Our Mello Cielo Vineyard Experience is a comprehensive excursion through our vineyards and production facility. Passengers learn about the history, the art and the science behind Ruby Hill s wines, while tasting our current and future vintages. This unique wine tasting experience begins at our tasting room where you board the Mello Cielo, our customized wine bus. Includes a private tour captain, a flight of wine, a sit-down food pairing and a vineyard/production tour. Wine Tours on our Mello Cielo bus are available daily by appointment only at either 11:15AM or 2:15PM. Groups of 8-14 passengers are required. Why Our Bus Is Unique Our Mello Cielo bus has been radically customized so that it is unlike that of any other bus in the world. The revamped interior seats 14 passengers with each chair crafted from an aged Ruby Hill wine barrel. The seating is set off by two poles gilded with unique iron work of sculpted grape clusters and vines. It is truly a work of art and creates a fun atmosphere for you and your guests to enjoy!

Our philosophy behind our Jewel Collection Series is to produce world class wines that showcase the distinctive traits of our Estate Vineyard. BARREL ROOM Perfect For Large Groups The Ideal Venue Our Barrel Room is the perfect venue for larger groups or for those groups interested in a more personal and educational tasting experience. Our Barrel Room flight consists of a private hourlong tasting led by one of our knowledgeable tasting room ambassadors, a special flight, barrel tasting and light snacks. If you wish to upgrade your experience, we provide a list of items from our deli. Just pick your items and we deliver to your table with the use of a complimentary cutting board and knife.

OUTSIDE PATIO AREAS Enjoy Wine By The Glass Or Bottle We have two outdoors spaces for our guests to enjoy. Our Members Patio is open exclusively for wine club members. Our second patio is open for all guests and is available on a first come first serve basis! Our two patios overlook the picturesque Ruby Hill Estate Vineyards. We invite you to purchase bottles and soak in the Livermore Valley sunshine. Our Deli has everything you need to create the perfect picnic: artisan cheeses, specialty meats, crackers, oils, tapanades and more! Both outside patio areas provide shade, ample seating, and a great view of our 150-acre vineyard estate.
RUBY HILL WINERY History In The Making Ruby Hill Winery Company was established in 1887 in the Pleasanton Township by Mr. John Crellin, a San Francisco industrialist and Italian immigrant. The Property originally contained 450 acres with a 16,000 square foot winery and distillery. The winery was named Ruby Hill due to the rich ruby colored soil it is situated on. The capacity of Crellin s winery was 125,000 gallons, approximately 55,000 cases of wine, produced annually. Ruby Hill was widely recognized as a state of the art vineyard and winery. Numerous awards for wine quality were achieved, including 1st place in the World s Fair. The gold seal on our wine label signifies this achievement. Today, as a family owned and operated winery, Ruby Hill continues in the footsteps laid out by John Crellin and follows his tradition of producing high quality wines from our Estate Vineyards.

We offer our wines at a reasonable price so everyone can afford to enjoy them. On the bus tour you will try an assortment of wines from our various collections. Our four collections are listed below: Premium Collection Series Our Premium Collection wines are hand-crafted to embrace the fruit essence of the varietal and the character of the vineyard. These wines are designed to be fruit-forward, approachable, and consumed young. Reserve Collection Series Our Reserve Collection wines are created to be rich and powerful, with a balance between fruit, acidity, spice, oak, and tannins. These wines are typically aged longer in oak sourced from all over the world. Our Reserve Collection is delicious now, and will continue to age beautifully for the years ahead. Jewel Collection Series Our Jewel Collection wines are micro-lot wines that spend their entire lifetime in oak. From fermentation to aging, these wines are kept in oak barrels from the finest coopers around the world. Gem Collection Series Our Gem Collection wines are made exclusively for our wine club members. These wines are made in small lots and aged gracefully in oak sourced from all over the world.
