LEKARGA Keepfresh sheets

KEEPFRESH SHEET Commercial Name: KEEPFRESH SHEET Description: Keepfresh is an Ethylene Absorber sheet which allows ethylene producing and sensitive goods to be shipped or stores for longer period of time reducing spoilage and maintaining the quality of the product. 2

ETHYLENE GAS Is an odorless colorless gas that exist in nature as a ripening agent. As fruit vegetables and flowers mature ethylene gas is released. Most perishable products are sensitive to ethylene gas and most can ripen mature quicker when exposed to it. Once fruit has reached peak edible ripeness the ethylene gas production drops on that particular fruit but is affected by other fruit that are releasing more ethylene gas 3

CLIMACTERIC FRUITS Are able to continue ripening after been picked. The process is accelerated by ethylene gas. The cell respiration of the fruit rises with ethylene gas. Some climacteric products are: custard apple, grenades, passion fruit, apple, melon, papaya, banana, avocado, kiwi, tomato, mango, among others. 4

NON CLIMACTERIC FRUITS Can ripen only in the plant. Those they have a short shelf life. There are many non climacteric fruits that harbour several ethylene receptors which are active, making them sensitive to ethylene gas. Some non climacteric foods are: Artichoke, asparagus, cauliflower, grapes, citrus, strawberry, potato, cucumber, pepper, pineapple, raspberry, among others. 5

LEADING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY POST HARVEST Technological function: Absorption of gases, among them ethylene, the hormone which is responsible for the ripening of the plant products; Set-up of an adequate CO2 and H2O level to slow down plant respiration; elimination of environmental micro organisms. 6

PROPER POST HARVEST CARE All fruit benefit from proper post harvest care. Ethylene Gas is a naturally occurring plant hormone which causes fruit ripen and decay. Also vegetables and flowers to wilt. Controlling ethylene gas in post harvest storage allows produce to be held for a much longer time and reduce costly shrinkage. Industry studies established that post harvest loss are between 25 46% caused by low ethylene gas concentration. 7

CONTROL ATMOSPHERE STORAGE This is used today in most transport and storage systems. This is when crops are stored in lower temperature, and oxygen concentration with elevated CO2 levels. This slows down the ripening and agent process. Ethylene is still been produced in smaller quantities causing for the fruit to ripen and decay at a slower rate. 8

KEEPFRESH COMES IN DIFFERENT SIZES AND CAPACITIES For the best use of Keepfresh we need to know the follow information: - Size of boxes - Type of product - Weight - Storage and transport time - Storage and transport conditions 9

KEEPFRESH CAN BE USED FOR ALL POST HARVEST HANDLING KEEPFRESH sheets are aimed to: Growers Wholesalers Distributors Supermarkets Restaurants Hospital Army Institutions Florist Domestic and international shippers and Transporters. Ideally use with mix commodities Fruit packers and manufactures, food storage. 10

BENEFITS FROM OUR KEEPFRESH ABSORBING SHEETS Controls the ethylene gas from the perishable products. You offer better quality fresh product. Kills fungus, mold and prevents rot. Eliminates decay, mold, wilting discoloration, softening and scald. Extend the shelf life of fruit, vegetables and flowers. 11

ECONOMICAL BENEFITS Greater profit as you have less spoilage and reduce waste You offer better quality products, fresher and better looking for longer period of time. Your clients will be more satisfy. It is non toxic product and can be disposed easily. You create a better image with social and environment responsibility. 12

RECOMENDATION FOR IT S USE Our product is designed for maximum efficiency. Can absorb up to 99% ethylene gas. Can be used in contact with fruits, vegetables and flowers. It is accepted for organic product certification. Each box must contain a sheet. The sheet should be the same size of the box. It has to be placed for the total load, container, etc. Place the sheet with the non printed side in contact with the product. Once it has been used, discard the sheet in the paper waste container. It is easy to disposed. 13
