Formal Turkey Bowtie & Pasta Chorizo with Chili Sausage over Boiled and a Yellow Green Salad with Potatoes Home and Made Fresh Vinaigrette Fruit Side (for 2) 4) 1 2 Prep & Boil the Potatoes: Add water to an appropriate sized pot, that will fit all potatoes and set water to boil over high heat. Wash the yellow potatoes. Quarter each potato and add to pot of water. No need to wait for water to boil, just add potatoes once quartered. Let potatoes boil for about 10 minutes. Sauté Chorizo, Turkey, 3 4 & Onion: Add 2 ounces chorizo (removed from casing) to a frying pan over medium-high heat. Begin cooking, once bottom of pan is coated with oil from the chorizo, add the ground turkey and 2/3 of the chopped onions (reserve the other 1/3 of chopped onions for garnish.) Cook until browned. 5 6 Prepare Fresh Fruit to Your Liking: Wash fruit and prepare it how your family would enjoy, sliced, whole, diced. If sliced or diced and you are worried about it browning you can squeeze a little lemon or lime juice on it and toss it to prevent browning. Peal & Dice the Onion: Peel and dice just less than 1/2 of one yellow onion. Make the Chili: Once all of the meat is browned, reduce heat to medium and add 1/2 can of black beans (undrained), 1/2 can of diced tomatoes (undrained) and 1 1/2 Tablespoons chili powder. Stir and simmer mix for 10 minutes. Check the Potatoes: After 10 minutes of boiling, check the potatoes. Once fork tender, remove from heat, drain, and add potatoes to serving dish. 7 Check Chili: Check the chili, ensuring that it is thickening. If it needs to thicken more, continue to simmer without a lid until desired thickness is reached. 8 Serve and Enjoy: To plate meal, mash potatoes on plate with a fork, add a pat of butter, and then top with the turkey and chorizo chili. Garnish with cheese, sour cream & raw onions. Serve with a side of fresh fruit & enjoy your delicious dinner!
