1 August 16, 2016 Woop Woop, Shiraz (2014) Region South Eastern Australia, Australia Shiraz SKU (3cs) (5cs) Carefully selected parcels of grapes were sourced from a selection of renowned Shiraz vineyards in premium Australian wine regions, including Wrattonbully on the Limestone Coast and Langhorne Creek in South Australia, and Swan Reach in New South Wales, where brilliant sun and ancient soils do their best. Formed some 750,000 years ago, the Limestone Coast region in the south-east of South Australia consists of an underlying limestone base which, when coupled with the relatively cool climate, contributes to unique grape growing conditions. On fine, deep and fertile soils, Langhorne Creek is one of Australia's oldest and most significant wine regions. Adjacent to Lake Alexandrina, Australia s largest permanent freshwater lake, the region s climate is characterized by low winter dominant rainfall, and due to cooling breezes from the lake, enjoys moderate daytime temperatures during the growing season. Winemaker, Ben Riggs and his team enthused as the fruits of their labour evolved into a full-bodied and flavoursome wine, deep-hued with richly scented aromatics and a long, soft and juicy palate. Of lush mouthfeel, bursting with blackberry, blueberry jam and liquorice, this wine guarantees a true Australian Shiraz experience for consumption over the next 5 years. This era marked many notable inventions and improvements to daily life, not the least of which was the modern bicycle or Le Bicycle Velocipede. Started in Paris in 1891 by Alexandre Darracq (an eccentric, who would later become famous for manufacturing automobiles), Gladiator was one of the dozens of bicycle companies that saturated the market when the cycling craze boomed. The Golden Age of cycling reached its pinnacle in 1895 and that same year printer G. Massias unveiled one of the great Parisian advertising posters. Only four of these original posters exist today. It was here that the De Wet family purchased a large tract of land in 1859, subsequently channeling the river and planting the region s first vineyards. In 1870, the land was divided among the founder s three sons, and the youngest named his portion Excelsior.
