3 HOSTING AN EVENT We know how to throw a good party at Avenue. Weddings, birthdays, engagement drinks or wine tastings, we have great style, a central London location in the heart of St James and most importantly an organised and enthusiastic team dedicated to making every detail of your event a success. Originally designed by American architect Rick Mather in 1996, the grand, high-ceilinged restaurant and bar has been transformed by Russell Sage Studios to give the feel of a glamorous Manhattan loft space with eclectic modern art and design features, with a contemporary New American menu and wine list to match. The restaurant and bar can accommodate up to 150 seated or 300 standing, with a private dining room available for groups up to 20. The room sets itself apart with modern design features including a stunning light installation and a floor-to ceiling plaster cast of a bookcase, contrasted with a beautiful antique wooden dining table. Want to talk shop? We also cater for private breakfasts and corporate meetings, with a 46 LCD screen and laptop connection available for presentations. The bar at Avenue is a destination in its own right for standing receptions and cocktail parties up to 20, serving up craft beers and classic cocktails inspired by the US Prohibition era, including a regularly changing list of An American in London cocktails paying tribute to great American bartenders who moved to London during Prohibition. The mirrored bar back displays an array of vintage US bourbons, a speciality of the bar, alongside a small but innovative list of New American bar snacks. Our civil ceremony license makes Avenue the perfect venue for your entire wedding celebration, accommodating up to 150 seated and 300 standing. The ceremony will take place in the main restaurant with plenty of space for your reception in the bar. Once you have officially tied the knot our team will begin the transformation of the restaurant into a stunning space for your wedding breakfast. We will ensure that every moment of your special day is a memorable one. Our dedicated events manager will oversee all the arrangements, from helping you plan your bespoke menu with our head chef Michael Blizzard, previously of Bar Boulud, to running the event on the day.
