Bioprotec ECO is toxic to some species of caterpillars. Bioprotec ECO is not effective on eggs, pupae and adult moths. It is a stomach poison only. Therefore, caterpillars must ingest Bioprotec ECO to be killed. Both sides of foliage where caterpillars are feeding must be thoroughly covered with the spray solution. Bioprotec ECO is most effective against small, young larvae that are actively feeding. After ingestion of a sufficient dose, caterpillars cease feeding within a few minutes and death occurs in 2 5 days. DIRECTIONS FOR USE DO NOT APPLY BY AIR. Use a small backpack or hand held sprayer to apply Bioprotec ECO. Use 30 ml of Bioprotec ECO per 10 litres of water (one bottle will give you 30 / 60 / 160 litres of spray solution). If caterpillars are big, use 60 ml of Bioprotec ECO instead of 30 ml. Add some water to the sprayer and then add the correct amount of Bioprotec ECO. Continue filling the sprayer with water until the correct amount of spray solution is produced. Mix the spray solution vigorously before application. In conditions where egg hatch is extended and/or larval population is high, make a second application 3 to 5 days later. Spray all leaf surfaces thoroughly to provide good coverage without run-off. One litre of spray solution covers approximately 10 square metres of vegetation. Apply at first signs of infestation when larvae are young and small. Repeat applications every 7-10 days, if required. Avoid application when rainfall is imminent. For early morning application, foliage should not be wet with dew to the point of runoff. DO NOT allow spray mixture to stand in the sprayer for more than 18 hours. Bioprotec ECO may be applied up to the day of harvest. DO NOT contaminate irrigation or drinking water supplies or aquatic habitats by cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes. As this pesticide is not registered for the control of pests in aquatic system, DO NOT use to control aquatic pests. DO NOT apply by any type of irrigation system.
