2 Employee Self Service Employee Self Service (ESS) is the Munis Self Service application created specifically for current employees. For employees, ESS provides access to personal information, pay and tax information and benefits. Employees must have a valid MSS login to access the ESS application; registered applicants receive a personal identification number (PIN) for accessing their profile and prospective employment information. Administration. Resources The Resources option in the upper-right corner of the screen displays employee resources that are available.

3 ESS Home Page The home page of the ESS application displays personal information, organizational announcements, time-off, and pay details. Announcements The Announcements panel displays organizational or other announcements that have been entered in MSS Employee Self Service Administration. 5 Personal Information The Personal Information panel provides your information as stored in your employee record. Click View Profile to view your personal profile. 7 On the Employee Profile page, you cannot update the General Information. Emergency Contact information displays at the bottom and may be updated by clicking the "Add Emergency Contact" blue statement to the right. 8 Time Off The Time Off panel displays your vacation, sick, and personal time off. For the initial display, the Time Off is the projected time available. You can view the Paycheck Simulator, Year-to-Date Information, or W-4 Information. Year-to-date and last-paycheck earnings initially do not display for security purposes.

10 On the Time Off Calendar page, click Return to Previous View to return to the listing format. Paychecks The Paychecks (on the home screen) panel displays information for the most recent pay periods where you received pay. You can view the Paycheck Simulator, Year-to-Date Information, or W-4 Information. Year-to-date and last-paycheck earnings initially do not display for security purposes. Earnings for previous paychecks do not display either. Click Show Paycheck Amounts to show the dollar amount; click Hide Paycheck Amounts to hide the amount. Paycheck Simulator The Pay Check Simulator allows you to simulate adjustments to your pay, tax, or deductions in order to see how the changes would affect your total pay.

12 Paycheck Simulator The Pay Check Simulator allows you to simulate adjustments to your pay, tax, or deductions in order to see how the changes would affect your total pay. The program does not permanently alter your pay records. To use the simulator: 1. Select the pay cycle for which you are simulating a change. 2. Enter the pay, tax, or deduction changes. 3. 18 Total Compensation The Total Compensation page displays your total compensation broken up into paid compensation and benefits. It also displays your benefit contributions and your employer s benefit contributions, as well as a total of all contributions. If your company has set it up, the Additional Benefits section will display information regarding your other benefits. 20 Substitute Teaching Will only display IF you are a substitute teacher for the District. Substitute Teaching provides a view of your substitute teaching shifts for a specified year, as well as a list of any payroll checks that were processed. This information is stored in the Munis Employee Substitute Pay History program. The default value for the year is the current year, but you can select a different year. Click Date in the Check Date column to view the Pay/Tax information for a specific substitute shift. The Substitute Calendar page provides a less-detailed, calendar view of your substitute shifts.
