When we sweat our bodies lose water and sodium. Shown here are representations of how much of each we lose on average each day. Read the journal article here to see what happens if you don t get enough sodium in your diet to replace what you lose.

Volume 7. June The Health Benefits of Sodium Dr. Peter Vessers, MD Sodium helps with water balance in the body. It helps to pump water into cells. Because sodium is tied so closely to water in our bodies it is very important. When we sweat we lose a lot of sodium so it is especially important to have a regular intake of it in hot environments. Modern table salt is a common modern source of sodium which is why your sweat and tears taste salty. Halite is nature s best source of sodium. Put simply, without enough of it in your diet you will die. A lack of sodium can lead to: Vomiting Headache Weakness Low blood pressure Confusion Dizziness Muscular irritability Death

The Prince of Halite A Czechoslovakian Fairy Tale Once upon a time there was king who had three daughters, who were to seek a husband. The two oldest daughters found men with lots of gold to show to the king. The youngest, however, had met and fallen in love with a young man in secret. When she explained that she needed her father s approval he said that she was not to worry, that he would appear before her father and show his great wealth. The young man told the king that he had no gold but he was the Prince and he would inherit his father's kingdom full of halite. The father grew very angry and yelled that halite was worthless and his daughter could not marry him. The prince then laid a curse on the kingdom. From then on, there would be no halite in the land and every bit of halite would turn to dust. At first the king thought nothing of the curse, but slowly the fields withered without halite, the people grew ill and left the kingdom in droves. The food had no flavor, and illness spread. Eventually The prince began to feel bad and returned to the girl and brought her some halite. The girl took it to her father and he told her he had been mistaken, that nothing was more precious than halite and with that, he embraced his daughter and future son-in-law and they all lived happily ever after.

A timeless tale about the value of things we take for granted wrapped in a love story. This retelling of the classic Czechoslovakian Fairy Tale The Prince of Halite will charm readers of any age. The Prince of Halite

Once upon a time there was a king who had four beautiful daughters. He wanted to use their beauty to build his wealth so he would only approve their marriages if they found a rich husband. The three older daughters all met men with lots of gold but the youngest fell in love with a man who had none. 1 6 The king agreed and the two were wed. The curse was lifted, halite returned the land and they live happily ever after. The End

The king realized his huge mistake. He went to the prince and begged him to remove the curse. The prince did not want the people to suffer any longer so he agreed, but only if he could marry the king s daughter. 5 2 The girl explained to her father that the man she loved was the Prince of Halite and though he had no gold he had power over all the halite in the world. The king laughed and said worthless! and forbade her to ever see the man again.

When the prince heard of the king s order he sent a wizard to him. The wizard said I ve come to show you your great mistake. From this day forward there shall be no halite in your kingdom. If you try to bring it in it will simply disappear. The king laughed again and asked Why should I care? The wizard said You ll see. 3 4 A few days later the king visited the market. He saw many of his people looking very sickly. The meat they were selling had turned rotten. What is happening here? he asked. The merchants all said the same thing. Our halite just dries up whenever we bring it into the country. None can be found anywhere.

The Wangaran Deathblade is a unique weapon. An enemy with the riches to make swords out of the rare and valuable metal would surely terrify their opponents. And since gold does not rust when wet and is not worn down by sand, this golden blade is very durable in harsh weather. Unfortunately, when actually used in battle, the weight and softness of gold make it a terribly ineffective material. Gold is extremely heavy so the sword is hard to swing controllably. Gold is also so soft that if a Wangaran Deathblade strikes an enemy s shield or sword the gold will easily bend, lose its sharp edge, and leaving the Wangaran warrior completely defenseless.

Scimitars have been used by many warriors throughout history but the Arabians are famous for popularizing them. The curved blade easily slashes through cloth or leather armor. While not particularly intimidating to see due to its thin size and common appearance, the weapon remains greatly feared by opponents who understand the power of a steel blade. Against any other metal weapon the scimitar is likely to come out victorious.

vs. Using high-powered computer software our scientists have simulated 1,000 battles between a Wangaran and Arabian warrior. According to the simulation the Arabian warrior would win over 97% of the time (972 battles out of 1000.) This is incredible. We ve never had any battles with so high a percentage. The simulation data showed that the golden Wangaran deathblade simply had no chance against a steel scimitar. Gold s value is based in part on how rare it is. You may think with all the wedding rings and coins in the world there would be a lot of gold available. Think again! Look at this poster to get an idea of how rare this mineral really is.

If you took all of the gold that has been found and mushed it into a cube it would be: about the size of a small office building. only 1/3 rd the height of the Washington monument! less than the size of a tennis court.

Usefulness One part of a mineral s value is what you can make with it. Due to the high value of gold and the unknown value of Halite we are not going to let you just play around with it. Instead we have provided two objects that function similarly to them. Gold, when flattened, bends and molds much like aluminum foil. Halite, in it s natural form, is like a brittle rock.

When you truly want to eat elegance try our new edible gold flakes.. Each shaker comes packaged in a solid glass cube for greater ` elegance. Great for special occasions like weddings, anniversaries and birthdays or just to show that special someone you treasure them. The flakes are completely flavorless and are completely harmless to eat (unless you eat too much). Make your meal sparkle with Edible Gold Flakes from Epicurean. Sprinkled in ice cream As a topping on pizza Mixed with your favorite drink

-Cookies taste sweeter! -French Fries taste saltier! -Try it on vegetables! -Use it to make ice cream! Discovered deep in caves in the deserts of Northern Africa, halite is a mineral that seems almost magical in all it can do. It can make almost any food taste better from sweet to salty. With just a pinch of halite added you ll be amazed at the new tastes you ll discover. That s why we call it The Flavor Enhancer. Halite also has the incredible ability to make food last longer! Just rub it into your freshly cut beef and it will stay fresh and ready to eat for weeks. You won t even need to freeze it! Halite is all-natural and comes directly from the Earth. It has no extra chemical or preservatives. Don t miss your chance order now! Food Emporium
