On Course With one month into the New Year I hope everyone had a wonderful 2013. The weather has once again provided many challenges with the unusual cold temperatures in December. The grounds crew struggled to get all of the greens tarped mainly due to wind and frost in the ground but was finally able to finish the greens. Some tees were not able to be tarped. Snow fall up to January has been promising but the wind has not. Sometimes it s hard to find that happy medium. The fairways up to now look in good shape as well as tees. Mother Nature has been somewhat cooperating. A few projects on the course is the removal of the old asphalt cart path on #3 tee and the culvert removal by 9 green and range #1. I would also like to welcome the new General Manager Jeff Tyrell and his wife Lisa to Casper and the club and I hope the winter doesn t scare them away. I hope everyone has a wonderful February and we will continue to do our best to keep things ON Course. If you have any questions or comments on this article or the golf course please contact Jason Carrasco, or myself. Thank you, Randy Norvelle, CGCS Certified Golf Course Superintendent Olympic Drink Specials In celebration of the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics we will be running a nightly drink special from the opening ceremonies on February 7 th through to the closing ceremony on February 27 th.
