to brown. Add the honey and salt. Set aside to cool. Remove the foil from the squash and bake for another 15 minutes or until fork tender and golden brown. Serve the squash with a spoon of the honey butter on top and a sprinkle of sea salt. 19 your olive oil. When the oil is hot, add your chicken thighs skin side down. Cook for three to five minutes, flip and cook for another fifteen minutes or until done. Discard the marinade. Honey Bee Cocktail 2 oz. Jamaican dark rum 1/4 oz. honey 1/2 oz. lemon juice Pour the rum, honey and lemon juice into a chilled cocktail shaker half-filled with ice cubes. Shake well, strain into a cocktail glass, and enjoy. Honey Lemonade If you prefer a non-alcoholic beverage try this delicious treat. 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice 1/2 cup honey 1/4 cup peeled fresh ginger slices Fresh mint sprigs 2 cups water 4 cups ice cubes Combine the lemon juice, honey, ginger, and one chopped sprig of mint in a large pitcher and stir, pressing the mint and ginger to release flavor. Add the water and stir until the honey dissolves, then add the ice and pour into glasses. Garnish each glass with a sprig of mint for a festive look. There s no end to what you can make with honey. From barbecue sauce to baklava, honey is a time tested food ingredient. Find a few favorite recipes, purchase a variety of honey found at your specialty food market, and enjoy the flavor and health benefits honey can provide.

Have a great day and hopefully you have decided to start your journey and have taken the steps to do so. All the best, Alexandra Gabriel The Total Beekeeping Mastery Package

Health Benefits of Eating Honey Dear Beekeeper, Today, we are going to talk about your end product and that is the honey. We are going to talk about a few (only) of the health benefits of eating pure honey. You can find all of them in our Total Beekeeping Mastery Package at You know that there are many forms of sugar. You can get sugar from sugar beets, sugar cane, and from corn in the form of corn syrup. We also use maple syrup, molasses, and manufactured sweeteners to flavour our foods. And new sugars have shown up on marketplace shelves. There s Stevia and Agave made from plants as well as coconut sugar which is a sugar produced from the sap of flower buds of the coconut palm. None of these sugars has the same health and nutrition properties that honey has.

According to the National Nutritional Database, honey has: 64 calories in one tablespoon protein calcium Iron phosphorous potassium sodium zinc vitamin C Thiamin Riboflavin Niacin Vitamin B-6 Honey doesn t have any fat or cholesterol. In addition to having a significant number of nutrients and minerals, honey has other health and healing properties. A Natural Source of Fast Energy Your body turns food into glucose which it then uses to create ATP for energy. Honey is already broken down to a very basic level which means that your body can use it almost at once. It doesn t have to go through a lengthy digestion process, like a sandwich might, to become energy for your body. In fact, your body can begin converting honey immediately. This means it s a fast source of fuel, which can be particularly important if you exercise. Honey is a fantastic pre or post workout snack and many endurance athletes consume honey during their workout to provided sustained energy. There are now many sports nutrition products made from honey because it is so easy for your body to manage and healthy too. Honey has a low glycemic index, which means it doesn t cause a spike in your blood sugar levels. This helps manage your insulin response and give you energy without the sugar rush associated with most sweeteners. Additionally, honey has been shown to possess some healing properties.

Immunity Booster Hospitals in Israel studied the effects of honey on the immune system. They found that it was effective in decreasing the occurrence of acute febrile neutropenia in 64% of their patients. Acute Febrile Neutropenia is when a high fever reduces a person s white blood cell count. In the same study honey also stabilized haemoglobin levels and improved the quality of life in 32% of the cancer patients involved in the study. Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Bacterial Honey also has many healing properties. It is both an anti-inflammatory and an anti-bacterial. It s commonly used to alleviate sore throats. As well, you can use it as a cough suppressant instead of cough medicine. A spoonful of honey will coat the throat and reduce pain and soreness. As well, a 2007 study by the Penn State College of Medicine, found that honey offers a safe and effective alternative to children s cough medicine. They studied the effects of buckwheat honey given before bedtime and found that it provided better relief of night time cough and sleep difficulty in children than no treatment or dextromethorphan (DM), a cough suppressant found in many over-the-counter cold medications. And honey, when given to children over the age of one, has no harmful side effects unlike Dextromethorphan. Honey did a better job reducing the severity, frequency and bothersome nature of nighttime cough from upper respiratory infection than DM or no treatment. Honey also showed a positive effect on the sleep quality of both the coughing child and the child s parents. DM was not significantly better at alleviating symptoms than no treatment. Honey is a powerful and soothing antioxidant and antimicrobial. It is often used to treat cold symptoms and as a source of fast energy. While honey is exceptional for your nutritional wellness, it can also be used in a number of beauty and first aid treatments. There are off course a lot more application but there is too much to talk about in one .

Beekeeping Information: A summary Dear Fellow Beekeeper, Today, I thought that I would summarise all that we have learnt so far so that it is clear in your mind some of the steps that you must take to be a successful beekeeper. Beekeeping is the controlled raising of bees in hive in order to gather honey. It has a long history and is not only a wonderful hobby, beekeeping is also a profitable business. But in order to reap the benefits of this fascinating hobby, a good deal of knowledge must first be learned. In order to get started in beekeeping, you have to make sure that you have the right equipment. The first thing that a beekeeper needs is the basic components of the hive. The bee. Beekeepers can start their bee business by buying package bees, buying an already established bee colony or collecting by swarms. But for beginners it is recommended to buy packaged bees. Removing the honey from the hive can sometimes be challenging but it is important not to leave the honey in the hive for too long. If it is left in the hive for a long time, the colour of the honey will be darker and the bees will not have more room to store honey.

The colour of the honey does not affect the taste but most people would prefer light coloured honey. It is equally important not to harvest the honey too soon. Honey that is harvested too soon contains too much water and it might spoil or ferment. The best indicator of when honey is ready is the bees. When the beekeeper sees wax caps over the honey cells, then it is time for harvesting the honey. The best time to harvest the honey is during a sunny day or in the morning when your bees are busy. Before you starts beekeeping you will have to make sure that your local government allows beekeeping in your area. But, the benefits of adding bees to an area are large. Without mellow honey bees dominating an area, larger and more aggressive insects like wasps and hornets will move in. Plus, as everyone knows, bees are the best thing for the local plant life. As long as the beekeeper places their hives in an area that is free from houses and recreational areas, your experience with beekeeping will be fulfilling. 27 Is a Beekeeping Guide Necessary? Dear Fellow Beekeeper, I hope you have enjoyed all the information so far. I know I sure have enjoyed preparing this information to help you. I just love bees also and I love gardening. I hope that you will join me in this very enjoyable hobby and that together we can reap the benefits of working with these amazing creatures. While you most likely will not make a lot of money keeping bees and selling the honey out of only one or two hives, beekeeping can be extremely enjoyable to those who invest themselves in it. Sometimes the passion might be evident within you; but most people do not know how to start. The best way to start beekeeping is to get yourself a beekeeping guide. A beekeeping guide will help you to answer some of the most important questions about your new hobby. First off, how does someone get started beekeeping? It is a good way to get the answers to questions that every beginner will ask. A guide will be able to give you answers about how to find out if they allow beekeeping in your area or how to get around this. After all they do keep bees in the middle of the city.

Most places do allow hobbyist to keep bees. If the pleasant, well-mannered honey bees are not dominating the area, soon the angry, hostile, aggressive stinging insects such as wasps, hornets, and feral bees soon move in. Most people understand this and appreciate honey bees and their pollination techniques. Another thing that beginner beekeepers will ask is where they can buy their beekeeping supplies. It can be intimidating purchasing supplies from a company that you are not familiar with. It is not like they have beekeeping supplies handy at your local store. Most people do not like to invest their time and money in purchasing items from a company that they have not heard of because they do not know what to buy and what questions to ask. They fear, and rightly so, being ripped off. Also there are so many choices, how do you know which one is just right? Well, we can help with that. Just scoot over to our main section by clicking on the link below. By referring to a beekeeping guide, you will be able to get your hands on a list of manufactures that other beekeepers have used and have had good experiences with. Maybe you have an idea of the kind of supplies that beekeepers need. Maybe you might understand the basic idea of how to use them. But, let s face it, beekeeping is not like other hobbies. You cannot be inflicted by hundreds of poisonous wounds playing with a model train set. Bees are living creatures that have the ability to inflict pain and injury to people. Beginners should not just have an idea of how to use the equipment properly and how to approach the bees, they should be absolutely sure and knowledgeable about it. These are important questions that a beekeeping guide will be able to answer for you. Plus, isn t the point of keeping bees to be able to enjoy their honey? How can a beginner fully understand the correct way of collecting honey without a guide to explain the process to them? Producing honey is not an exact science.

Some years the supply of honey will be good. Other years it might not be as plentiful. But, a beginner might not fully understand this and might second guess the process if they are not overflowing in a plethora of jars filled with honey. While many aspects of beekeeping depends on common sense, there are many aspects of it that need to be learned. Without a helpful guide to show a beginner the right steps to take, the beginner might lose the hive and all of the lovely creatures that dwell within it. Go ahead, take the plunge. Join me in an incredible adventure. The Ultimate Total Urban Beekeeping Mastery Package will give you everything that you need to know to set yourself up successfully with as many hives as you want. By the way, we recommend that you start with two hives. There is no more time required to tend to two hives, then to tend to one and that way you have a security blanket if something goes wrong with one hive. Don t worry, even the most seasoned beekeepers have things go wrong. That s what happens when you deal with nature, but you will be better equipped to deal with it and keep going if you have a guide.
