The fast greens, the influence of winds from the Atlantic Ocean, and the technical difficulties of the layout go to make this championship course a constant challenge. WINE TASTING: This afternoon is devoted to the discovery of Bordeaux wines beginning with a visit to Château Pichon Longueville (Grand Cru Classé de Medoc) between St-Julien and Pauillac. Owned by the Arcangues family, living in the region since 1170 (their castle is still on the course) and giving their name to the village, this is a hilly course with many slopes and where strategy requires a large diversity of strokes. Even though the course relatively is short, the bunkers and greens have been carefully designed which is typical of its architect Ronald Fream. Several holes offer panoramic views with the Pyrenees mountains overlooking the region. It is one of the most beautiful courses of Basque country, with a typical clubhouse offering a warm and lively atmosphere. SIGHTSEEING SUGGESTION: Non-Golfers will enjoy Saint Jean de Luz. The town's fortune has long been linked to its fishing and its port. Since the end of the 19th century, Saint-Jean-de-Luz has been a noteworthy tourist destination since the 19th century. The inhabitants have managed to preserve their heritage while at the same time integrating modern creations. A short walk from the port, 'Karrika Handi', or The Great Street, leads you to the church of Saint Jean-Baptiste the oldest part of which dates from the 15th century. Facing St Jean de Luz is Ciboure, the birthplace of composer Maurice RAVEL, and its church Saint Vincent with its fortress-like appearance. On the way, we ll sightsee in the Armagnac area before stopping at Ecomusee de l Armagnac for a tasting visit. Armagnac Tasting Château Garreau is a charming and educational venue situated on nearly 200 acres. This museum offers an engaging experience for it s visitors to get up close and immersed in the magic of Armagnac brandy making. Lunch today is exceptional at the Restaurant Hostellerie Hervé Garrapit, Villeneuve de Marsan. This former post office on the roads of St Jacques de Compostela in the heart of the sunny village in Armagnac and

Locally known as Little Versailles, the Château has been impeccably restored in French country-house style while surrounded by its own vineyards and 18-hole golf course. SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14: MONESTIER, FRANCE GOLF: Château des Vigiers carves its way through the working plum orchards, vineyards, lakes and oak woods surrounding the Château. This Donald Steel layout is ideal for recreational golfing. SIGHTSEEING SUGGESTION: We highly recommend a visit to Bergerac found on the northern bank of the Dordogne River, in the western part of the Dordogne department. It is among the largest towns in the region. Looking out over the Dordogne valley is the delightful, fairytale, Château de Monbazillac. Dinner tonight is in a farmhouse that dates to 1765, the Moutier Thénac, a traditional restaurant serving local cuisine ideally located in the heart of Perigord Pourpre in Dordogne. Chef Moutier s restaurant offers family recipes with a menu consisting of five dishes. All the preparations are made from local products. (Included). OVERNIGHT: Château des Vigiers Prestige Room SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 15: MONESTIER, FRANCE Enjoy a full day guided tour of Perigord. Several of the highlights include: Sarlat was a prosperous city at the end of the 8th century under the reign of Pepin le Bref and Charlemagne when the Benedictines established a monastery there. La Roque Gageac is found on the Dordogne River about five miles south of Sarlat. It is known to be one of the most beautiful villages in France with the river in front and a steep cliff behind. Beynac is a French medieval village perched on a rock. It is famous for its castle, conquered by Richard Lionheart s men and then reconquered and rebuilt by the French. Les Eyzies is the homeland of Cro Magnon man found In the heart of the Vézère Valley along the Vézère River. Lunch today is at Restaurant Moulin de la Beune Les Eyzies where you can sample local cuisine made from fresh produce in a rustic, warm setting. The chef offers authentic cuisine that respects the seasons and products with special attention to regional products that make reflect the Perigord reputation including foie gras and duck

This afternoon we ll visit The Vézère valley which contains 147 prehistoric sites dating from the Palaeolithic Period which is distinguished by humankind s development of stone tools. The, course unfolds in a valley fringed by centenary oak trees, framed by vineyards and located just 6 miles from the village of Saint Emilion. SIGHTSEEING: Enjoy a 2 hour guided tour of the medieval town of Saint-Emilion. This medieval town stands proudly at the top of the hill overlooking the world renowned Saint-Emilion vineyards. Our wine tasting will be at Château Figeac Premier Grand Cru Classé Saint Emilion, an ancient estate dating to the 2nd century AD. Medoc les Châteaux is set in the heart of the wine area and the players will have no doubt about that, since each hole is named after a Medoc top vintage and the 150 yards mark is a bottle of wine.

7 BIARRITZ LE PHARE Biarritz Le Phare was designed by Willie Dunn in the British tradition and is the second oldest golf course built in France and. Facing the Atlantic Ocean and the lighthouse, this flat and tireless course offers the best quality of fairways and greens in the region. Since his origins, this course has been the great theatre of sportsmen and gathering events and the best European players rubbed shoulders. Biarritz has already welcomed 17 international championships GOLF D'ARCANGUES Owned by the Arcangues family, living in the region since 1170 (their castle is still on the course) and giving their name to the village, this is a hilly course with many slopes and where strategy requires a large diversity of strokes. CHÂTEAU DES VIGIERS Les Vigiers carves its way through the working plum orchards, vineyards, lake and oak woods surrounding the Château. The course is ideal for recreational golfing. The 9th and 18th holes present interesting challenges avoiding the water hazards on one side and the Château on the other. Donald Steel, the course architect, considers the 18th hole as one of the best he ever designed in terms of strategy and setting. In 2008, Château des Vigiers opened a new 9 hole layout and now features 27 holes offering 3 combinations of 18 holes. SAINT EMILION Saint Emilion is the new gem designed by one of the best architects in the world, Tom Doak (Cape Kidnappers, Barnboulge, Pacific Dunes, etc.). The course unfolds in a valley fringed by centenary oak trees, framed by vineyards and located just 6 miles from the village of Saint Emilion. The ideal place for our Golf & Wine tours. As Tom Doak usually do, no artificial earth movement has been created to design Saint Emilion golf course, holes follow one another in the most natural flowing way.
