2 Classic Cocktails Mojito 16 Havana 3yo, Brown Sugar, Mint, Splash of Soda One story traces the Mojito to a similar 16th century drink known as "El Draque", after Francis Drake. In 1586, after his successful battle at Cartagena de Indias Drake's ships sailed towards Havana but there was an epidemic of dysentery and scurvy on board. It was known that the local South American Indians had remedies for various tropical illnesses; so a small boarding party went ashore on Cuba and came back with ingredients for a medicine which was effective. The ingredients included a crude form of rum added with local tropical ingredients; lime, sugarcane juice and mint. Margarita Jose Cuervo Tequila, Cointreau, Lemon One of the earliest stories is of the margarita being invented in 1938 by Carlos "Danny" Herrera at his restaurant Rancho La Gloria, Mexico, created for customer and former dancer Marjorie King, who was allergic to many spirits, but not to tequila. Cosmopolitan 16 Grey Goose Vodka, Cointreau, Cranberry, Lime, Sugar The origin of the cosmopolitan is disputed. It is widely believed that the drink was created independently by different bartenders since the 1970s. Generally, people have recognized that John Caine brought the drink to San Francisco around 1987 from Ohio. The cosmo was further popularized among young women by its frequent mention on the television program Sex and the City. Negroni 18 Tanqueray Gin, Campari, Martini Rosso The most widely reported account is that the Negroni was invented in Florence, Italy in 1919 at Caffè Cason. Old Fashioned 17 Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Bitters, Sugar, Orange & Cherry to Garnish Traditionally, the first use of the name "Old Fashioned" for a Bourbon whiskey cocktail was said to have been, anachronistically, at the Pendennis Club, a gentlemen's club founded in 1881 in Louisville, Kentucky. The recipe was said to have been invented by a bartender at that club in honor of Colonel James E. Pepper, a prominent bourbon distiller. Tom Collins 16 Tanqueray Gin, Lemon, Sugar, Splash of Soda The origin of the Tom-Collins remains to be established but by 1878, the Tom Collins was being served in the bar rooms of New York City and elsewhere. Brandy Alexander 16 Hennessy V.S.O.P. Cognac, Crème de Cacao, Fresh Cream Brandy Alexander was likely born at Rectors, a New York City restaurant. The bartender there, Troy Alexander, created the drink in order to serve a white drink at a dinner celebrating Phoebe Snow.

This has impressively subtle biscuit spices across sweet yeasty pastry notes, plus lemon, peach and some chalky minerals too. Really pristine and entrancingly complex. The palate has grapefruit and lemon fruit flavors with fine acidity that etches detail after detail as it goes. Really impressive nectarine fruit flavors. Long, pure and a lesson in power with restraint. In 1992, the individual parcel of Merlot was exceptional and the decision was made to make a single varietal that encompassed the best that Merlot had to offer.
