2 HOW BRIGHTON ROCKED TO THE FPA AWARDS The biggest and brightest FPA awards night ever was enjoyed by 450 FPA members and their guests in the splendid surroundings of The Grand Hotel Brighton, with the winners of the 2017 FPA Awards announced by celebrity guest comedian, Jo Caulfield - hailed as Britain s funniest woman - now we know why. From the pre-dinner cocktails and canapés to the superb three course meal, and the after party sing-along, the evening was, as always, a huge success. The generosity of FPA members once again exceeded expectations with a fantastic amount raised for our new charity Great Ormond Street Hospital. The inspiring video helped us to dig deep for this fantastic work. A CREDIT TO THE INDUSTRY FPA Chairman Howard Colliver reported on a bumper year for entries, especially for the two new Awards, Food & Drink Manufacturer and Rising Star. Not only is each award highly competitive, but it is a great credit to the FPA that the panel of independent judges, who volunteer their time, are leading experts in their fields, ensure objectivity and uphold the credibility of the FPA Awards. FUN!DOES NO ONE ANY HARM * HUGE THANKS Following the dinner, the Casino once again proved popular and money won helped swell the total raised for our chosen charity. Everyone enjoyed an afternoon of excellent displays and networking alongside a sumptuous afternoon tea courtesy of Euro Packaging and Jena. Award entries were also showcased at the exhibition. FPA members were inspired to record-breaking generosity, raising more than 5,000 for our new 2017 charity Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). The FPA was delighted to host David Drozdziak, Fundraising Executive for GOSH, who talked to many members during the evening about the work of the charity, which was also featured in a short video screened at the Awards.
