2 TOR R ONTÉ S O R I G I N S A LTA Alamos Torrontés Alamos crafts quality wines from Argentina, offering the best of the country s high altitude vineyards at an incredible value. Alamos grapes are grown at the foothills of the Andes Mountains at elevations of 3,000 to 6,000 feet, where intense sunlight, cool evening temperatures and mineral-rich irrigation from mountain snowmelt translate to bright aromatics and rich flavors. About the Wine: A delightful representation of the high elevation Salta region, our Alamos 2014 Torrontés has bright floral aromas. On the palate, this wine is as pleasant as a sunny spring day with citrus and white fruit that lead to a crisp finish. Although Malbec and Mendoza are the best known names in Argentine winemaking, Torrontés is taking center stage a few hundred miles to the northwest, in the Cafayate region of Salta. It is believed that Argentina s flagship white varietal was brought to the country by Spanish Jesuits in the 18th century. Torrontés is found in the world s highest vineyards, resting at 5,000 to 6,000 feet above sea level in Argentina. The high altitude growing conditions translate beautifully to bright floral aromas and delightfully crisp acidity in our Alamos Torrontés wine. 3 C H A R D ON N A Y Alamos Chardonnay Alamos crafts quality wines from Argentina, offering the best of the country s high altitude vineyards at an incredible value. Alamos grapes are grown at the foothills of the Andes Mountains at elevations of 3,000 to 6,000 feet, where intense sunlight, cool evening temperatures and mineral-rich irrigation from mountain snowmelt translate to bright aromatics and rich flavors. The grapes were vineyard selected and hand-harvested prior to being pressed. The juice was cold settled and solids were removed before fermentation, which occurred in upright fermentors and barrels at 55 F. Approximately 65 percent of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation before aging on the lees for three to four months to impart a rich, toasty mouthfeel. The wine was then aged in French and American new oak for five months prior to bottling. 4 MAL B EC RO SÉ Alamos Malbec Rosé About the Wine: Alamos Malbec Rosé shows a light and briliant color. On the nose it displays fresh red fruit and light citrus flavors. Delicate on the palate, it offers ripe pear, plum and peach. The finish is long and lingering with fresh, balanced acidity. 5 CABERNET SAUVIGNON Alamos Cabernet Sauvignon The grapes for our 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon were hand-harvested, destemmed and crushed. The must was chilled and cold-soaked for 72 hours prior to fermentation for additional extractions of color, tannins and flavor. Fermentation occurred in upright, conical tanks at 85 F for six to eight days. The wine underwent full malolactic fermentation, and then aged for six to nine months in 1 to 2-year-old French and American oak prior to bottling. 6 M A LB E C Alamos Malbec The grapes for our Malbec were handpicked, destemmed and crushed. Prior to fermentation, the must was cold soaked for three days. Fermentation occurred in upright, conical tanks for one week at 85F. Throughout fermentation, we used several pump-overs to extract color and flavor. After primary fermentation, this wine underwent malolactic fermentation to create a round mouthfeel before eight months of aging in a combination of French and American 225 L barrels at a medium toast level. 8 Alamos 2014 Selección Malbec The grapes were handpicked, destemmed and crushed prior to a three- to four-day cold soak. The grapes fermented for six to eight days in upright and conical tanks at a maximum temperature of 85 F and maintained skin contact for a total of three and a half weeks for complete flavor and color extraction. Malolactic fermentation was completed and the wine was aged in a combination of medium to medium+ toasted French and American oak for nine to 12 months before the final blend was assembled.
