2 THE RESTYLING PROCESS, SARTORIAL PERFECTION. Following the success achieved by the restyling work carried out on the Bandarossa 40th Anniversary edition, Bortolomiol completes the renewed look of the first line of excellence with the Superiore di Cartizze, the Riserva del Governatore and the Filanda Rosè. The new bottles find their inspiration in haute couture, a sector of the fashion industry that has made Italy famous the whole world over. The absolute black combines with small hints of colour that emerge as if out of nowhere, an imaginary cotton thread that twists and curls to create abstract patterns bringing to mind the works of the American artist Paul Jackson Pollock, considered to be one of the leading exponents of abstract expressionism. For its unique exposure to the sun and the mineral-rich soil, here the vines produce more rounded berries, swollen with juice and with a sugary taste that makes them of superior quality.

Giuliano Bortolomiol RISERVA DEL GOVERNATORE Extra Brut Millesimato Born from the intuition of the founder to create an extrabrut Reserve with Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, this sparkling wine is an elegant and fine charmat method. On the occasion of the visit of an illustrious guest, a few friends came to Giuliano asking for a unique, refined and very dry sparkling wine. For the talented wine maker this was the moment to present a cuvée that he d been working on in order to produce an Extra Brut.

Ottavia Bortolomiol FILANDA ROSÉ Brut Millesimato Riserva Pinot Nero Great sparkling wine maker that he was, Giuliano Bortolomiol made his first rosé in the early 1970s. Today his daughters Maria Elena, Elvira, Luisa and Giuliana together with their mother Ottavia present a wonderful sparkling rosé, the Filanda Rosé. They have decided to dedicate this wine to the women who worked in the Valdobbiadene silk mills, women who with their hard work contributed so greatly to the development of the area.

John Keats A GOOD SIGN Originally the banda rossa or Red Band was a mark that the founder, Giuliano Bortolomiol, put only on bottles containing the best extra dry of the year. These were the bottles that were kept for real friends, those who shared his passion for the land, tradition and good wine.

Today, it is that same inquisitive spirit which drives his daughters Maria Elena, Elvira, Luisa and Giuliana. They seek technological innovation, the highest quality starting from meticulous inspection of the grapes and attach great importance to communication.

13 TODAY AND TOMORROW The company is currently run by Giuliano s four daughters and her mother Ottavia. This generational change has brought with it a new managerial vision, but without altering the principles of family tradition: first and foremost product quality and promotion of the area. The company s future is expansion. Not meaning just targeting interesting markets to be launched on, aware and proud of the distinctive designation. But also an authentic company commitment towards projects of an environmental and humanitarian nature. Alongside the Bortolomiol women, the team headed by the winemaker Roberto Cipresso works enthusiastically: with Emanuele Serafin as principal oenologist, Marco Agostinetto, Luca Agostinetto and with the invaluable support of the agronomist Giovanni Pascarella.

The application of the most recent wine growing techniques in the different phenological phases, and integrated defence of the vine are therefore fundamental in the eyes of Bortolomiol to achieve its goals while maintaining full regard for the environment and for total consumer safety. Applying the Green Mark Management Protocol for all growers bringing their grapes to the company has become paramount for Bortolomiol production. Well ahead of the times ever since 2011 this internal protocol has been applied responsibly. With a series of technical indications to be followed by grape suppliers, it aims to upgrade product quality whilst managing vineyards in a way that has the lowest environmental impact and is increasingly more eco-sustainable. Safeguarding the quality of grapes without harming the environment and human health is part of a strong social responsibility tradition that has always made the Bortolomiol family stand out and which it shares with its grapegrowers.
