2 Guido Tremolini and Simona Faroni moved from Italy to Northwest Florida in 1996 with the goal of introducing authentic Italian gelato to the U.S. Market.. Started with a facility less than 1,000 square feet. Introduced Gelato & Sorbet product lines to the retail market. Facility expansion to include partial-system automation & increase production capacity. Purchased 3 acres of land, now totaling 5 additional acres of expansion room. Excellent rating score for the annual Safe Quality Food (SQF) 2000 Level 3 recertification, the highest rating possible. The Global Food Safety Initiative requires a rigorous food safety management system to ensure the delivery of safe food to consumers worldwide. SQF is a GFSI (Global Food and Safety Initiative) compliant program, a worldwide, non-profit movement to create a single standard for the safety rating of food production. A Level 3 Certification represents the company s exceptional attention to reducing the points where food may come in contact with hazardous materials.
