MESSAGE FROM THE COMMODORE Spring is finally here! At least that is what the calendar says. Who forgot to tell the weather man? As I am writing this letter in April, it looks and feels more like early March. Hopefully by the time this newsletter comes out, the weather will have turned around. The BIG news for the club this year is the planned building renovation project. YES, it is finally going to happen!! The club's Board of Governors has met throughout the winter and spring months, working with the contractors and architects to revise our plans. The board has selected Krieghoff -Lenawee Co. as the construction firm to perform the renovation, and they are currently working with our architect to finalize the plans. Construction is scheduled to begin immediately following the closing of the club in September. The revised plans will be available for member's viewing as soon as we get them back from the architect. This is also an important year for attracting new members. There is no better way to keep our own membership dues from increasing than to bring in new members. The board has approved incentives for all of our current members to invite and sponsor new members. If you bring in a new member who joins in May, both you and the new member will receive a $200 club credit. If you bring in a member that joins in June, both you and the new member will receive a $150 club credit. The club credit will be reduced to $100 in July, and $50 in August for both yourselves and the new member. The club credit can be used for food and beverages. Thanks to an anonymous donation, this year all DLYC members are receiving a free membership to the Lakes Preservation League. You can learn more about all the great things the LPL does when you receive their magazine. It is certainly an organization all of us enjoying the lakes should be a member of. So let the fun begin!! It's time to being another great year at DLYC. Diane and I are looking forward to seeing all of you soon. Mother s Day Brunch May 13th - 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Entrees Chef Carved Prime Rib of Beef with Au Jus/Horseradish Cream Country Pit Ham with Michigan Cherry Sauce Chicken Cordon Bleu Braised Pork Shoulder with Bacon and Apple Reduction Side Dishes Roasted Yukon Gold Potatoes with Rosemary Wild Mushroom Rice Pilaf Green Bean Casserole Steamed Broccoli and Hollandaise Rolls and Butter Adults - $24.00 Children 6 to 12 - $12.00 5 and under Free Breakfast Selections Scrambled Eggs Bacon and Sausage Eggs Benedict Biscuits and Gravy Cinnamon Rolls Salads and More Fruit and Cheese Display Cocktail Shrimp and Cocktail Sauce Oysters on Half Shell Greek Pasta Salad Cucumber Salad Apple-Cabbage Slaw Romaine with Strawberries, Almonds, Grapes, Mandarin Oranges and Honey Mustard Twice Baked Potato Salad Children s Buffet Dessert Display

Message from the Manager Well, Spring has sprung and apparently kept right on bouncing, AWAY from Michigan! So many of you have stopped by the office to welcome us back and it has been great to see you. We always look forward to our return to DLYC because our members are the nicest people in the world! Chef Greg is back this season along with Chip managing the bar. You will see many returning faces whom you will remember from last season and some new hires who will be eager to help you. The first big party of the year is the Derby Party on Saturday, May 5 th, starting at 4:00PM. We will have an array of appetizers from 4:00 until 6:00. The Run for the Roses is scheduled to begin at 6:20. A special Derby Dinner Buffet will begin at 6:00. You can enjoy appetizers only for $10, or both appetizers and the dinner buffet for $22.50. Big Foot Bob will entertain beginning at 9:00! The next big function is our Mothers Day Brunch. If you want to treat Mom on her special day, bring her to DLYC and enjoy delicious food beautifully presented at one of her favorite places. Please be sure to check the calendar in this newsletter for the rest of the month s activities. Here to serve, Stephen J Gongola CCM, CCE Dockmaster s Report Member's dock assignments for 2018 will be posted on the bulletin board on the side deck of the clubhouse. Our goal is to have all docks and lifts ready by Mother's Day, May 13th. If docks are ready any earlier than then, members will be notified by Constant Contact email. Otherwise, No boats are allowed at the club docks until May 13th. Members are reminded that boats not on a lift must be tied to four individual poles installed by the members. No boats are to be tied to the dock, or any dock posts. Also, automobile tires are not allowed to be used as dock bumpers. For all Kayak and Paddle Board owners, this year we have a rack available for storing Kayak and Paddle Boards. See Manager Steve to reserve a spot. Doug Tagsold Entertainment Committee We will continue to have live entertainment Friday and Saturday nights (With the exception of Saturday, Sept 8th) through the end of the Yacht Club season. Watch the weekly email blast or check the entertainment calendar posted in the bar area to see who's playing! Craig Winn
