2 We have worked with Pierre-Yves since his very first vintage, 00, and have seen his tireless efforts take his estate to an elite level and almost unimaginable UK demand. Significantly, this has been during a period when white Burgundy has disillusioned plenty. His crusade in openly addressing the ugly issue of premature oxidation and the unswerving brilliance of his bottles has won the confidence and admiration of all those who have pulled his corks. Everyone loves world-class Chardonnay and we receive more excitable s from PYCM admirers than any other domaine we work with, red or white.

3 I picked the most beautifully ripe and clean fruit you can imagine. Only 00 and maybe 009 have been as perfect PIERRE-YVES COLIN My 0s remind me of 00, my very first year. But things have changed since, most of all my experience and knowledge. 0 is in similar fresh pure elegant style but much better than 00. I am very happy with the 0 vintage. PIERRE-YVES COLIN To many, myself included, Pierre-Yves is the most impressive Côte d Or white Burgundy producer of the current era. Sure the likes of Coche-Dury, Roulot, Leflaive, Lamy, even his great friend, Vincent Dancer, produce some wondrous bottles. But the cellar here circa thirty different cuvées offers an unrivalled palette of appellations, from generic Bourgogne to the finest Grand Crus, all made in tiny bespoke quantities. It takes a true master to draw the distinctive terroir out of each vineyard, whilst retaining such distinction and consistency, top to bottom, from vintage to vintage. His meticulous devotion to quality is so severe; how many other growers would reject a barrel of Le Montrachet - in the great 00 vintage - because they were personally unimpressed and felt the standard didn t enhance their reputation? After the easy 00 vintage, that made it itself, Pierre-Yves and his small team faced a plethora of challenges in 0. Freakishly warm weather in spring, including significantly more sunshine hours than usual, led to a very early and dry flowering. Taking the 00-day rule, this projected a precocious harvest date in the fourth week of August. Whilst June saw storms and soaring temperatures, July and the first half of August featured frequent rainy spells and cooler-than-average temperatures, which delayed the ripening process. Grey rot and mildew were a real threat, but we were incredibly vigilant and sprayed meticulously. Harvesting for some started around August but unusually for him Pierre-Yves waited. Fine weather arrived, even that favoured north wind to aid concentration, and he began picking on September. Each plot was harvested without any rush in wall-to-wall sunshine. And so what of his 0 raw materials? I picked the most beautifully ripe and clean fruit you can imagine. Only 00 and maybe 009 have been as perfect. By working assiduously in every vineyard, with painstaking attention to detail through to the harvest, Pierre-Yves has played to the strengths of the growing season. In a word, the resultant wines are beautiful. Initially, from barrel, they were rather introspective, which Pierre-Yves explained was due to the dry flowering. However, with a subsequent racking, the wines have blossomed. La gamme shone gloriously on our last three visits in March, May and June. For sure, they do not have the tautness or stature of his majestic 00s. Nor do they exhibit the same primary flamboyance of the 009s. This is unlike any other previous Colin-Morey year. The wines are dense yet fine, succulent yet wonderfully focused. They capture the purity of the terroir and are balanced by graceful dancing acidity; they will age stylishly. Pierre-Yves has once more outperformed and we have a vintage of real appeal here; deftly-made beauties that are frankly irresistible.

Both are genuinely striking white Burgundies, beautifully crafted in Pierre-Yves s ultra-understated style. Small prices for perfection. His Bourgogne may have a simple classification, but this particular blend of young St Aubin, Puligny and Chassagne Ancéignières fruit sets the quality standard for the entire PYCM range. Our man is fully aware of this fact; we have talked long and hard about the importance of his signature cuvée. A perennial favourite of the A&B team and customers alike, this is wonderful in 0, possibly my favourite example to date. A delightful white blossom perfume focused and bright is followed by a tender palate, generous but with great underlying tension too. The seductive Cailloux is also deliciously energetic, plumper and slightly more hedonistic yet totally harmonious. Both will drink beautifully upon arrival this November, but cellar comfortably till 07. I visited P-Y in 008 and I have been obsessed with his scintillating wines ever since. 5 0 Auxey-Duresses AC Ruchottes SOLD OUT Sadly there are just cases again (two 0 litre barrels produced) of this miraculously pure and elegant Auxey, from the same undisclosed source as Pierre-Yves s sacred Meursault Perrières. The nose offers a delicate wet-stone perfume with a hint of green citrus fruit. On the palate, it's delightfully intense and silky, everything balanced by ripe buffering acidity, a refreshing saline mineral edge. Chapeau! Drink from 0 till 00. Shipment pre-christmas. 0 Pernand-Vergelesses er Cru Sous Frétille SOLD OUT We ve owned total exclusivity on this cuvée since the 006 vintage, hence the critics don t appraise. The Sous Frétille vineyard is near the top of the hill, more suited to Chardonnay, and offers a high-pitched vivacious wine. I drank my final bottle of that initial hot year last week, and it was simply outstanding. Still fresh and tactile, it was rather a shame to see it disappear! The 0 is an equally harmonious effort: less strict than the 00, less lush than that 006. A typically cool, floral nose gives way to a flighty, intense and beautifully detailed mouthful, plenty of that underlying PYCM tension. You ll adore the mineral-driven finale, just terrific juice. This is a savvy purchase and certainly worth close consideration, to drink young or cellar. Fans of pure white savoury burgundy are encouraged to try these wines, practically unknown in France itself. STEPHEN TANZER 0 Vintage It is absorbing to visit Pierre-Yves regularly, observe how the wines evolve during their élévage and to garner a real understanding of each vintage and his brilliance within any given year. Equally enthralling is to see Pierre- Yves s disposition vary with the early summer weather. If 0 was changeable then 0 has been nerve jangling. The north wind may yet blow and a high quality vintage is still possible but, nonetheless, this year s crop will be very restricted in size. Quantities will be savagely down, end of story. It may be worth taking this into consideration whilst making your 0 PYCM selections; we certainly have.

I hear odd mutterings of St-Aubin being expensive these days. Frankly those people haven t been drawing Pierre-Yves s lengthy corks. I rate all the wines above as outstanding white Burgundy values and served blind the premier crus compete with those of a similar status from any rival Côte-de-Beaune appellation. For around a bottle tax paid you get a ridiculous amount of wine for your cash. The entry St-Aubin Banc is certainly not basic village floor quality. Juicy and gripping, with a distinctly bedrock character. A firm edge of acidity frames the lemon, lime and stone fruit flavours. This has excellent punch and harmony for its status. Drink from 0. Arnay-le-duc CHASSAGNE- MONTRACHET Chassagne-Montrachet Saint-Aubin N. 6 Gamay Blagny PULIGNY- MONTRACHET Next up and trust me our palates were buzzing even at this early stage! the trio of phenomenal mouthcoating premier crus. For the second successive vintage, we have a barrel of the tremendous Dents de Chien, which some argue is the finest vineyard of the appellation. It has the same orientation as the finest highaltitude Chassagne and Puligny crus; think Champ-Gains and Chalumeaux. There s a big jump in density and material here: delicious peachy flavours supported by an impressive structure, full of intrigue. The sheltered old vine Chatenière as always has cool calcaire minerality on the nose, high-toned, fine and complex. In the mouth, this has a softer, more charming feel than the 00 model but it is still very vibrant and finishes with a long, brisk finish. Finally, the seamless yet reserved Remilly. This is my personal favourite. Scented, fine-grained and terribly energetic, I have a sneaky feeling that this is a great Remilly in the making. It has the complexity of a much grander and more expensive bottle, boasting all the flavour and purity of the year. Smiles all round. Personally I d exile all three to your cellar, to drink after your 009s are consumed but before the 00s. Let s say from beginning of 0 onwards. AC er Cru le Banc, 0.ha en Remilly, 0.7ha la Chatenière, 0.7ha Les Murgers en Dents de Chien, 0.ha " The quality Colin is achieving is starting to put him in an elite group" ALLEN MEADOWS

7 0 Chassagne-Montrachet AC, Ancéignières SOLD OUT 0 Chassagne-Montrachet er Cru Vides Bourses SOLD OUT 0 Chassagne-Montrachet er Cru Baudines SOLD OUT 0 Chassagne-Montrachet er Cru Remilly SOLD OUT 0 Chassagne-Montrachet er Cru Caillerets SOLD OUT CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET Map and superficie of Colin-Morey vineyard holdings SANTENAY SAINT-AUBIN Paris For those that require both bang for buck and sheer volume, Pierre-Yves s much-loved Ancéignières is an insider s choice. These eighty-five year old vines are always the first to be harvested, low-lying as they are below Bâtard. Muscular yet bracing, with concentrated and layered texture. Yes, petit Bâtard, if that hits your G-spot. To me, it is an impeccable example of this ancient vineyard and shows the real splendour of the vintage. Drink from 0 onwards. I bore you annually, but this is a quite magnificent range of Chassagne-Montrachet; the nuances from vineyard to vineyard are quite remarkable. First up is Vides Bourses, a downslope continuation of Bâtard- Montrachet on the north side of the fast, lorry-ridden N6. The heavier soil here offers a more powerful, concentrated offering. And yet there is super freshness and drive; this really is quite electric. Yields in 0 are unpredictable, generally up say 0% overall, but some vineyards were badly down. Vide Bourse is unfortunately the latter, so quantities are very restricted here, sorry. Santenay REMIGNY AC Montceau-les-Mines er Cru Grand Cru CHAGNY 6 Chassagne- Montrachet R.N. 6 Beaune CORPEAU les Anceignières, 0.ha les Baudines, 0.ha les Caillerets, 0.ha en Remilly, 0.ha Vides Bourses, 0.ha bâtard-montrachet, 0.ha 6 Puligny- Montrachet PULIGNY- MONTRACHET As a quality vineyard, Baudines is finally starting to attract the attention it fully deserves. Baudines is, in my view, one of the under-rated terroirs of Chassagne says Burghound. It is situated at the southern end of the village on the road to Santenay, much higher and cooler; clearly white-wine territory. The wine itself displays über-fresh nervosité. An impressively refined nose of crushed stone leads onto a tense palate, crystalline in its purity. Yum En Remilly is perched on the hillside, the link between St-Aubin Remilly and Chevalier-Montrachet. It is one of Pierre-Yves's personal favourite Chassagne spots; there is amazing potential in this wine and vineyard. The more I taste, the more I agree; if you have not tried, the 009 is just wonderful now. And this 0 is equally dazzling too! Arrestingly pure, this contrives to be both piercingly intense and charming at the same time. Golly, this is the epitome of light-fingered lemony finesse. So JA, if I had to buy one Chassagne only, what should I buy? How many times was I asked that question last year! Thankfully my reply, Caillerets, was consistent and rewarded with a top scoring knock-out review by Burghound. This 0 version will receive my full backing too. Pierre-Yves owns wicked old vines here inherited from dad, Marc Colin - in the best sector. "Caillerets is often shy and timid when it's young, but it ages beautifully. It perhaps has more finesse than the Grand Crus, but less weight. In my opinion, this is not only one of the finest Caillerets produced but one of the most distinguished wines in the Colin-Morey cellar. Definitive, textured, mineral-dredged, cellar-seeking.

8 Meursault 0 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Offer 0 Puligny-Montrachet AC Trézin SOLD OUT 0 Puligny-Montrachet er Cru Champs-Gains SOLD OUT 0 Puligny-Montrachet er Cru Folatières SOLD OUT After the crop shortfall in 00, we have very much a mixed bag this year; a tad more Trézin, but less Folatières. Champs-Gains remains steadfastly unchanged. These are full of juicy vivid fruit, with surging tension and hypnotic balance. puligny-montrachet Map and superficie of Colin-Morey vineyard holdings SAINT-AUBIN St-Aubin Le Trézin is the only Puligny village vineyard at the top of the slope, close to the premier crus Garenne and Sous le Puits. The altitude here (the clay-rich soil actually resembles that of Meursault Blagny, the other side of le bois ) meant this was the final wine to be picked, as the sun shone in mid-september. That extra hangtime appears to have offered the wine extra stuffing. Surprisingly showy already, this is outrageously intense and penetrating for its level, with gripping, sharply detailed flavours of bitter lemon, orange and minerals. It finishes very long, especially for its status. Les Champs-Gains is high too, some 60m above sea level. The wine's citric intensity gives it great shape and thrust. Classic Puligny-Montrachet: elegant, vibrant and gripping. It s hard to imagine a Chardonnay from outside the Côte d Or showing this much texture and density at these low alcohol levels. Chassagne-Montrachet MEURSAULT Folatières is a wine Pierre-Yves has produced annually since 00; exactly the same source, same outstanding Allen Meadows rating every year. Astonishing reviews and regularity. It comes from 8-year-old vines set high within the plot too. Sweet, supple and full, yet almost magically weightless. The glorious finish is a rare combination of ripeness and Puligny steeliness. Rich but dry in the way of only the finest white Burgundies. CHASSAGNE- MONTRACHET Puligny-Montrachet Meursault AC er Cru Grand Cru R.N. 7 le trézin, 0.ha les champs gains, 0.ha les folatières, 0.ha bienvenues-bâtard-montrachet, 0.0ha chevalier-montrachet, 0.08ha Allocations and Older Vintages We have a small range of older vintages (00 00) in stock for those who require more immediate drinking. We have a natural client base for the wines and will ensure the integrity of the secondary market distribution. Narvaux like Trézin is always one the last parcels to be harvested. It is a rocky hillside vineyard of some distinction, often confused blind for Perrières. Producers include d Auvenay, Roulot, Coche and our own Pierre-Yves. Hmm forget it, I am not revealing his source. Pale yellow. Perfumed nose combines minerals, flint, even a mint nuance. Steely and bracing, with teeth tingling youthful austerity! This is extraordinary village material that really calls for four or five years of bottle ageing. The chiseled brilliance of it - everything comme il faut - vaults it over many more expensive bottlings of Meursault er Cru. BLAGNY Volnay Pierre-Yves's Charmes is from the prized Dessus sector, three parcels close to Perrières; very few growers produce uniquely from this portion. Delicate and fine-toned aromas of lemon, hazelnut and white truffle. This brisk, silky wine boasts terrific early appeal one of the standout wines of our June tasting but will also age elegantly. The palate-saturating mineral finish literally made us gasp. Drink from 0 onwards, well, if you can resist. PULIGNY- MONTRACHET VOLNAY Poruzots can sometimes be a little rustic; it's certainly not here, being much more refined than is typical. An exuberantly fresh and expressive nose leads into a sleek, rich but direct palate, simply superb fruit. Weighty but alive, this finishes with subtle sneaky persistence, a finale that reminds me of the Genevrières below. This is an outstanding Poruzots. Puligny-Montrachet R.N. 7 Meursault Both the Genevrières and Perrières will probably find their way to our existing buyers. There are occasional rumblings about promoting both to Grand Cru status. Truthfully, when they are made of this quality, I cannot disagree. In 0, those esteemed 60-year-old Genevrières-Dessus vines high mineral content, same slope and exposition as Perrières have produced a wine of extraordinary intensity, layering dense fruit and aromatic power. As for the real Perrières, I m afraid there s less availability this year. Desperate shame, as it was a personal favourite and I found it simply impossible to spit. All that 0 beauty wrapped around a typically linear core of Perrières-ness, it finishes with wonderful chalky drive and class. 10 grands crus 0 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru (6 BTS) SOLD OUT 0 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (6 BTS) SOLD OUT 0 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru (6 BTS) SOLD OUT 0 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru (6 BTS) SOLD OUT All of these Grands Crus are models of multi-layered intensity: transcendent wines that seem to detonate in the mouth, flavours that only Burgundy s greatest sites and vines can deliver. The clandestine sources are unchanged, adhering to Pierre-Yves s best-of-best approach. Seems weird now, but I remember writing that very first offer, explaining his micro-négociant philosophy. Among the supernovas in a very starry collection are his exquisite Corton a 0/0 blend of steely Pernand and richer Aloxe fruit that always unfolds at glacial pace. Sleek and crystalline, this is a magnificent expression. His Bienvenues has eye-watering intensity, great precision and masterly grace. Then a forceful Batard classic volume and power that is almost painful to spit out. Finally, the dramatic Chevalier, such grandeur, the golden liquid finish is relentless. All four wines were rated as Don t Miss by Allen Meadows, alias Burghound, in 00. The same will apply this year; they hit the peaks that others struggle to attain. FORMATS All of the Chassagne, Puligny, Meursault and Grands Crus are available in magnums or double magnums. However, please specify at the time of ordering. PAYMENT As always, and regardless of economies, we have paid Pierre-Yves early for the 0 vintage. Consequently, we receive ''first pick'' on the vintage for the UK market and we release early. For obvious commercial reasons, we request that invoices are paid in full within 0 days of the invoice date please. We reserve the right to re-allocate your order to other clients on the waiting list if payment is not received by this time. Thank you.

11 Terms and Conditions The prices quoted are in-bond per case ( x 7cl) excluding duty (currently.8) and vat. We shall be shipping the first eight wines in November 0, the balance in May 0.
