CONTENTS Cusimax recommends safety first....1-2 Know your Cusimax product...3 Operating your Cusimax product 4 Care & cleaning 5

Cusimax Recommends Safety First At Cusimax we are very safety conscious. We design and manufacture consumer products with the safety of you, our valued customer, foremost in mind. In addition we ask that you exercise a degree of care when using any electrical appliance and adhere to the following precautions. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE AND SAVE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. Read all instructions carefully before you use the appliance. Always unplug appliance from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning the appliance. Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles and knobs. To protect against electric shock, do not place cord, plug, or appliance in water or other liquids. This appliance should not be used by or near children or individuals with certain disabilities. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or electrical or mechanical adjustment. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons. Do not use outdoors. Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surface. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven. Do not use appliance for other than intended use. Keep the lid on the carafe when in use. Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycle. The glass carafe is designed for use with this appliance only. It must never be used on the range top. Do not set a hot carafe on a wet or cold surface. Do not use cracked carafe or a carafe having a loose or weakened handle. Do not clean carafe or warming plate with cleansers, steel wool pads, or other abrasive materials. WARNING: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE OR ELECTRIC SHOCK, DO NOT REMOVE THE BASE COVER. NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS ARE INSIDE. REPAIR SHOULD BE DONE ONLY BY AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL. 1

Cusimax Recommends Safety First SPECIAL CORD SET INSTRUCTIONS A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If a long detachable power cord or an extension cord is used: a) The marked electrical rating of the detachable power cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. b) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding type 3-wire cord. c) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over accidentally. The appliance may have a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in anyway. Caution: Never open the top cover during the brewing cycle, even if no water is draining from the coffee basket, since extremely hot water/coffee can spill out from the coffee basket and cause injury. If water/coffee is not draining from the coffee basket during the brewing cycle, unplug the unit and wait 10 minutes before opening the top cover and checking the coffee basket. 2

Know your Cusimax Product 3

Operating your Cusimax Product Using for the first time Before first use, pour 1 pint (2 cups/ 500ml) white vinegar into water reservoir. Press ON/OFF after 20 seconds and wait 30 minutes. Press ON/OFF when finished. When cool, dispense several cups before emptying and rinsing reservoir. Run 2-3 more brew cycles with CLEAN WATER only. Allow to cool between cycles. How to use your coffee maker 1. Open the tank cover. 2. Fill the water tank with fresh, clean water. When filling water, use the carafe and fill to the desired number of cups. Be sure to add a small amount of extra water to account for the amount of water lost in wetting the grounds and lost as steam during the brewing process. 3. Put the paper filter or permanent filter in the coffee basket. Ensure the filter is fully inserted into the coffee basket. 4. Add the desired amount of ground coffee, corresponding to the number of cups being brewed. We recommend using 1 table spoon of ground coffee per cup, but use more or less to suit your taste. 5. Close the top cover and TURN ON. NOTE: When filling the water tank, using a carafe other than the one intended for this product may cause overflow. Use only the carafe supplied with your unit or its exact replacement. Programming NOTE: means TIMER; means CLOCK. 1. To set the time of day (such as 9:25 pm), first press the Prog once and will flash. Then press the H (hour) button to set current hour and press the M (minute) button until you reach the correct time. After you have set up the time, press Prog once to confirm and : will flash meaning that you have successfully set up the current time (9:25 pm will show up on the screen). 2. Press Prog twice and the will appear. If you want to make coffee at 6:30 tomorrow morning, you can press the H and M buttons until the desired timer is reached. After set up the timer, press Prog button once and the LCD display will show the current time (9:25 pm) you have set, meaning that you have successfully set up the timer. 3. The current time and timer will interactive display on the LCD. When it reaches the brewing time, it will automatically turn on and start brewing. The backlight also will illuminate. It will shut off automatically after 2 hours if left unattended. 4

Care & Cleaning Always turn the coffee maker off and remove the plug from the electrical outlet before cleaning. 1. To remove the used coffee grounds, remove the filter and the coffee basket from the coffee maker. 2. Do not clean the machine if it is still hot. 3. Wash the coffee basket (and the filter) in warm soapy water. The carafe can go in the dishwasher. 4. Clean the coffee maker using a soft cloth or damp sponge. Never use harsh detergents or abrasive cleaners on any part of the coffee maker. 5. For stubborn stains, use a cloth moistened with white vinegar. 6. Do not immerse the machine in water or place it under a running faucet. CAUTION: Do not place the carafe in the microwave. Do not put the other parts of the coffee maker in the dishwater. 5
