Château La Lagune Booth #22 61 Château La Lagune 2011 SKU Haut-Médoc Red Wine 750ml $95.00 RP 89 WS This blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot possesses some elevated tannin, but also an impressively saturated dark ruby/plum color, notes of vanillin, black currants and forest floor, and a medium-bodied, well-endowed personality. (RP) 62 Château La Lagune 2012 SKU Haut-Médoc Red Wine 750ml $ RP 90 DEC 92 This property has been making excellent wines under the administration of Caroline Frey, and 2012 continues their recent success. With a deep ruby/purple color, notes of new saddle leather, graphite, blackcurrants and black cherries, a supple texture, medium to full body and beautiful purity, this is an outstanding 2012 to drink over the next 20 years. In general, the blend tends to be approximately 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and the balance 25% Merlot followed by 15% Petit Verdot. (RP) 26

Château de Lamarque Booth #23 63 Château de Lamarque 2011 SKU Haut-Médoc Red Wine 750ml $49.83 WS 87 DEC 88 This blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot possesses some elevated tannin, but also an impressively saturated dark ruby/plum color, notes of vanillin, black currants and forest floor, and a medium-bodied, well-endowed personality. Cellar it for several more years and enjoy it over the following years. (RP) 64 Château de Lamarque 2012 SKU Haut-Médoc Red Wine 750ml $50.12 RP 87 WE 91 Ruby/purple-tinged and showing well, this Haut-Médoc displays plump berry fruit as well as notes of cedar, underbrush and spice box. It is medium-bodied and relatively sweet, but has ripe tannins in a very up-front, forward, consumer-friendly style. Drink it over the next 5-7 years. (RP) 27

Château Angludet Booth #24 65 Château Angludet 2011 SKU Margaux Red Wine 750ml $48.00 RP 90 WS 89 Another sleeper of the vintage from Angludet, the 2011 exhibits a dark ruby/purple color as well as a sweet bouquet of licorice, spring flowers, black currants and cherries. (RP) 66 Château Angludet 2011 SKU Margaux Red Wine 750ml $50.08 RP 90 WS 89 DEC 89 Another truly exceptional wine from the Sichel family, the 2012 d Angludet has a deep ruby/ purple color, a sweet floral, blueberry and blackcurrant-scented nose with a touch of licorice, light tannins, low acidity and a nice, fleshy mouthfeel. This is a sexy, mouth-filling and satisfying wine from both a hedonistic and intellectual vantage point. Drink this sleeper of the vintage over the next decade. (RP) 28

Château Giscours Booth #25 67 Château Giscours 2011 SKU Margaux Red Wine 750ml $ WS 91 WE 94 Power and ripeness walk hand-in-hand with this major player. The wine is opulent and extracted with flavors of rich blackberry fruits, but shows a firmness in tannins and dense texture. Drink from 2018 and it s sure to be a great success. (WE) 68 Château Giscours 2012 SKU Margaux Red Wine 750ml $86.19 RP 90 WS 90 WE 94 The plump, rich and densely purple-colored 2012 Giscours, has turned out very well in this vintage, offering loads of fruit. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it has a moderate finish, and is medium to full-bodied, with excellent licorice and crème de cassis notes, and a broad, round, juicy mouthfeel. This is a wine that can be drunk young or cellared for years. (RP) 29

Château du Tertre Booth #26 69 Château du Tertre 2011 SKU Margaux Red Wine 750ml $64.99 WS 90 WE 92 Offers good flesh, with a succulent edge to the plum and cassis notes. Fine-grained sandalwood, bergamot and black tea hints run from start to finish, while an iron element lingers on the finish. Pure and racy in feel. Best from 2015 through (WS) 70 Château du Tertre 2012 SKU Margaux Red Wine 750ml $64.24 RP 91 WS 89 WE 92 This 125-acre vineyard is beautifully situated in the southern sector of the appellation of Margaux. Dense ruby/purple, with sweet cassis fruit, Du Tertre s 2012 has a perfumed, elegant, lush, velvety-textured mouthfeel and impressive purity and depth. Drink it over the next years. (RP) 30

Château Kirwan Booth #27 71 Château Kirwan 2011 SKU Margaux Red Wine 750ml $ RP 89+ WS 90 WE 92 This is a wine that is already delicious, with juicy black currant flavors and open acidity. There is structure and aging potential as well, however, giving this wine the best of both worlds. It finishes with a fine, fresh feel and a dry edge. Drink from (WE) 72 Château Kirwan 2012 SKU Margaux Red Wine 750ml $74.20 RP 90+ WS 88 WE 93 From the Schroder and Schyler family, the 2012 Kirwan is dense ruby/purple and exhibits notes of cassis, licorice and a touch of toasty oak, followed by a medium to full-bodied, concentrated, tightly knit, but very promising Margaux. Concentrated, long and rich, this wine is still playing it close to the vest. It should be at its best in another 5-7 years and last at least two decades. (RP) 31

Château Lascombes Booth #28 73 Château Lascombes 2011 SKU Margaux Red Wine 750ml $ RP 93 WS 90 WE 91 This large, fragmented estate must be a logistical nightmare for winemakers, but the 2011, a blend of 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot, exhibits a beautifully scented nose of spring flowers, black raspberries, black currants, graphite and forest floor. Medium to full-bodied and rich with supple tannins, this terrific example of Lascombes continues their qualitative revolution that began over 15 years ago. One of the stars of the vintage, this beauty can be consumed over the next years. (RP) 74 Château Lascombes 2012 SKU Margaux Red Wine 750ml $ RP 94 WE 93 This vintage of Lascombes shows more restraint on oak than previous vintages. The result is a ripe wine, still showing some wood flavors although it is already beginning to balance these with the black fruits. It has an opulent style that is warm and generous. Drink from (WE) 32

Booth #29 Château Malescot St. Exupéry 75 Château Malescot St. Exupéry 2011 SKU Margaux Red Wine 750ml $ RP 90 WS 92 WE 91 This small estate (only 130,000 bottles were produced in 2011) has been on a qualitative tear for a number of years. A fragrant perfume of spring flowers, black raspberries, blueberries and cassis is followed by a wine with medium-bodied, juicy flavors, sweet tannin and a broad, generous mouthfeel. A terrific 2011, it should be at its peak in 2-4 years, and last for 15 or more. Bravo! (RP) 76 Château Malescot St. Exupéry 2012 SKU Margaux Red Wine 750ml $96.80 RP 93 WS 93 WE 91 This is distinctive, with a roasted alder streak running through an enticing core of crushed plum, blackberry and black currant confiture flavors. Long and velvety on the finish, with bay, tobacco and black tea accents checking in. This is suave, with fruit and terroir in spades, particularly for the vintage. Best from 2017 through ,500 cases made. (WS) 33

Château Beaumont Booth #30 77 Château Beaumont 2011 SKU Haut-Médoc Red Wine 750ml $34.85 WS 87 WE 91 An impressive wine, it already shows signs of its potential. It is elegant, with ripe fruits and layers of dark tannins. As it opens, blackberry fruits come through strongly, balancing the firm structure. Drink from (WE) 78 Château Beaumont 2012 SKU Haut-Médoc Red Wine 750ml $34.53 RP 86 WE 92 This is a densely tannic wine with juiciness showing quite tardily through the tannins. The wine has a very dry, firm character with acidity that finishes on a bright, fresh note. (WE) 34

Château Beychevelle Booth #31 79 Château Beychevelle 2011 SKU Saint-Julien Red Wine 750ml $ WS 91 WS 92 A textbook St.-Julien, offering tightly layered dark plum, currant and blackberry fruit, with a strong graphite spine and dark tar and mouthwatering pastis notes on the finish. A well-built, confident wine. Best from 2017 through (WS) 80 Château Beychevelle 2012 SKU Saint-Julien Red Wine 750ml $ RP 92+ WS 90 WE 94 The grand vin, the 2012 Beychevelle, is one of the stars of St.-Julien. Opaque purple, with beautiful crème de cassis notes, the wine has floral underpinnings, sweet tannin and a nice layered, multidimensional mouthfeel. This is elegant and powerful, rich and intense, but light on its feet. This is a great Beychevelle and certainly seems to exceed the vintage s character and expectations. Give it 4-6 years of bottle age and drink it over the following years. (RP) 35

Château Branaire-Ducru Booth #32 81 Château Branaire-Ducru 2011 SKU Saint-Julien Red Wine 750ml $88.25 RP 89 WS 92 WE 94 Offers mouthfilling layers of plum sauce, blackberry compote and warm ganache, all lined with a charcoal note that adds texture and length. Delivers depth and polish on the finish, with the fruit echoing pleasantly. Best from 2016 through (WS) 82 Château Branaire-Ducru 2012 SKU Saint-Julien Red Wine 750ml $ RP 90 WS 90 WE 94 Bay leaf and tobacco notes are backed by a core of damson plum, black cherry and red currant fruit. The bay leaf edge underlines the finish, with a hint of violet and a well-buried iron accent. An elegant expression of St.-Julien. Best from 2017 through ,083 cases made. (WS) 36

Château Lagrange Booth #33 83 Château Lagrange 2011 SKU Saint-Julien Red Wine 750ml $82.00 RP 86 WS 87 WE 93 Full in the mouth, this is a soft and juicy wine at the outset. There is a cushioned, plump feel to the wine, with tannins that are firm, but rounded in nature. The wine seems ready to drink, but with its tannic structure, it will also age well. Drink from (WE) 84 Château Lagrange 2012 SKU Saint-Julien Red Wine 750ml $76.55 RP 86 WS 87 WE 94 Already a beautiful wine, this is showing fine, sweet fruits along with a solid structure. The palate is juicy and fruity with new wood flavors showing through. The aftertaste is full of the fresh aspect of the vintage. (WE) 37

Château Léoville-Poyferré Booth #34 85 Château Léoville-Poyferré 2011 SKU Saint-Julien Red Wine 750ml $ RP 94 WS 92 WE 94 This property, which has been on a qualitative tear over the last generation, has produced one of the most successful wines of A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, it is broad, rich, medium to full-bodied and dense. It boasts an inky/purple color as well as lots of concentration, silky tannins, and a bigger, richer mouthfeel than any of its St.-Julien peers. The result is one of the stars of the vintage. (RP) 86 Château Léoville-Poyferré 2012 SKU Saint-Julien Red Wine 750ml $ RP 92+ WS 91 WE 95 Owned by the Cuvelier family since 1920, this property over the last 20 years has made some great wines in the Médoc. The 2012, a blend of 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, is opaque purple, thick-looking, and from bottle much more impressive than it was from barrel. This very extracted, rich, full-bodied, masculine Léoville Poyferré needs a good 5-8 years of bottle age and should evolve well for at least years. Loads of blackberry and cassis, crushed rock and graphite notes are present in this medium to full-bodied, impressively concentrated and pure wine. Forget it for a while, as this is one of the bigger, richer Médocs. (RP) 38

Château d Armailhac Booth #35 87 Château d Armailhac 2011 SKU Pauillac Red Wine 750ml $84.00 RP 87 WS 90 WE 93 A textbook Pauillac, with a core of ripe cassis, cherry compote and blackberry fruit, spiked with iron, singed cedar and tobacco details that should emerge as this melds and softens. Best from 2015 through (WS) 88 Château d Armailhac 2011 SKU Pauillac Red Wine 750ml $81.73 RP 91 WS 89 DEC 90 WE 91 Part of the empire of the Chateau Mouton Rothschild, this estate was once known as Mouton Baronne Philippe. This impressive, deep, opaque ruby/purple wine, with loads of charcoal, crème de cassis and a flowery-ness, this is rich, medium to full-bodied, beautifully textured, quite pure, and avoids any of the astringency or hollowness that some Médocs possess in this vintage. The wine is complete and finishes authoritatively. The tannins are there, but ripe, integrated and velvety. This is a very impressive d Armailhac to drink over the next years. (RP) 39

Château Clerc Milon Booth #36 89 Château Clerc Milon 2011 SKU Pauillac Red Wine 750ml $99.00 RP 88 WS 91 WE 94 Continuing its impressive development, Clerc Milon 2011 is a serious wine. It is elegant, stylish, its fruits well integrated with red berry and plum skin flavors. Powerful while round and fruity with a fine sense of weight, this wine will develop relatively quickly but will then stay at its peak for many years. Drink from (WE) 90 Château Clerc Milon 2012 SKU Pauillac Red Wine 750ml $99.82 RP 92 WS 90 WE 94 Now firmly in its new cellars, Clerc-Milon s wine is performing at the top of its form. This is a dense wine with juicy acidity as well as sweet tannins and ripe blackberry fruits. They give a ripe wine that is finely structured. The juicy aftertaste, typical of this vintage, is appealing although it does not detract from its power and longevity. Drink from (WE) 40

Château Lynch-Moussas Booth #37 91 Château Lynch-Moussas 2011 SKU Pauillac Red Wine 750ml $80.69 WS 87 WE 91 Soft and fruity, this is a wine that already shows attractive, ripe fruitiness. Black currants and a mineral texture add bite, allowing the tannins to fill out the core. This is a wine for medium-term aging. (WE) 92 Château Lynch-Moussas 2012 SKU Pauillac Red Wine 750ml $79.13 RP 89 WS 87 WE 92 Another relatively obscure Pauillac, although a classified growth in the 1855 classification, Lynch-Moussas has long been owned by the Castéja family. With soft, juicy tannins and attractive blackcurrant and plum fruit, this dark ruby/purple-colored wine is well-made, elegant, ripe, luscious and fruit-forward. It can be drunk now or cellared for years. This is an excellent Lynch-Moussas. (RP) 41

Booth #38 Château Pichon-Baron-Longueville 93 Château Pichon-Baron-Longueville 2011 SKU Pauillac Red Wine 750ml $ RP 91 WS 92 The 2011 Pichon Longueville Baron exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, an opulent mouthfeel for a 2011, silky tannins and no hard edges. Medium-bodied and well-endowed, it is a major success in this vintage. It should hit its stride in 3-4 years and last for 15+. (RP) 94 Château Pichon-Baron-Longueville 2012 SKU Pauillac Red Wine 750ml $ RP 93 WS 92 The 2012 Pichon Baron (80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot) probably has the most saturated purple color of the Pauillacs. Its structure is apparent, and the wine offers a wealth of blackcurrant fruit interwoven with licorice, graphite, and background toasty oak. Full-bodied, opulent and moderately tannic, this wine is approachable now because of its low acidity, but promises to age beautifully for 20+ years. This is another great classic from Pichon Baron. (RP) 42

Château Phélan Ségur Booth #39 95 Château Phélan Ségur 2011 SKU Saint-Estéphe Red Wine 750ml $80.71 RP 88 WS 90 WE 88 This has good stuffing, with engaging plum, cassis and blackberry coulis flavors at the core, holding steady through the anise-studded finish, accented by hints of charcoal and violet. Reveals a pebbly accent at the very end, keeping this grounded. Best from 2015 through (WS) 96 Château Phélan Ségur 2012 SKU Saint-Estéphe Red Wine 750ml $69.67 RP 87 WS 90 WE 92 From the Gardinier family, this 2012 has a dense, ruby/purple color, sweet blueberry and blackcurrant fruit, background earth and spice, with moderate, velvety tannins. This mediumbodied wine has good fruit, ripeness and a rather classic mouthfeel. Drink it over the next years. (RP) 43

Château Coutet Booth #40 97 Château Coutet 2011 SKU Barsac White Wine 375ml $ RP 93 WS 97 WE 96 Château Coutet 2011 SKU Barsac White Wine 750ml $ RP 93 WS 97 WE 96 White peach, pineapple, white ginger, orange zest and green fig notes are clear and racy, while green almond, brioche, pear and yellow apple details wait in reserve. Offers stunning range and polish, showing terrific energy and cut on the finish. This just makes you feel special when you drink it. An estate that has been rising steadily for a while now. Best from 2016 through ,915 cases made. (WS) 99 Château Coutet 2012 SKU Barsac White Wine 375ml $50.17 RP WS 92 WE Château Coutet 2012 SKU Barsac White Wine 750ml $99.82 RP WS 92 WE 91 Broad and honeyed, with lots of warm piecrust, orange zest, glazed apple, peach and almond cream notes. The finish lingers with orange and date accents, while a hint of citrus oil imparts good spine. Rather flattering today, but has the energy to develop with time. Best from 2017 through ,500 cases made. (WS) 44

Château Doisy-Daëne Booth # Château Doisy-Daëne 2011 SKU Barsac White Wine 750ml $80.00 RP 95 WS 95 WE 93 Tasted blind at the Sauternes 2011 horizontal tasting. The Château Doisy-Daëne 2011 builds upon its outstanding performance from barrel. It has a powerful bouquet with seductive scents of wild honey, yellow flowers and orange blossom that are well defined, perhaps a little more extravagant then Denis Dubourdieu s wines of yore. The palate is mellifluous on the entry with well-judged acidity, sensual and harmonious, poised on the entry and then fanning out gloriously with Clementine and honeyed notes that shimmer. This is an irresistible Barsac. (RP) 102 Château Doisy-Daëne 2012 SKU Barsac White Wine 375ml $39.63 RP WS 92 WE Château Doisy-Daëne 2012 SKU Barsac White Wine 750ml $78.71 RP WS 92 WE 89 A fresh, floral style, with pretty honeysuckle and orange blossom notes, followed by white peach, yellow apple and mirabelle plum notes. The long, unadorned finish has lovely elegance. Drink now through (WS) 45

Château de Fargues Booth # Château de Fargues 2011 SKU Sauternes White Wine 750ml $ RP 93 WS 98 WE 93 Shows fantastic range, featuring creamed Jonagold apple, papaya, toasted coconut, brioche and pineapple notes, laced with macadamia nut and heather honey details. The long, sweetened butter filled finish shows citrus oil and bitter almond accents. Displays amazing depth and purity, with the elements glistening beautifully as the finish goes on. Best from 2018 through ,250 cases made. (WS) Château Guiraud Booth # Château Guiraud 2011 SKU Sauternes White Wine 375ml $73.06 RP 92 WS 97 WE 95 A large-scale version, with seamlessly layered notes of almond cream, apricot, ginger, mango, piecrust, papaya and toasted hazelnut. The long, spice-infused finish shows ample depth, echoing with an enticing tarte Tatin note. Best from 2016 through (WS) 106 Château Guiraud 2012 SKU Sauternes White Wine 375ml $45.66 RP WS 89 WE RP WS 89 WE 91 Château Guiraud 2012 SKU Sauternes White Wine 750ml $90.77 Flattering peach, creamed pear and orange flan notes glide along, revealing an echo of green plum on the finish. Tasty, but more broad and open-knit than compact and driven. Best from 2016 through cases made. (WS) 46

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey Booth # Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2011 SKU Sauternes White Wine 375ml $36.00 RP 93 WS 92 WE 94 The 2011 Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey has a very primal nose with dried pineapple, beeswax, a touch of sea spray and wet stone. The palate is medium-bodied with a harmonious, viscous entry and very well-judged acidity that lends tension and poise. There is something more effortless about this 2011 compared to recent vintages, with a tang of marmalade popping up on the finish that is very elegant. Excellent. (RP) 109 Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 2012 SKU Sauternes White Wine 375ml $45.77 RP 90 WS 89 WE 92 The 2012 Chateau Lafaurie-Peyraguey has a slightly earthier bouquet compared to the 2011 with touches of lemon peel, honeysuckle and orange zest. The palate is well balanced with a noticeably spicy entry. Moderate weight in the mouth, quite vibrant with good botrytis if not the depth and elegance of the previous vintage. This will probably be earlier drinking than the 2011, but it is finely crafted. (RP) 47
