5 BURGUNDY 2015 October 11, 2012 Burgundy 2015 Domaines R - Z See date & place of tasting in italics Growers / Wineries are in alphabetical order with area underneath Domaine Remi Rollin Pernand-Vergelesses Pernand-Vergelesses Sous le Bois de Noël Belles Filles Tasted at the J & B tasting One Great George Street January 2017 The nose is fragrant the palate has a complex mix of autumn hedgerow berries. Raspberry and redcurrant in the middle sweeter at the back the fruit feels ripe yet the finish has freshness and length. Domaine de Rocaillière Pommiers Beaujolais Beaujolais Vieilles Vignes Tasted in the Royal College of Physicians May 2017 The fruit on the nose is sweet the start of the palate fleshy with a mix of flavours. Fresher and lighter in the middle it lacks a bit of depth the fruit at the back fresh and firm. Maison Roche de Bellène Beaune Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes Fresh fruits the nose is light the palate lacks richness or depth. The tannins are firm and obvious and although there is some sweet fruit at the back the finish is tight and fresh. Corton Grand Cru Master of Wine: Derek Smedley Master of Wine: Derek Smedley

6 October 11, 2012 BURGUNDY 2015 The nose is tight and fresh the palate lacks depth at the start. Black fruits in the middle give a richer feel sweetness at the back but it closes down the on the finish which is firm and tight. Chambertin Grand Cru The nose is closed but there is sweetness showing on the palate with ripe black fruits in the middle. Tannic firmness at the back tends to hold back full expression and the finish just lacks a bit of length. Domaine Daniel Rion et Fils Premeaux Nuits-Saint-Georges Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Vignes Rondes The nose is light with a mix of fresh red fruits the start of the palate bright. There is mid sweetness ripe mulberry and cherry and although the back palate is sweet and quite rich the finish is lighter and fresh. Clos Vougeot Grand Cru Fresh red fruits the nose is light the start of the palate bright. There is mid richness the fruit sweet but fresh red fruits dominate the back palate the finish lacks a bit of depth and concentration. Domaine Rossignol-Trapet Gevrey-Chambertin Beaune Les Mariages Red fruits on the nose are fresh fragrant charm the palate starts sweet a mix of ripe red and black fruits. The tannins are fine and ripe the mid palate supple and fleshy the richness balanced by an underlying red fruit freshness at the back. 7 BURGUNDY 2015 October 11, 2012 Mulberry and red cherry the nose is fresh the start of the palate bright. Sweet fruit the mid palate has ripe tannins fleshy and supple. The back palate has depth and the finish the fleshy richness of ripe fruit. Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes Tasted at the C & B tasting Tower of London January 2017 Sweet fruit ripe and rich the black fruits are backed by rich mulberry. Supple and fleshy on the mid palate the tannins are fine and although fresher at the back the finish has sweet ripe fruit. Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Prieur Red fruits give freshness on the nose the start of the palate is light and bright. Sweet fruit enriches the mid palate depth of fruit all supported by fine tannins. Sweet and rich at the back the finish is lighter, stylish with good length. Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru Tasted at the C & B tasting Tower of London January 2017 Concentrated black fruits the nose has richness and depth the palate is plush with ripe fruit richness in the middle fine tannins. Fresh at the back a lovely balance slightly lighter but the rich ripe fruit is there on the finish. Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru Tasted at the C & B tasting Tower of London January 2017 The nose has freshness the palate is rich with ripe fruit depth of flavour a mix of black cherry and mulberry. Layers of flavour complexity velvet smooth at the back the finish rich and ripe with depth of fruit. Chambertin Grand Cru Tasted at the C & B tasting Tower of London January 2017 Concentrated flavours the nose is rich with ripe fruit the palate has depth velvet smooth in the middle. There is a balancing freshness red fruits and bramble the mid tannins fine and ripe. Fleshy at the back depth of fruit the black fruits are rich the finish has concentrated richness. There is some mid sweetness but the fresh fruits the mineral and flint comes through giving a racy brightness on the finish. Pouilly-Fuissé Clos Sur la Roche Lean and bright the nose is fresh the palate starts with flinty crispness. Greengage in the middle gives more depth the rich fruit underpinned by citrus the finish is lean and long. Etienne Sauzet Puligny-Montrachet White Wines Bourgogne Blanc La Tufera Tasted at the J & B tasting One Great George Street January 2017 Fresh fruits the nose is light the palate citrus dominated crisp. Sweet and ripe in the middle greengage is backed by ripe melon the finish is creamy and rich. Puligny-Montrachet Tasted at the J & B tasting One Great George Street January 2017 Chalky and mineral the nose is bright the start of the palate light. Sweet fruit in the middle there is depth of flavour but at the back citrus and mineral refresh the finish has good length. Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Referts Tasted at the J & B tasting One Great George Street January 2017 Ripe fruit on the nose yet the palate is fresh citrusy mineral. The fruit on the mid palate is ripe depth of flavour with crisp apple and mineral at the giving a racy freshness on the finish. Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Combettes Tasted at the J & B tasting One Great George Street January 2017 The nose is light the start of the palate lean mineral and citrus. Ripe fruit in the middle depth of flavour the sweetness balanced by flinty freshness at the back. Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne Mineral freshness the nose is bright the start of the palate fresh. Rich fruit in the middle sweet and ripe breadth of flavour and although sweet and ripe at the back the finish has citrus freshness. Domaine Séguinot-Bordet Chablis White Wines Petit Chablis Tasted at the Charles Taylor tasting September 2016 The nose has an earthy herbal character the palate starts fleshy with ripe pears. There is some citrus freshness but a lack of balance the finish is short and lacking fruit. Chablis Tasted at the Charles Taylor tasting September 2016 Sweet fruit on the nose the palate has sweetness ripe greengage. Under the sweeter flavours citrus and apple refresh the back palate is light, lean, long with flint and mineral. Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume Tasted at the Charles Taylor tasting September 2016 The fruit on the nose is sweet the start of the palate has greengage richness but the mid palate is very fresh and citrusy the back palate light and the finish has lime and green apple freshness Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre Light fresh fragrant the nose is flinty and citrusy the palate starts lean and crisp with a mix of citrus fruits. There is slightly more depth in the middle but the flint and mineral give brightness and freshness on the finish. Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Greengage gives richness on the nose and start of the palate the fruit in the middle is quite sweet. Fresh at the back bright and citrusy the finish is light, lean and flinty. 10 October 11, 2012 BURGUNDY 2015 The fruit on the nose is sweet and ripe the palate fleshy and rich but at the back bilberry and bramble refresh and lighten the finish is fruity fragrant and long. Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru Te fruit is ripe the nose has depth the palate starts with fleshy richness. Ripe black cherry and mulberry in the middle the fruit supported by fine tannins rich fruit at the back the finish is sweet and ripe. Domaine Eric Suremain Monthélie Rully 1er Cru Les Préaux Tasted at the J & B tasting One Great George Street January 2017 Ripe red fruits the nose has depth of flavour the palate richness with the sweet fruit underpinned by redcurrant freshness. Layers of flavour complexity and although fresher at the back the finish has depth with fleshy strawberry. Monthélie 1er Cru Clos des Chenes Tasted at the J & B tasting One Great George Street January 2017 Depth richness the nose has a mix of black fruits the palate is fleshy and ripe lots of black cherry. The sweetness on the mid palate is underpinned by the freshness of mulberry and redcurrant layers of fruit with rich fruits coming through and filling out the back palate. Monthélie 1er Cru Sur la Velle Tasted at the J & B tasting One Great George Street January 2017 The nose ha a mix of ripe fruits the palate depth black fruits ripe red fruits a lovely complex mix forest berries. The tannins are ripe the mid palate supple and fleshy yet there is balance with underlying freshness. Domaine Sylvain Langoureau Saint-Aubin White Wines Saint-Aubin Tasted at the Robert Rolls tasting St John Restaurant January 2017 The nose has some sweet fruit the start of the palate ripe greengage. Light and fresh in the middle the citrus mix is backed by apple but it does fill out on the finish some ripe greengage. Master of Wine: Derek Smedley 10

11 BURGUNDY 2015 October 11, 2012 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly Tasted at the Robert Rolls tasting St John Restaurant January 2017 Sweet fruit on the nose the palate has ripe greengage a mid richness. Citrus balances the back palate lighter but there is richness of fruit on the finish. Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Le Sentier du Clou Tasted at the Robert Rolls tasting St John Restaurant January 2017 The fruit feels ripe the nose has greengage depth of flavour. Lighter at the back a citrus mineral mix with the ripe fleshy greengage giving depth on the finish. Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Bas de Vermarain a l Est Tasted at the Robert Rolls tasting St John Restaurant January 2017 The nose has a mix of fragrances light white flowered the palate has fresh fruits at the start. A hint of mid sweetness some ripe fruit towards the back but the finish is firm and fresh. Domaine Paul Talmard Uchizy White Wines Mâcon Montbellet Tasted in the Carlton Club March 2016 Apple fresh on the nose the start of the palate is bright citrusy youthful. Richer in the middle some ripe fleshy melon but the back palate has a strong citrus character the finish firm at the moment. Domaine Tartraux Givry Givry 1er Cru Grandes Berges Tasted in the Carlton Club May 2017 The nose has a rich mix of mainly black fruits the start of the palate is sweet and ripe with fleshy mulberry. Lighter in the middle the sweet fruit underpinned by red fruits with at the back the richness of ripe black cherry. 12 October 11, 2012 BURGUNDY 2015 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Tasted at F M & V tasting One Great George Street January 2017 Fresh fruit on the nose the start of the palate has a mix of red fruits quite light in the middle. There is more weight of fruit depth at the back but it finishes with freshness lots of raspberry and mulberry. Domaine Gérard Thomas et Filles Saint-Aubin White Wines Saint-Aubin Champ Tirant White flowers the nose is fragrant and fresh the start of the palate citrusy. There is mid sweetness grapefruit and greengage but at the back fresh fruits dominate the finish is light with a hint of mineral. Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Murgers des Dents de Chien Ripe fruit the nose has rich flavours the palate broad with ripe greengage. There is balance grapefruit and mineral layers of flavour and although it fills out at the back the finish is lime fresh. Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chenevottes Breadth of flavour the nose has rich fruit the start of the palate has ripe greengage fleshiness. Lighter at the back a mix of fresh fruits but it finishes with sweetness and richness. Domaine Tollot-Beaut Chorey-lès-Beaune Chorey-lès-Beaune La Piece Chapitre Tasted at the J & B tasting One Great George Street January 2017 Bright and fresh the nose has a bramble and bilberry mix the start of the palate is firm. Ripe fruit in the middle gives sweetness the black fruits at the back richness all supported by firm but fine tannins. Savigny-lès-Beaune Champs Chevrey Monople Master of Wine: Derek Smedley 12

13 BURGUNDY 2015 October 11, 2012 Tasted at the J & B tasting One Great George Street January 2017 The fruit on the nose is fragrant and fresh the start of the palate light. Bright in the middle red fruits but it does fill out towards the back and the finish has depth of flavour. Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Les Lavières Sweet and ripe the nose has rich fruit the palate depth at the start. There is more of a bramble character in the middle lighter fresher but at the back there are rich fruits with depth of fruit on the finish. Aloxe-Corton 1er Cru Les Vercots Fragrant and fresh the nose is light with mainly red fruits the start of the palate bright. Sweet and fleshy in the middle depth of flavour and although the underlying freshness gives a lighter feel at the back the finish has richness and depth. Beaune 1er Cru Les Grèves The nose has the richness of ripe fruit the start of the palate fleshy and supple. There is balance with freshness under the ripe fruit complexity layers of flavour with rich black fruits on the finish. Corton Bressandes Grand Cru Depth and sweetness on the nose the palate has meaty richness breadth of flavour. Fine tannins support the back palate has brooding depth the finish has a powerful mix of mainly black fruits. Château de La Tour Clos Vougeot Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Cuvée Classique Tasted at the C & B tasting Tower of London January 2017 The nose has herbal freshness red fruits the start of the palate light. Slightly richer and sweeter in the middle but light at the back the finish is firm and tight. Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru Vieilles Vignes Tasted at the C & B tasting Tower of London January 2017 Black fruits are to the fore the nose is quite sweet the start of the palate has depth. 14 October 11, 2012 BURGUNDY 2015 Vignerons de Mancey Tournus Bourgogne Rouge Les Classiques Tasted in the Carlton Club November 2016 The nose is fresh with red fruits the palate light and quite firm in the middle. Fresh fruit at the back the finish is bright but lacks depth. Vignerons des Terres Secrètes Prissé White Wines Bourgogne Chardonnay Tasted at the Charles Taylor tasting September 2016 The nose has an earthy richness the start of the palate fleshy and sweet. Citrus in the middle gives freshness the back palate is lighter slightly dry and lacking a bit of length. Mâcon Blanc Tasted in the Carlton Club January 2017 The nose is light the start of the palate fresh with a mix of citrus fruits. Firm in the middle the fruit at the back and on the finish lacks generosity. Saint-Véran Tasted in the Carlton Club January 2017 The fruit on the nose is herbal and citrusy the palate is earthy the mid palate firm with high acidity and the back palate is lacking in fruit. Saint-Véran Croix de Monceau Tasted at the Charles Taylor tasting September 2016 The fruit on the nose is quite sweet the start of the palate has fair depth of flavour. There is some underling citrus and apple fresh and firm at the back and slightly short on the finish. Mâcon Rouge Tasted at the Charles Taylor tasting September 2016 There is not much fruit on the nose the palate is light bright firm in the middle. Raspberry and mulberry at the back the underlying freshness dominates a bit hollow the finish is firm and tight. Bourgogne Pinot Noir Master of Wine: Derek Smedley 14

The mid palate lacks richness the back palate is lean with firm tannins tend adding bitterness and shortening the finish. Domaine Verget Sologny White Wines Chablis Cuvée de la Butte White flower fragrances mineral and flint the nose is bright and fresh the start of the palate is lean. Richer in the middle with sliced pears and ripe apple the rich fruit backed by citrus and mineral the finish is racy and flinty Tasted at Farr Vintners September Mineral and flint, white flowers the nose is fresh and fragrant the start of the palate is precise. There is mid sweetness hints of tropical fruits but at the back the mineral flint streak gives freshness the finish has length and persistence. Chablis Terres de Pierres Flint and mineral on the nose the palate starts bright with citrus freshness. There is a hint of sweetness in the middle more of a grapefruit character the back palate and finish crisp with crunchy green apple. Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons Sweet fruit the nose has depth the palate opulent with rich ripe tropical fruits. Bright at the back citrus and green apple crispness but there is a sweeter feel to the finish depth and breadth of flavour. Chablis 1er Cru Côte de Lechet The nose has a mix of fruits sweet and ripe the start of the palate fleshy and rich. Bright and fresh in the middle lime and lemon backed by flint but there is sweetness at the back with ripe greengage on the finish. Chablis 1er Cru Mont de Milieu Light and fragrant the nose is citrusy and mineral. 16 October 11, 2012 BURGUNDY 2015 Tasted at Farr Vintners September Behind the white flowers the fragrance there is the sweetness of white peach and tropical fruits. The mid palate has depth, pears and nectarines with the underlying citrus at the back refreshing the finish is long with a mineral streak. Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons Vieilles Vignes des Minots The nose has a mix of fragrances orange blossom, citrus with just a hint of spice. The fruit on the palate is sweet and ripe mid concentration a rich mix of tropical fruits and sliced pear. The fleshy richness is backed by flint and mineral the finish racy, bright and long. Tasted at Farr Vintners September Smoky and spicy, fragrant orange blossom the nose has a complex mix. The palate has rich fruit tropical fruits and pear depth of flavour. Fresh at the back apple and lime the finish is long with flint and slate. Bourgogne Blanc Terres de Pierres White flowered the nose is fragrant smoky the start of the palate fresh citrusy. Sweet fruit in the middle white peach and greengage and although the back palate has richness and depth the finish is bright with a racy freshness. Bourgogne Blanc Grand Elevage Smoky the nose has a hint of oak the palate broad ample with rich ripe peach and pear. There is enough underlying apple to balance and refresh bright at the back yet it finishes with fleshy fruit and a touch of toasty oak Mâcon-Villages The nose is fresh with a mix of citrus fruits the palate bright light at the start but sweeter more depth in the middle. Steely and mineral the finish is firm and lacking in depth. Mâcon-Villages Grand Elevage Bright and fresh the nose has a mix of citrus fruits the start of the palate crisp. There is mid sweetness ripe greengage richness and although there is depth of fruit on the back palate it finishes with citrus brightness. Mâcon-Charnay Rich and ripe on the nose the palate has honeyed richness depth of fruit. The sweet fruit the ripe pineapple on the mid palate is underpinned by citrus and apple bright at the back with a mineral fresh finish. Master of Wine: Derek Smedley 16

17 BURGUNDY 2015 October 11, 2012 Mâcon-Bussières Le Clos Depth of fruit on the nose the start of the palate sweet with ripe pears the mid palate has rich fruit. There is enough citrus to lighten and refresh the finish is bright with good length. Mâcon Bussières Vignes de Montbrison Smoky citrusy the nose is fragrant and bright the start of the palate has a mix of fresh fruits. Depth on the mid palate toasty creamy with ripe melon and fleshy greengage a complex mix of flavours. The finish has length flint and mineral. Tasted at Farr Vintners September Perfumed smoky, white flowers the nose is fresh the palate richer and sweeter with pears and tropical fruits. Toasty, creamy richness in the middle the back palate has fresh fruit grapefruit and lime the finish more slate and mineral with excellent length. Mâcon Vergisson La Roche Tropical fruits the nose has depth with ripe pear on the start of the palate giving fleshy richness. Under the ripe fruit there are layers of fresh fruits complexity and balance and although rich with depth of flavour at the back the finish is bright and steely. Tasted at Farr Vintners September Behind the fragrant white flowers there is a hint of tropical fruit. The palate has depth quite fleshy with nectarines and greengage rich and ripe in the middle yet there is underpinning apple freshness the finish steely fresh and citrusy. Vire Clessé The nose is bright and fresh the palate has persistence the crispness of lime and flint. Although there is some mid richness some pear and white peach the citrus dominates the back palate lean and fresh the finish refreshing and bright. Saint-Véran Terroir de Vergisson Sweet fruit on the nose the start of the palate has the richness of ripe melon. Bright in the middle a refreshing mix of citrus fruits and although the back palate is bright and quite crisp it finishes with richness and depth of flavour. Saint-Véran Vigne de Saint Claude Mineral fresh on the nose the start of the palate is bright with a citrus and crunchy apple mix. Richer in the middle pear and ripe greengage the sweetness balanced by freshness at the back the finish has good length, racy, flinty and mineral. Saint-Véran Lieu (Inter) Dit Rich and ripe the nose has sweetness and depth the palate the richness of honeydew melon and ripe pears. There is balance with citrus brightness under the sweet fruit lots of complexity. Light at the back the finish is long, racy and flinty. Tasted at Farr Vintners September Rich and ripe on the nose the palate full with ripe pears and fleshy melon but there is a backbone of freshness mineral, flint and citrus a complex mix of flavours. A hint of toasty oak spice and pepper at the back the finish has fresh fruit and slate a lingering freshness. Pouilly-Fuissé Terres de Pierres Lean and tight the nose is mineral fresh the palate bright with crisp crunchy apple and lime. It is broader at the back with ripe fleshy melon the richness though balanced by fresh fruit the finish fine directional with slate and mineral Pouilly-Fuissé Terroir de V Vergisson is no longer allowed to appear on the label Smoky flinty the nose is fresh floral the start of the palate bright with mineral and flint precision. There is mid richness peaches and greengages the sweet fruit backed by citrus the finish long tense with slate and mineral. Tasted at Farr Vintners September Rich, ripe and toasty at first on the nose but behind there is fragrance and freshness a lime lemon mix. Rich fruit at the start ripe greengage and fleshy melon the rich fruit underpinned by freshness the back palate is lean, flinty and bright. Pouilly-Fuissé Les Combes Vieilles Vignes Ripe fruit on the nose the start of the palate has depth peachy richness the mid palate nectarines and ripe pear. There is balance underlying citrus racy zesty at the back with a flinty mineral brightness on the finish. Layers of flavour give complexity a balance of sweet fruit and freshness the finish has a lean tense mineral length. Tasted at Farr Vintners September Orange blossom, white flowers the nose is fragrant smoky the start of the palate fresh and mineral but it fills out in the middle with rich fruit concentration depth of flavour the fleshy mid sweetness is underpinned by freshness the back palate lean the finish tense with flint and mineral. Meursault Les Clous Ripe fruit the nose has a honeyed richness the palate depth and sweetness. Melon and ripe greengage give a creamy, fleshy mid richness yet there is balance with underlying apple brighter and fresher at the back. Tasted at Farr Vintners September Depth of fruit on the nose the palate is rich and ripe with honey and melon a creamy rich mid palate. Greengage and peach hints a vanilla and oak toasty richness yet at the back there is fresh fruit crisp apple the finish bright with lingering flavours. Sweeter in the middle greengage fleshiness a touch of melon yet the back palate is light lean and crisp the finish has bright flinty length. The palate is fresh with flint and mineral but it does fills out in the middle with sweet tropical fruits.
