1 BOW N n STERN STERN BOW The Sheboygan Yacht Club March 208 Dates to Remember Commodore s Comments As I sat at the club talking with friends at this year s Midwinter Brat Fry and I now ponder what to write about, all I can think about is how much fun I have had at our club this month so far! The Sailing Banquet was a huge success, with some surprise music provided by one of our most gracious members! The Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras pot luck keeps getting bigger and better every year! Our members continue to outdo themselves with the amazing food that they prepare for all to enjoy! The Brat Fry is also one of those events that we all look forward to and is also a way for us to showcase our beautiful club to some new faces. Thank you to all the volunteers who give their time and expertise to make all of these events a great success! Another event that you should not miss is our monthly Membership Meeting. This is a special night that is reserved for members only. It is a night for reporting on all of the hard work that the Committees have done and for showing support for the decisions that the Board and Officers continue to make for the leadership of your club. The Lunch Committee has been putting together some great meals for us to enjoy following the meeting and the camaraderie is unmatched! Please join your fellow members who continue to keep this club one of the very best on the Great Lakes! To keep the ball rolling, no pun intended, the next event that is not to be missed will be the Commodores Ball on March 0th! The Entertainment Committee is pulling out all the stops for this one! This will not be your traditional suit and tie event but rather a let-your-hairdown party. But really because of the 80 s theme you will probably want your big hair up! We will be going back in time for the evening and revisiting some of the best that the 80 s had to offer! The music will definitely be the highlight of the event with many fun games planned along with surprises that the Committee will share with us that evening! You do not even need to sit on line with Ticketmaster for hours for tickets; we sent them directly to you and you all have the best seat in the house! Feel free to invite some of your friends who may be interested in this party who are non-members. You need to RSVP with menu choices by March 3, 208. This is a great way to show others just how much fun we have during the nonboating season and another reason why we enjoy being members of this great Club! See you at the show! ~Commodore Mike March March March April April May June Commodore s Ball Sailing Education Racing Rules Interclub Party in Appleton Kentucky Derby Event Lakefront Open House Hours LUNCH :30 to :30 Wed-Thu-Fri DINNER :00 to 8:00 Tue-Wed-Thu-Sun :00 to 9:00 Friday-Saturday Friday night reservations appreciated BAR :00 to close Wed-Thu-Fri 4:00 to close Tue-Sat-Sun Mondays House Manager Sean Pieters Chef Matt Schultz Office Manager Tara Guell Treasurer Jennifer Spicer Commodore Mike Knop Vice Commodore Mark Wessel Recording Secretary Leighanne Metter -Jensen Rear Commodore Dan Gruenke Membership Secretary Jeanette Wierzbach Contents Commodore s Comments SYC Club Calendar Palm Sunday Brunch Commodore s Ball Reminder Mardi Gras Pot Luck Photos Sailing Banquet Photos Bow N Stern Editor, Ronald F.
