2 Apples: Apples like rich, fertile, loamy soil with good drainage. Can be grown in sandy or clay soil as long as good drainage. Full sun. Apples need to pollinate with another variety to ensure good crop set. Plant standard set: apart. Bears in 3-4 years. Pollinators marked below. For correct pollination order varieties with the same pollination code. Arkansas Black Ripens in late season. Firm, crisp and extra juicy. Flesh is yellow. Dark red to black skin and keeps very good. A heavy bearer. Tart, good cooking and eating apple. Good Keeper. Pollination Code C. Stamen Winesap Large, juicy, moderately tart wine-like flavor. Bright red skin. Firm, crisp flesh. Ripens mid season. Good for cooking or eating fresh. This variety is pollen sterile and cannot pollinate other apple trees. Pollination Code C. Pink Lady - Blushing pink skin over green flesh. The Pink Lady is a large apple with a snappy tartness with crisp, sweet flavor. Harvest is late September. Flesh resists browning when cut, great for fresh eating with a long storage life. Can be pollinated by Red Delicious or Honey Crisp Red Delicious - a large red apple with pure white flesh; crisp and juicy when picked fresh. Good for fresh eating and baking. This apple tree ripens September to October. Red Delicious is a great pollinator for other apples. A staples for any orchard. Yates Pollinator. Small apple. An old time favorite. Very firm, dotted, bright red skin. Firm, juicy, aromatic red tinged flesh with excellent taste. A heavy bearer. Excellent pollinator for most apples. Easy to grow and a favorite for wildlife if you want to share Ripens mid-october. Pollination Code B Honeycrisp Very popular due to explosive crisp texture and well-balanced sweet/tart flavor. Texture is similar to watermelon. Fun to eat! Large fruit with red skin over yellow background. Good Keeper. Pollination Code C. Scarlet Sentinel This patio apple tree is for the courageous gardener. This tree grows 8-10 foot-tall, can be grown in a large patio pot but roots must be protected during cold weather. Dense clusters of bright white flowers followed by abundant, very large, greenish-yellow fruit with red blush. Very juicy and sweet. It is the most compact variety. Pollinate with Golden Sentinel. Golden Sentinel Another patio apple tree that grows 8-10 foot. Enjoy striking pillars of snow-white flowers in spring followed by good crops of large golden-yellow fruit. Sweet, delicious and firm. Great for fresh eating, cider or baking. Pollinate with Scarlet Sentinel. It is suggested that you buy both of these patio apples together for fruit. Cherry Trees: Plant in full sun with well drained soil. Plant 25' apart. Tart cherries are self-fruitful but sweet cherries require crosspollination. Cherry s ripen mid June July.

3 Compact Stella This cherry is a must for the home gardener with limited space. This semi-dwarf (10-12 ft) cherry tree produces large dark-red fruit that is firm, sweet and resistant to cracking. This tree is self fertile and a good pollinator for other cherry varieties. Black Tartarian (sweet) - The best sweet cherry available. Blackish red in color, good size, sweet, juicy and rich. Excellent for fresh eating and pies. Ripens very early. Bears at early age. Needs pollinator. Bing (sweet) - large dark red fruit is firm, sweet and juicy. This cherry tree is a very popular variety because of it's high quality. The Bing cherry needs a pollinator. (Black Tartarian and Bing can pollinate each other but not a sour variety.) Blackberries: Should be planted 3-5 ft apart in full sun. Trailing varieties need spacing of 8-10 ft between plants and trellised. Bears 2-3 years. Fruit yield 2-4 quarts per vine. Prime Ark Freedom - thornless ever-bearing blackberry. This type of berry fruits half of it s crop in the fall and half the next spring. It has very large fruit with excellent flavor. Freedom is a great choice for local home gardens. Natchez - thornless blackberry which crops early in the season, and has the characteristic semi-upright, spine-free growing habit. This delicious berry is one of the first producers of the season. This disease-resistant variety will give you large, sweet berries. Fruit stores well for extended enjoyment. Blueberries: **Need at least 2 varieties to pollinate** Full sun in well-drained soil does best. Plant 3-5' apart. Begin fertilizing in April with azalea food. Vernon: - Blueberry produces superb large, sweet fruit with beautiful color. The variety blooms late but ripens early making it a good choice for areas subject to late frosts. Plants are very vigorous and extremely productive. Ripens May - June. Ochlockonee - A very late variety that produces large and delicious sweet berries. The berries are a deep blue color that is firm and keeps well. This is a very heavy bearer variety that blooms late protecting your harvest from late freezes. Premier (produces a large berry early to mid season. Premier is resistant to Mummy Berry, a disease prevalent in our mountain region. Beautiful bright green foliage makes it a great ornamental for your yard. Highly productive. Grapes: Requires full sun. Plant vines 4-8 inches deep. After growth starts, select strongest shoot and let grow pruning of remaining branches. Bears in 2-3 years.

4 Reliance (red) - Reliance is a great addition to your home garden. This pink seedless grape is one of the most cold hardy varieties of all the seedless grapes. It produces very large clusters of medium size berries with tender skin and sweet flavor. This variety is very highly rated. Concord Seedless- Concord is one of the best known and most widely grown varieties of the bunch grapes. The fruit is excellent for jelly, jams, preserves and fresh juice. You can also just eat them right off the vine. Fruit ripens late Sept. Raspberries: Should be planted 3-5 ft. apart in full sun. Trailing varieties need spacing of 8-10 ft. between plants and trellised. Bears in 2-3 years. Caroline Red - Produces heavy crops of large raspberries. Excellent flavor. Very vigorous and more tolerant of root rot than Heritage. Ripens June September. Anne - Golden yellow fall bearing variety. Pairs wonderfully with Heritage. Its excellent size, appearance and sweet flavor make it a great choice for a fall bearing golden raspberry. Heritage known for producing large crops of very large and sweet berries that are dark red in color. These delicious berries are perfect for those that love to can or freeze fruits as well as making homemade jellies and jams. Heritage is an upright variety that does not require a trellis. This fall-bearing variety is cold hardy and is an ever bearer that also has a summer crop. Strawberries: Need well drained, fertile soil in full sun. Set plants two foot apart in rows with crown just above soil line. Pinch off blooms first year. Sweet Charlie - Produces a large sweet berry that taste like it has sugar on them fresh from the field. Ripens in June Cardinal- Mid-season and developed especially for the South. Huge fruit, very sweet and of good shape. Heavy disease resistance. Eversweet Sweet everbearer with long large con-shaped fruit and delicious flavor. Produces all summer through the heat (100 degrees F) and into the fall. Ripens each summer and continues to fruit into fall. Pear: Grows and produces best in well-drained sandy-loamy soil. Will also grow in clay soil, light sandy soil or dry soil with irrigation. Don t over fertilize. Pear trees can promote fireblight. Full sun. Plant feet apart. Requires cross pollination from a different variety. Bears in 2-3 years. Bartlett - produces large golden yellow fruit blushed with a brownish-red. This pear trees fruit also has smooth, juicy white flesh. The pears have a pleasant touch of

5 tartness on this pear tree. Good for fresh eating and canning. This pear Ripens mid- August. Needs a cross pollinator best if you have other types of pear trees or plan to buys different types in the next year. Bartlet trees are susceptible to fire blight. Moonglow a great tree to pair with other pears that need a pollinator. It is a large pear with brownish-green skin. The Moonglow pear s soft, juicy flesh is nearly free of grit and has a sweet mild flavor. Peaches: Plant in full sun about apart. Self-pollinating and begin bearing in approximately i2-3 years. Annual pruning will help to maintain vigor since fruit bears on previous years growth. Thinning is required to ensure maximum fruit size and quality. Red Globe - produces a beautiful, large freestone peach that is firm and wonderfully sweet. It is great for fresh eating, canning and making ice cream and pies. The Red Globe peach tree s consistent crops make this a nice addition to your orchard. This peach tree ripens early to mid August. Plums: Ozark Premier Large red skin, freestone plum. The flesh of this plum is yellow, juicy and tart. It is a very good plum that ripens in mid-june. Claims to be the best tasting plum available. OP yield is better with a pollinator.
