FATHER S DAY FISHING TOURNAMENT. WWW.ISLEOFPINES.ORG

4TH JULY THANK YOU TO ALL THOSE WHO HELPED AND A BIG THANK YOU TO DJ JOHN. 3

Presidents Letter So many residents of the IOP find time to contribute to our community. These are just a few ways residents are involved besides being neighborly. Promoting safety with the speed limit sign, checking with Moss Park for the water conditions, having signs made, working with the schools by serving on committee s, volunteering with teachers, corner marshals for the Triathlon, LMJA, neighborhood watch, board members and volunteers for the IOPPOA. Being involved in our community makes this neighborhood an outstanding place to live! Dana, Al and Mike have finished painting and sealing the dock and it looks great! Thanks guys! Who brought in the Big Bass this year at the Father s Day Fish tournament? Most of the 8 registered boats brought in bass for the weigh in, but the Big Bass trophy went to our own Lisa Boyd. Thank you Dana, Mike and Al for this fun event. IOP residents showed their patriotic pride by participating in our one of kind 4 th of July Parade. Good turn out for a spectacular party and firework show in the IOP Association. Thank you Shawn, Anna, John, Nicci, Al, Mike and all those that volunteered to making the IOP a great place to be for this 4 th of July. See you in the IOP, Terry Aikens President WWW.ISLEOFPINES.ORG

Kids Time TEACHERS HELP KIDS GROW CRAFT Q. Why did the clock in the cafeteria always run slow? A. Every lunch it went back four seconds! MATERIALS: T-Shirt, Canvas Bag, or Large piece of Paper Dimensional Fabric Paint Paper Plate Paint Brush INSTRUCTIONS: This project is especially nice for younger children (preschool and elementary school). You can use the child's hands and fingers dipped in fabric paint to design a 'garden of flowers' on a t-shirt, canvas bag, or a large piece of paper. Start out by squeezing out enough paint onto the paper plate for a child to dip his/her hand in. Once their hand is covered by paint, have them press it onto whatever you are decorating. Each hand print will be a flower. Kids can leave their finger's tight together, spread them out, or even try experimenting with the side of their hand (the side of a hand held in a fist can resemble a rose bud). Details can be added to flowers using fabric paint and a paint brush or fingertips. When all of the flowers are made, use the fabric paint to write a caption that reads "Teachers Make Small Things Grow" or "Teachers Help Children Grow". Q. What do get when you cross one principal with another principal? A. I wouldn't do it, principals don't like to be crossed! Q. Why was the music teacher not able to open his class room? A. Because his keys were on the piano. Q. What do you do if a teacher rolls her eyes at you? A. Pick them up and roll them back to her! Q. Why are school cafeteria workers cruel? A. Because they batter fish, beat eggs, and whip cream. 5
