OVERVIEW / GENERAL PHILOSOPHY Berakah Vineyard Management [BVM] is a market leader in all aspects of vineyard operations, from vineyard establishment through to cost-leading vineyard management and wine company relationship management. Our long standing collaboration with a large group of New Zealand s leading winemakers provides the knowledge, insight and confidence that we are delivering industry best practice that is focussed on the creation of distinctive, & sustainable wines that reach & exceed market s expectations. We are able to deliver market leading efficiencies into the vineyard aspect of the wine supply chain with no quality compromises. We do this through the streamlining of vineyard operations, sharing of scale economies across our client base & through the execution of timely & well informed management decisions. By re-writing the rule book, we consistently deliver vineyard operational cost savings that exceed traditional industry benchmarks.

SERVICE BVM operates vineyards in a variety of ways according to client expectations and requirements through flexible and open discussions. We are acutely aware of the associated COG s & understand the need to align vineyard operations to end use. OUR SERVICE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING ASPECTS: Budgeting including tracking budgets Our budgets are borne of actuals having been pressure tested for several years All contract labour negotiations and management The vineyards have the benefit of being part of a larger group of negotiating power All Pest & Disease monitoring All Quality Control Sustainable Winegrowing NZ Council liaison re: consents and programmes Chemical tendering - As with contract labour the company benefits from the larger buying power when tendering Frost management - We have permanent experienced staff available All yield management & reporting Accounts admin - All accounts are approved/ coded and sent monthly Winery negotiations if required Management and planning of all operations on the vineyard - The machinery aspect can be provided in house if required and therefore very price competitive while allowing greater control on timings Harvest - Considerable experience with harvest logistics, sampling and tasting for maturity The management side works very closely with the operational side to monitor and continually seek to improve operations [Lean Management]. Owners sometimes have a preference to maintain the current staffing structure at which point BVM welcomes the opportunity to discuss how this would best work.

LEAN VINEYARD MANAGEMENT It is important to ensure there is no confusion between; a. Compromising vineyard health and fruit quality through enforced or ill-conceived cost cutting exercises, and b. Reducing operating expenses through well informed and implemented management decisions With a collective viticulture career spanning over 35 years, BVM s principle viticulturists apply their industry leading experience and best practice to achieve wine company quality standards at the best possible cost to the vineyard owner; thus maximising economic returns. KEYS TO LEAN MANAGEMENT Accurate Yield Estimation & Historical Yield Information Mechanization of labour intensive operations Multi-functioning of machinery Ensuring efficient machinery operation Identification & removal of non-value-ad operations Sounds simplistic, but critical analysis is essential to success of Lean Management BVM AT A GLANCE The principle Viticulturists of BVM are highly experienced, well regarded and respected within the wine industry Proven track record of achieving targeted wine specifications for a number of winery partners Considerable experience with linking fruit with wines regarding wine assessment and blending Vineyard best practice is implemented to ensure fruit quality is not compromised Ability to provide independent reviews of staffing & capital requirements In-house plant & equipment utilising up to date machinery if required Experienced, knowledgable, enthusiastic operators who take pride in their work Open minded, current, flexible, dynamic Currently supplying fruit to 12 winery partners
