Sunbeam s Safety Precautions SAFETY PRECAUTIONS FOR YOUR SUNBEAM AUTO GRINDER. Always place the unit on a flat, level surface. The grinder cannot operate without the lid in position. Switch off and unplug at power point before cleaning. Sunbeam is very safety conscious when designing and manufacturing consumer products, but it is essential that the product user also exercise care when using an electrical appliance. Listed below are precautions which are essential for the safe use of an electrical appliance: Read carefully and save all the instructions provided with an appliance. Always turn the power off at the power outlet before you insert or remove a plug. Remove by grasping the plug - do not pull on the cord. Turn the power off and remove the plug when the appliance is not in use and before cleaning. Do not use your appliance with an extension cord unless this cord has been checked and tested by a qualified technician or service person. Always use your appliance from a power outlet of the voltage (A.C. only) marked on the appliance. Do not operate any electrical appliance with a damaged cord or after the appliance has been damaged in any manner. If damage is suspected, return the appliance to the nearest Sunbeam Appointed Service Centre for examination, repair or adjustment. For additional protection, Sunbeam recommend the use of a residual current device (RCD) with a tripping current not exceeding 30mA in the electrical circuit supplying power to your appliances. Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid unless recommended. Appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote control system. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as: staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; farm houses; by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; bed and breakfast type environments. Features of your AutoGrinder Transparent cover For ease of use the cover of the AutoGrinder also doubles as a measuring cup and being transparent the user is able to observe the coffee beans being ground. Stainless steel grinding bowl As coffee beans are oily and aromatic, the stainless steel grinding bowl surface ensures minimal transfer of flavours and odours. One touch power button Easy to operate, simply press the power button and your work is done, the grinder will automatically stop when the selected grind is achieved. Storage container The storage container is ideal for storing excess coffee grounds. Cleaning brush For easy cleaning use the small brush to remove stubborn coffee grinds quickly and with no fuss to ensure quality, fresh grinding results every time. 2

Style of coffee grind The AutoGrinder gives you 3 choices of grind; coarse for percolated coffee, medium for drip filtered coffee and fine for espresso coffee. Sliding grind selector Decide on the style of coffee grind and slide the grind selector to the quantity of ground coffee desired. Cord storage Convenient and clever cord storage, turn the base of the grinder to retract the cord and simply pull the cord out for use. 3

Handy hints for grinding coffee beans with the Sunbeam AutoGrinder For a good cup of coffee only grind the amount you need for immediate use, as ground coffee quickly loses its flavour and aroma. With the Sunbeam AutoGrinder coffee beans can be ground from a range of coarse to a very fine grind. The required coffee grind will be determined by the brewing method used or style of coffee desired. The different brewing methods include; BREWING METHOD Espresso Machines Stove top Espresso Drip Filtered Plunger or Percolator GRIND Fine grind Medium grind Medium grind Coarse grind Do not leave coffee beans or grounds in the open air, for best flavour always store them in an airtight container. Excess coffee beans or grounds can be stored in the refrigerator or freezer as by doing so will slow down the rate at which the coffee reacts with the moisture in the air. When grinding more than 12 scoops of coffee beans, pour beans into cover, then turn the grinder upside down and lock onto the cover. Be sure to align the arrow on the lid/cover with the unlock graphic on the rear of the grinder and turn the cover to the left/lock position. 4

Using your Sunbeam AutoGrinder Before using your Sunbeam AutoGrinder, wipe the stainless steel grinding bowl and blades clean with a damp cloth and wash the transparent cover in warm soapy water. Dry thoroughly. Note: Allow to dry completely before using. 1.Place the AutoGrinder on a dry, level surface. 2. Remove the cover of the AutoGrinder by turning it to the right/unlock position, then lift straight up. left/lock position. 5. Hold the plug and pull slowly to release the stored cord. Plug the power cord into a 230-240V AC power outlet and turn the power ON. 6. Select the style of coffee (Percolator, Auto Drip, Espresso) and slide the grind selector 3. Using the measurements on the cover/lid, fill with the desired amount of coffee beans and pour into the grinding bowl. Alternatively scoop the beans directly into grinding bowl. 4. Replace and lock the cover onto the AutoGrinder. Align the arrow on the lid/ cover with the unlock graphic, on the rear of the grinder, and turn the cover to the to the quantity of ground coffee desired. 7. Press the Power button to commence grinding and then remove finger. The Sunbeam AutoGrinder will stop automatically when the selected grind is achieved. To stop the grind cycle at anytime, push the Power button. When the Power button is pressed again, the grinder will start from the beginning of the timed cycle. Important: Do not remove the cover before the blades have stopped moving. 8. Once the blades have stopped rotating unplug the cord from the power outlet and remove the cover. Gently tap the base of the AutoGrinder to loosen the freshly ground coffee from the stainless steel grinding bowl. Note: The AutoGrinder will only operate when the cover is in the locked position. 5

Care and Cleaning Do not immerse the motor base of the AutoGrinder in water. Do not place the AutoGrinder in the dishwasher. 4. Hold the AutoGrinder and turn the base in a clockwise direction to retract the power cord. 1.When you have finished grinding, unplug your Autogrinder from the power outlet. 2.
