2 Formal Bowtie Easy Pasta Cajun with Chicken Sausage Pasta and a Green Salad with with Home Apple Made Sauce Vinaigrette Cups (for (for 2) 4) 1 2 Cut the Vegetables: Wash the mushrooms and bell pepper. Cut the ends off the mushroom stems and slice them. Cut the stems off of the bell pepper and remove the inner core and seeds and dice the pepper to desired size. Season the Chicken: 3 Add chicken and 1/2 to 3/4 Tbsp. creole 4 seasoning to a gallon zipper bag. 1/2 Tbsp. will be mild heat & 3/4 Tbs. will be medium heat. Work the seasoning around and massage it into the chicken pieces until all chicken is evenly coated. This amount of seasoning will not be hot but will provide a slight kick as you enjoy it. Adjust per your families taste. Cut the Chicken into Strips: Remove any fat from chicken and cut into strips, or dice into bite size pieces if desired. With this dish, we recommend leaving chicken in strips but it is up to you. Brown the Chicken: In a large frying pan with a lid over medium high heat, add 1/2 Tbsp. olive oil. Once hot, add chicken strips from bag cooking for about 3-5 minutes or until all chicken is slightly browned on the edges. Cook the Noodles: 5 While chicken is browning, fill a 6 large pot half full of water and set to boil on high heat. Add 1/2 tbsp. salt to water. Once boiling, add 5 oz. bowtie pasta stir and boil for 7-10 minutes or until al dente. Hint: Reduce heat slightly after water boils or add 1 Tbsp. olive oil before water boils to prevent it from boiling over. Keep pasta in water if done before the sauce to keep warm. Add Vegetables to Chicken: Reduce heat for chicken to medium and add diced bell pepper and sliced mushrooms. Stir and cover with lid, let steam/cook for about 5 minutes. Stir and cover again and let cook for another 5 minutes. 7 Add Final Seasonings and Cream: Add 1/2 pint heavy whipping cream to chicken and vegetables along with 1/4 tsp onion powder and 1/4 tsp Italian seasoning. Heat cream through, without a lid, over medium heat. Once heated through reduce heat to med-low and simmer for 5 minutes allowing sauce to thicken slightly. 8 Combine Noodles and Sauce and Sprinkle with Cheese: Drain the noodles and add them to a serving bowl. Add the Cajun cream sauce over noodles and stir together. Top with 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese. Add apple sauce cups to table and enjoy your Delicious Family Dinner!
