White Wines 2015 Hans Herzog Pinot Gris, Marlborough - 21 Prepare for something different! Apricot-coloured, from long skin contact with the juice, it is mouth filling, sweet-fruited and dry, with fresh, concentrated peach, apricot and spice flavours, hints of watermelon and strawberry, a gentle touch of tannin, an oily richness and loads of personality Dry River Chardonnay, Martinborough - 25 The Dry River Chardonnay is based on the Mendoza clone and is produced in a way that offers concentration, purity of flavour and added complexity of oak. They tend to not favour malo-lactic fermentation aiming to preserve acidity as a stylistic choice and to help with aging Vinoptima Gewürztraminer, Ormond, Gisborne - 26 Considered by many critics as New Zealand's finest Gewurztraminer, the winery is established specifically for the production of this variety. A full bodied Chardonnay with excellent Oak treatment, giving golden brioche character Palliser Estate Pencarrow, Martinborough - 16 Medium-bodied, tightly bound and beautifully refined flavours of sweetly ripe stone fruits, melded with layers of nutty oak. The barrel-fermentation provides a creaminess and richness of texture which is balanced by fresh, ripe acidity. Gewürztraminer 2014 Misha's Vineyard, Central Otago - 16 Typically intense, this wine welcomes with an open, lifted perfume of rosewater and a hint of spice. It is an off-dry style which dances across the palate with elegance and a delicate silken texture. Riesling 2016 Two Paddocks 'Picnic', Central Otago - 16 Vibrant and refreshing Riesling. 10 RED WINES BY THE GLASS 150ml Pinot Noir 2014 Surveyor Thompson, Central Otago - 18 Deep ruby red with a dense purple hue. Palate is instantly mouth-filling with a solid core of sweet cherries and a hint of toast, with ripe plums and smoked earth notes Nautilus Pinot Noir, Marlborough - 17 Dark ruby in colour and shows an aroma of dark cherries, plums and spice. The palate is medium bodied with generous fruit and succulent tannins combining to give a long warm finish. Merlot Dominant 2014 Alpha Domus The Navigator, Hawkes Bay - 18 A complex aroma of ripe berry fruits, plums, violet, liquorice and hints of leather. influences of sweet vanilla and toast result from oak barrel maturation. Plum and blackberry are supported by clove and spicy notes. Game and leathery characters add complexity. The ripe fruit, sweet oak and firm tannins create a robust, complex wine with excellent length. Syrah 2016 Elephant Hill, Hawkes Bay - 16 Aromas of blackberry, dark chocolate and anises, with ripe juice black fruits.
